I laugh every time people say you gotta get something that means something to you. It sounds elitist. And to say nobody else will have it when someone could see it and get it as well. Just get something you like that looks good.
I'm getting mine in pieces in a sense. I have 2 different style bands on my left arm that I'm going to connect and extend off of. It saves you the hassle of getting it all at once and paying a huge price. Maybe it's more expensive this way in the end, as I've already spent $600 on the 2, but there is a ton of detail that went into them, and different pieces can represent different things. They dont really have any meaning on them, I just like the way they make me look. In the end, all these different designs, styles, and colors getting tied together will tell a bit of a story about me anyway. One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention in the video is color really. It looks like yours is that standard tattoo green throughout. Mine are black, with outlines of color. The red just seeping out from under the black looks really good for the design I went with on the first one
I was thinking about getting a sleeve tattoo that represents my family. I thought about getting from my wrist to my elbow full of skulls to represent the family members that I have died and idk about the upper half from the elbow to the shoulder
A sleeve or any tattoo does not need to have a story, hold significant meaning or be a theme.
A sleeve isn’t always one big tattoo either.
I’m sure there are plenty of comments saying these things.
Spatting off that it has to have meaning or be one theme for the entire arm is misleading to those who do not know much about tattoos and to people who do you sound like you know not much yourself. BUT, you are right on research. That’s very important advice. Everyone should do plenty of research on what they want and who they want to do it.
I would love to get my wrist to be a big gold ish film reel with 4 characters in a walking animation where I'd have
Finn (adventure time) first
Mario (Nintendo) next
Simba (lion king) 3rd
And howl (howls moving castle) 4th
So it shows the progress of animation in simplest to hardest art style and those 4 are the main artistic inspiration to me plus; the film reel I'd have a bit of a chain to represent the idea of me being dedicated or "lock" to the profession of animation also it being on my left arm cause I'm left handed
I've got more ideas to it but I still am caution in getting it. Any input would be appreciated!
I am thinking of getting a sleeve that shows what made me who I am today. I joined the Navy after highschool became a corpsman, went to VietNam ,worked as a EMT & volunteer fireman, became a LPN and finally retired from the sheriff's office after serving in the jail medical unit, being a certified deputy on road patrol ,mounted unit and a bailiff in the court system.
It will sum up my life of service which I am proud of.
Holy fuck is this what getting a tattoo has become , what are your qualifications except having some tattoos , most tattoos don’t even look like tattoos anymore most look like children water paintings with no lines , I stick to the old school stuff
ManlyManTv I know just how Americans think. He responded with an exact why not...lol.. Ok. It doesn’t have tell a story for everyone Miss America especially if that story is hiding behind a bunch of clothes and is not easily readable. It that sense. It just makes you look HOT and fuckable. But you’re entitled to your opinion like Americans say. But not to your facts I say. Your target audience in this sense would be those who are looking for ink with meaning. Sorry. I’m not that so I’ll skip to the next video. You look hot btw. And what story is your tattoo telling because I can see a lot of hotness but not the story because its hiding underneath the clothes. You better take it off because now I’m getting seriously interested in you 😄
I’ve always liked fish and stuff in the sea my whole life and I wanted a arm sleeve tattoo dedicated to that but I didn’t know what I should do in one of my friends told me to get something like Roman Atwood’s are arm sleeveSo I looked him up and seeing images off of Google and his design wasn’t exactly what I was thinking but on his wrist with the stars in the initials of his wife and kids I want to do the same thing on my wrist
I think an Aliens theme sleeve would be awesome, Xenemorphs down my arm, I've always loved the films even though 3 was shit and resurrection was not too great, to me it will remind of my grandad and his old house (sounds weird) but that's where I watched the first two Alien films when I was young.
All these people saying tattoos don’t need to have meaning behind them are deff young and at the oldest in their 20s
When I was growing up you earned your tattoo whether you was on the street, locked up, in a gang, or just a regular person.
You earned it and or had meaning behind it.
