Excuse me How to do it Aurora effect?
Highlandboxes (3 months ago)
I use a flow resin on a tooth pick once the main resin thickens. :-)
John Fenimore (7 months ago)
Something more to copy from you Pam! Very beautiful. Can you share a link where one can buy the “flo dye”? I can’t find it using Google. Thx and keep up the excellent work!
Highlandboxes (7 months ago)
Copy away :-) here is the link for you http://www.metalclay.co.uk/alumilite-dye-fluorescent-green-29-6ml-1fl-oz/ Many thanks John :-)

Phenomenal. What type of resin do you use, and how long did it have to set before adding the effect?
Highlandboxes (10 months ago)
No i pour resin then about 30 mins later i put flo resin on a cocktail stick and swirl it round in top of resin. :-)
T Brig (10 months ago)
12 hours before you added the flowglo?
Highlandboxes (10 months ago)
I use amazing clear cast and it takes about 12 hours to cure . many thanks :-)

These look Amazing! I could never achieve this kind of shine.. Could you please please tell me about then buffing compounds? What compound did you use for the buffing on the 1st and 2nd stage? and what type of buffing wheel should I use with the dremel? I've been using felt wool buffing wheel but couldn't achieve that shine..
Hiba Sharafuddin (1 year ago)
oh alright..:)
Highlandboxes (1 year ago)
i get all my music from epidemic and sorry ive no idea of the name :-)
Hiba Sharafuddin (1 year ago)
Thanks again! can't wait to try it.. and sorry to bug but could you tell the name of the song that you have used first in this video? :p been seen searching since morning but couldn't find..
Highlandboxes (1 year ago)
No i have used the dremel to do all the polishing on rings before with the mops in the link, so should work fine :-)
Hiba Sharafuddin (1 year ago)
Thank u soo soo much! much love.. <3 just one more question.. since I don't have the lathe machine for buffing n have only Dremel, so do you think for the 1st n 2nd stage of buffing could be done with Dremel and soft polishing wheel that you have linked above? or will it need some other wheel for the 1st stage?
Love the colours and effect in both the rings and pendants. They are stunning! Congrats! Blimey Pam you won a lot of toys. A UV light a temperature gauge, and who knows wha else, maybe the Crown Jewels in another bedroom??? LOL. Cheers Sean

They look amazing Pam.

Hi Pam, I made some thin (¼” to ½”) casting using Alumilite Clear, I added burl slices in the casting the same as you did in another video. They dried hard but when I sanded them using a belt sander the fiction from sanding made the resin areas soft and playable. They seem to be hard again since they have cooled. Is that normal? Thanks
Will do! I didn’t stabilize the wood so I thought I was doing well with no bubbles. I’ll keep trying. Thanks
Highlandboxes (1 year ago)
Yeh the resin can get hot try to avoid that by short bursts with sanding when it gets hot also this doesnt happen as much once fully cure after about 3 to 4 days keep going you learn as you go along and these things happen less. :-)
baconsoda (1 year ago)
Those are lovely Pam. This is a very interesting video so thanks for putting it up. Could I ask you what you are using to clean your sanding belts please? Best Wishes, Brendan.

I had no idea how much work goes into a piece of jewellery like this. It's fantastic and your tutorial was easy to follow. I'm not of a mind to actually do this mostly because of the cost of tools etc. However, I absolutely adore it and think you're extremely clever & creative. Thank you so much.
