Great tutorial. One question, anyone know how to update the index if only certain data changes. For example, if i index a CSV file in elastic and then add an entry, elastic shall currently index the complete dataset again. Is there a modification that can be made to the logstash config file in order for only modified entries to be updated?

Great tutorial man. You explain in a so soft and subtle way. Thanks a lot. 1 question:- In the above scenario you have used mutate to convert column's datatype to integers. Similarly, will writing "date" instead of integer change column datatype to date?

I'm getting the same error. Pipeline can't be created. File is identical. Data is identical. Running this on Windows 10.
call logstash -f yourfilelocationhere --config.test_and_exit

My file didn't have any errors. However, I created another config file, copied the content from the previous one, and I was able to import the data.
Hi, I'm getting this error. Can anyone help on this? [2017-11-15T20:02:54,187][INFO ][logstash.outputs.elasticsearch] Running health check to see if an Elasticsearch connection is working {:healthcheck_url=>http://localhost:9200/, :path=>"/"} [2017-11-15T20:02:54,191][WARN ][logstash.outputs.elasticsearch] Attempted to resurrect connection to dead ES instance, but got an error. {:url=>"http://localhost:9200/", :error_type=>LogStash::Outputs::ElasticSearch::HttpClient::Pool::BadResponseCodeError, :error=>"Got response code '401' contacting Elasticsearch at URL 'http://localhost:9200/'"}

I ingested multiple similar .csv files of the same type, just different dates a few extra entries, and it added all of the data together. Isn't it supposed to be able to skip similar entries?
shashwat gaur (1 year ago)
Hi, what if .csv file is archived inside .gz file? How can we read that using logstash? Please suggest.
Nice presentation; thank you.