My how the times have changed (not saying that’s a bad thing)
He is into pop culture, things that remind him of his amazing childhood. A lot of game artists have their fave games and anime/cartoons as tattoo sleeves, it has shaped them in some form to be artistic, and yes DBZ is beyond cool! Wouldn't mind getting one.
Good luck finding an artist that will tattoo something copied from another artist's work. If they do they're a shitty artist and you need to find another one. Anybody who copies tattoos shouldn't have one. Use them as references by all means but do not ever copy.
I was thinking of s firebird/Phoenix design with a yin/yang symbol and the phrase "When i let go of who i am,i become who i might be" in really cool lettering. Probably on my upper right arm, maybe ill design it myself...than again i just turned 45...im too old for a tattoo perhaps!
Gonna get a sleeve that's space themed but the astronauts are all characters and stuff so, ones going to be cookie monster reaching for a cookie, maybe have my dog in cartoon form riding in an alien spaceship
People with tattoos have a lower IQ then most people- this was my original msg lol I got like 30 negative responses and none telling me anything about my spelling. I guess people with tattoos are dumber hahaha-lol
I would never get a big sleeve, I usually get small meaningfully ones as I go throughout my life. Eventually all the small ones will form into a sleeve on there own. If I even get that many, if not that’s okay. At least they’re not something I would regret- just my perspective on tats
Haha that's called a patchwork tattoo sleeve, a lot of people choose that route, then maybe add backgrounds such as dots, lines, and other fillers later, or just keep the skin the same inbetween. In my opinion with patchwork sleeves just leaving the skin as is in between it makes the tattoos individually pop a lot better.
I'm about to start my tattoo journey (at least I think I am lol). The style I want is like black and grey, as realistic as possible, but done in blue. Im thinking mostly animal tattoos, and I'm lucky that I can attach meaning to a lot of animals, they're not just cool things to have tattoos of, for example I want a tattoo of foxes because my school was called Foxdenton school and the badge was 3 foxes, and another idea is one of an owl, my hometowns emblem is an owl. Others would be a tiger, I was born in the Chinese year of the tiger, and they've always been my favourite animal, any cat, big or small is, I want a scorpion as my star sign is Scorpio, can't say I follow my horoscope but it's a part of me still. I want a white eagle, the emblem of Poland where my grandmother was from. Other than those I have a couple of quotes I want. And as I identify as Pagan I want something connected to that, like a wheel of the chest or something to do with the elements, earth air fire water spirit. I made a list recently of all the different tattoos I want and it's something like 25 tattoos!!. I'm hoping to do it in a way so that it all links together, not just separate tattoos.
I want like god holding on to a chain with a cross on it then a lion next to it because my dad has a lion and that’s something that I will remember him by and then a gun and a hang rope and the inside says hang on tight because I was bullied in middle school and thought suicide was the only answer was suicide but instead I have been hanging on tight
Great tips. My question to you tho; what about a sleeve with just random stuff that isn’t connected? Like what if doesn’t really have a theme or sentimental value on it? Like what if it’s a sleeve with different/random things on it like a rose, a superhero, a Star Wars character, a dragon ball character, etc? What about a sleeve like that? Especially if you put a lot of thought into that.
ManlyManTv oh ok just making sure because I thought a tattoo sleeve was supposed to have a theme or be connected somehow and I thought that each tattoo on a sleeve was supposed to have a similar meaning to them. But I guess it don’t really have to Thanks man.
I want to get a sleeve showing my journey from being suicidal to learning to love life and appreciate everything it's given me. A grim reaper or a demon are designs I've always wanted and I think they'd fit right in with this idea, but maybe I'm just a tattoo noob that doesn't know what he's talking about lol
I’m 21 and have been wanting a tattoo for a while but haven’t had an idea until now but how does a tattoo of the state flower of each state that I’ve had a great time at? I’m born and raised in Indiana and have many great memories here but in the future like in a month I’m going to Florida for my nephews first birthday and we’re all going as a family so I’d get Florida’s flower in that scenario
Dude. U brought up dbz sleeve an I was like my nigga. I've been thinking about getting a gohan sleeve. Hes my favorite character. I've actually been thinking about this for the last year now and probably won't get it till Next year.
