Make growing easy... Just get blue staff Coco. [email protected] everyone uses it now. It's the best buffered Coco 60/40 out there. Takes out a lot of growing problems..including nutrient lockout. Honestly best stuff out there. 😀

I always have way too many babies and no room. What is a good or recommended amount of plants under one light? Is 36 too many? Does it yeld bigger with less plants? Is it limited how much each light can produce? Help pleasee.
GrowAce (2 months ago)
It largely depends on the size of the light. The plants should have enough space to have sufficient surface area for light absorption. If only the tips of the plant are getting light, there are definitely too many plants per light. The plant should also not be stretching out trying to absorb more light. If unsure, the simplest answer is trial and error. If the plant is not properly sprouting or flowering, more light is needed, if there are obvious UV or heat burns there is too much light.

I tried an aeroponic system and it was amazing for one crop. And then I got the dreaded white slime and the system was done for. I tried everything to flush and get rid of it. Heat was an issue as the temp in the second crop rose to 73 degrees plus. The first was kept around 67.

im using a combination of deep water culture and aerponics, aerponics to set off roots that come down to the water then as soon as roots start touching the solution I increase the water to make a dwc so far its working great
Darren Russell (4 months ago)
who says that dwc system is for just one plant you could use bigger container and have more plants

Thanks for sharing. But what happens if the power goes out for 12 to 24 hours? The roots mass would be too hot/cold in summer/winter when room temp start to raise/drop. thx

Technically yes, but this will limit size and health of your plant. For best results we suggest these systems. If you try using the sand pot let us know how it goes.

We all have our favorite medium. The natural nutrients in soil can definitely give your plant a boost.
J W (10 months ago)
Dwc doesn’t have to be one plant per bucket. It’s easier if you have a large Rubbermaid style container with netcups placed in the lid so multiple plants can share the same water. It’s easier to monitor your water that way. Just treat your water with beneficials or a sterilization agent to avoid root rot jumping from plant to plant. I like to use UC Roots from Amazon. I easily converted a General Hydroponics Eco Grower drip system to a dwc bucket with room for up to six plants. The drip components had to be placed just right or they wouldn’t work, and I didn’t want that additional variable in my garden. Now I just grow two large plants in my 3x3 tent and I’m having great success.
GrowAce (6 months ago)
Great advice! Best of luck with your grow, we'd love to see your set up.
How to grow the initial posture without sponge?
GrowAce (6 months ago)
There are different grow mediums that will fit ever grower's needs. The clay medium works best for hydroponic systems with a constant water supply. It allows for quick and easy control of moisture and nutrients.

How did you come up with the idea that CO2 damages roots when pumped into the reservoir? You pay dearly for CO2 tablets to put into your reservoir... Please link me to your source, thank you. The very most important thing is having all kinds of beneficial bacteria in your hydro reservoir, not using hydrogen peroxide... No air stone or peroxide will save you from root rot and pythium, beneficial bacterias will
turbostatic1 (3 months ago)
Co2 being pumped through your airpump into the reservoir(if the airpump is in the room w/ Co2) will raise your ph....out of control ph will hurt and stress your plant.
Humberto Gonzalez (4 months ago)
Are you supposed to add bacteria to the water?

EkkoBullie (10 months ago)
water/solution (clarify )lol
EkkoBullie (10 months ago)
exactly! imo for it to be hydro the roots should just be getting washed with water not being "ROOTED" into a media
Happy grower Chris (10 months ago)
EkkoBullie ok for it to be hydro the roots must be in the air or in bucket. Any thing you water is not hydro. I use soil and coco my self and a layer of 2 inches of perlight on the top to keep the water from trenching the soil wen you water in a scrog and can’t move buckets around 😏
Heugh Jassman (1 year ago)
Recirculating DWC is where its at! WUBALUBADUBDUB! Just take a single plant DWC and put a nozzle that shoots water at the roots. It's amazing and will get you even better results. Make sure your water is oxygenated. You don't need to submerge the roots with the water being on them and it makes the roots grow super fast. Using a external res for this also makes it easier to keep the water cold.

Very familiar with aqua/hydro ponics before most of u were born......lol Only indoors growing we do is in nurseries. I live in Florida now but grew up in the Ozarks where there's pot behind every other tree. The move indoors with lighting to produce heat (uva/uvb) for plants & animals in the 80's-90's was very common until meth found it's place due to cheap & quicker results with a greater high. U don't grow aquaponics inside unless it's generally smaller plants & starter growth vegetables & spices.(micro). Nonetheless, do your research.........If u want to be respected And yes, I'm aware those suffering from injuries from service for our country have every right to grow medical marijuana (imho). Alot of good info in here, just leave out the pot. Enough said.

Hello grow ace , i am on my 7 th week from germinate and i am in a 5 gallon dwc and my question is how many times do i put in nutriants? Please help
kevingill3339 (1 year ago)
I herd you say you have to have air stones at all times. I beg to differ. We have been using the B. A. Kratky no air stone, no water pump, no hoses to clog, no filter to clog system. With no crop failures. So My question for you is do you have to use one of the systems you talked about because you are growing M.J. we haven't grown M.J yet as we are waiting for our permits. But we have grown lettices, tomatoes, radishes, Cantalopes, spinach, we just recently harvested our first hydroponic potatoes. We have nothing but a nutrient filled tub with soft foam plugs to hold the seeds or seedlings, in ridged Styrofoam panels sitting on top. Our plants get natural sun, we cool and or heat as needed. This is our second year to use this method, we are planning to expand it mext year to replace some of our soil based grow beds as we have very alkaline water and this system gives us better controls. Does M.J. need the extras or what.

i love your channel these are great videos very helpful but i have a question ok on the drip water feeder i have heard from a few peeps that they are having trouble with nutrients building up in the actual lines like it when its set up on a timer the nutrients will build up and over feed plants eventially and kill them can u plz show a video on this or something showing viewers how to clean there drip tips to keep from buildup or if it happens at all thanks will keep watching
GrowAce (1 year ago)
Good idea! Yes, unfortunately build up can occur. It's important to utilize hydroponic nutrients because of this.

