Here is a 1200W 48V DC powersupply that might be the ticket, it is not cheap but mining is a long term investment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-1200W-Redundant-1200W-48V-DC-Common-Slot-Power-Supply-Model-437573-B21/202043269443?hash=item2f0ab7a143:g:UkYAAOSwfi9ZqZpq

Yep, all over that one but found them local for 1/4 the price lol i'll grab second hand and see how it goes

Use a normal pc power supply to run the PC motherboard and CPU then independently wire the 6 GPUs with 12 volt DC using a DC power supply straight from your solar battery pack so basically using two power supplies it's just easy way to do it it's easy
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Will look into it :)
Lastly you can also get this PCIe to Motherboard converter to run the motherboard off the server PSU, This is the one i would highly recommend as i just got it. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TISHRIC-2017-Newest-ATX-24Pin-MINI-ITX-PICO-PSU-Power-Supply-Adapter-Card-LR1106-250W-12V/32819937661.html
Will be great to see how the mining project goes, The key will be the cards you use and the power draw. It will be best to use one psu and maybe an expensive card that can do very efficient power draw while still earning a good daily rate to make it worth doing. Eg the 1070ti card is very good and a step up efficiently to the 1070.
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Seen those a few days ago, just have to wait till my cards start arriving and see how much power they use and how much power I want to use from the batteries in a 24hr period. At the moment i'm using 7;3 kwh per day with two old cards and making 3-4 dollars per day
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
6 cards 20amps each u need a 120amp DC power supply
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
starting to back away from running 6 cards just due to power and heat . Have 4 cards comming
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
I got the Old plugs from the PC power supply and modified them and connected them to DC power supplies that can produce 20 amps each
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
Just wire up the GPUs separately using a power supply for each one they use about 20 amps at 12 volts
I would forget the 48DC-DC12v idea, The amount of 12v current that is needed to run alots of GPUs is crazy. Plus there is no high current DCDC that is anywhere close to being cheap. Stay with using only Platinum 94% powersupplys which means a 6% loose. If you look up a DC-DC high current powersupply you will soon see they are less then 94% Efficient given its a stepdown from 48-12 there is looses. If there is a problem with the pips supplying power all the time the best and cheapest option is just to buy a third pip and use 240v server PSU's as listed in my other two comments below..
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
U live in a hot country u need to cool the GPUs the UK is a cool climate and warms my house for free as well as mining
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
It's easy I use DC power supplies to run the GPUs I don't use a pc power supply
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
Mining crypto will buy u a new Tesla roadster if u don't dump them as soon as u mine
Also i have one of these 2400 WATT POWER SUPPLY, Its the one with all the GPU power cables, Run quite etc Heres the link to the one i got. https://www.parallelminer.com/product/2400-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-efficiency-200-240v-ethereum-eth-zec-dash/
I have two HP 1200w DPS , i picked one up for $80 NZ and its platinum. Then get this board for the power supply, It has the ticker 16AWG cables. I just got 2. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mining-Power-Supply-Kit-10x-6Pin-Port-Breakout-Board-and-60CM-UL-1007-16AWG-PCI-E/32826034901.html

Why in the heck Am i not getting the notifications What the heck is wrong with youtube.
Diy in the Ghetto (1 year ago)
HBPowerwall lol sorry Pete. YouTube doesn't notify me at all even though I'm setup for it 😥
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Would you like the list alphabetically or chronologically?
byankos (1 year ago)
Hey Pete, You showed a WD sharespace. Do you use original WD green WED10EADS? If not, what drives do you use to replace? Thanks Bill
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
you HAVE to use WD drives i've got a 3tb red to load up BUT only uses 2tb so I stick wtih 2tb red drives

Does Bitcoin mining pay better than net metering your power back to the grid for the energy you generate and your battery storage
Mark Williams (1 year ago)
Yes the grid give u very little they take the piss so mine crypto with the spare energy
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Let me work that out for you :) ask me again in a month lol
David Collins (1 year ago)
would you consider cutting the cable to the grid to get rid of connection fees if you had one or two backup generators
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Never, the grid is too easy!

If you know the wallet address, you can go online on a "BTC blockchain explorer" and it will tell you how much is in it. you only need to sync your computer wallet to spend them if you do not have the passphrase/seed to restore it somewhere else. Only put in the blockchain explorer your public key not your private key/passpharse/seed. You can also use a "light" wallet like Electrum-BTC that do not sync all the blockchain but only sync with one hosted online. if you have a BackUp/seed for one, you should be able to restore them also in that Electrum BTC Wallet.
GJayjayG (1 year ago)
You should also be able to backup your wallet from your computer even if not sync up to date, and maybe even restore it directly in an Electrum Light Wallet. That could be fastest way to access those BTC EDIT: need to backup the key/passphrase/seed directly here to restore to another type/soft of wallet, there should be the option for it, in most wallet anyway.
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
I'll definitely check that out!!
Zero Bytes (1 year ago)
check out Bits Be Trippin on youtube has a lot of good videos on crypto miners
Zero Bytes (1 year ago)
ah ok :) i use claymore for my small setup but right now i'm doing zcash using zecminer64 really don't want you do end up wasting more time there :) got 1x 580 1x 280x(need to replace that chews to much) get around $2-3 per 12hrs but power usage is 400-500watts
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Spent too much time there already lol
$60 for a fews bit of tin?? i think i will make mine out of wood scraps or aluminium scraps I have lying around
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Yep and cheap tin at that but it does work and is easy lol
ahhh so u liked my link on dc to dc pc psu's.... well i am glad u checked it out.... why in the world wud anyone want to invert dc power to ac and then convert it back to dc to feed a dc appliance. :)
if u aint seen this then check it out https://youtu.be/GbhsQIT6wnk
Server Racks r measured in "RU" stands for Rack Unit, each rack unit is 2 holes high on the rail and the server rack is described as eg: 36Ru can hold 36 individual items but, some items take up 2 RU on their own. the 2kw lithium batteries for servers r 1RU so u can have a very neat awesome looking power bank all tidy in a 7ft high server rack :)
Unfortunately I have not been able to do a practical real life test against the theory as of yet, the ac inversion cost is about "20%" energy, but the real test is capturing the power used thru the energy victron meter alone used for the mining rig. I am pretty much obsessed/consumed (yes I am freak with dc to dc consumption) on this topic, and with this u will need to setup a cloned rig to do a run with the HP1200watt server psu runing both tests simultaneously taking in account the power produced from the solar string too if possible. Then it will come down to a $ value to see what the budget is.
the pico psu is only good for a workstation 160 to 200 watts each, for the crypto mining rig u may need 2 or 3 48v psu's depending on the power output of each psu. I would only run them psu at 75% loads to allow for longevity of the life.
HBPowerwall (1 year ago)
Yep, but doing some research looks like it'll be more efficient going the old way lol If they get back to me I'll hope to be able to learn a great deal more :)