Ebb and flow once or twice a day? How bout 15 minutes in every hour, that's 24 times a day!
The Dude's Clues (3 months ago)
Troy Moore - flooding 3-5 times per day for about 15 minutes to 30 minutes is sufficient for most applications. I don't recommend flooding when your lights are off unless your roots are drying out. Maybe a quick 10 minute flood a few hours before or after your lights are on.

organic soil or aquaponic system only otherwise your no different than tobacco smoking chemicals.
Brandon Jones (1 year ago)
GREAT video i have a dwc system intrested in the even flow send me the link
Jons LG (1 year ago)
By the way in Ebb&flow your reservoir doesn't have to be below the flood chamber, but it adds expense. That's what the "controller buckets" are for in "professional" ebb & flow systems. The res gets pumped into the controller bucket, flooding both it and the plants, and at the end it gets pumped back out of the controller bucket and into the reservoir. No need for any item to be above another.
The Dude's Clues (3 months ago)
Jons LG - sure. But you're describing a general "flood and drain" method. Ebb and Flow is specific to using gravity for draining.
Jons LG (1 year ago)
Haha, nice touch w/ Your Mom @ 1:05 . Little jokes like that make good videos like this even better. It's all entertaining at first, until you've learned all the basics and are looking for that 1 little tip you don't know in 10+ minute videos. Once you're at that point, little "Your Mom" bombs like that are gold =]
KMPZ (1 year ago)
Okay I am thinking about doing my first cannabis grow using deep water culture. Do I have to replace the water in the bucket regularly? I assume nutrients can build up in the water over time and make it nasty? Also do I just add nutrients as normal to the water.. say I had half a gallon of water in my bucket do I make the nutrients up as if I was just making a half gallon jug of water to pour into soil?
KMPZ (1 year ago)
Okay I understand. Thanks for the tip and good luck with the rest of your grow :D
Sam Iamm (1 year ago)
Mark Wright the plants use the water/nutrient mix, so u add water until it's time for a fresh mix every two weeks when they're in veg (small) and then weekly when they're bigger in flower. I don't use organics and I max out the air pump which keeps the water from funking up. It's my first time growing with DWC and as long as I keep an eye on it and don't over-react, everything has been great so far
Trevor Briggs (1 year ago)
PSHHH!! I run a hybrid super soil eb and flow system, I don't have any problems ,and due to the fact that I use super soil in a hydro system ,I only have to use half or 1/3 feeds! saves money and grows beautiful plants!
Morten Jørgensen (1 year ago)
you forgot about aeroponics
Jonny (1 year ago)
When I grew in DWC, my roots where darker in color never that white you want, that is the main reason I switch to Ebb and Flow because water temp don't matter at all, my roots now are always white. IMO beginners and pros ebb and flow is the way to go.

Aero: good luck, you'll need it. hope there's no power outages
J (1 year ago)
Hydroponics = Water based system, Aeroponics is a hydroponic system, it just uses no mediums, IE the roots hang in air, NFT is another no medium water based system. They are all hydroponic systems but the're are two classifications , media based or non media based..... All hydro systems can be used in either class with minor tweak's ..... Glad to have cleared that up for you :)
GrowAce (1 year ago)
There's been a misconception that aeroponics = hydroponics. The truth is that it is its own thing. Aeroponics is the use of no medium. Hydroponic is the use of soil-less medium. Hope this helps

DWC if your pump fail you need another pump wrong what about kratky method PLZ explain why this isn't a good method
SLOW (11 months ago)
Kratky is good depending on the crop. Lettuce, greens, basil etc. You can even grow tomatoes with Kratky hydroponics. But a DWC or Dutch Bucket or Flood&Drain will out perform Kratky. Do a side by side and you will see what I saw. Anything like high end cannabis definitely doesn’t want to be grown Kratky method
Part of the root system is not submerged in water. That part takes in the oxygen.

Ebb n Flow: I plan on doing it in the near future. Plants in coco coir, in pot. Then flood table. etc. Now my question is, does it need to dry out between flooding or does the plant get all of its oxygen pretty much during the flooding?
First Last (1 year ago)
during flower watering 3 times per day in coco will have better results than watering 1 time per day, dont worry about over watering in coco, do not let them dry out, although if you do you wont have too many issues, apart from the fact that whenever you let coco dry out you allow higher concentrations of your nutes to sit in the coco as now there is less water, its best to water often, ebb and flow is good because you get ti recycle the water

GrowAce (1 year ago)
Hi Justin, Thank you for your honest feedback, we take customer satisfaction very seriously and are very sadden to hear that you had this experience with us. In investigating the issue, I did find that you do have an order for us Yield Lab 400W HPS Only Grow Light Kit. My notes indicate that a HPS + MH bulb kit was mistakenly shipped to you and that the MH bulb was damaged during shipping. In most cases, if any damages occur during shipping we will immediately resend the item as not to inconvenience our customers prior to submitting a claim with UPS. However, in this particular case, because the MH bulb was mistakenly shipped to you in the first place, we are unable to reship a mistakenly shipped item. I really do apologize for this mixup. If the facts of this case are not true, please do contact me directly, I want to make sure we make it right. My direct email is [email protected] Thanks again!
