How to Brand Yourself/Business, Define Your Values and Standout in Your Market | Dan Martell
How do you create a brand that stands out in your market? Do you know your brand values and what it stands for? How about how to create an irresistible offer? In this video, I share the 3 most important steps you need to take to nail your branding and stand out in the marketplace. 4 Steps To Finding Your Brand’s Soul http://www.danmartell.com/branding/ Are you an entrepreneur? A brand that ascribes itself in permanent ink on the minds of your ideal client from the moment they first encounter it? That’s what I tackle in this week’s video. It all comes down to your brand. Your brand is what people “feel” about your business. It’s the outcome of every interaction, direct or indirect, that someone has with your business. A truth: your brand can’t be created, it can only be extracted. It comes from within. In this week’s video, I’ll show you how I helped my sister-in-law create an amazing brand that’s helped her stand out in an extremely competitive marketplace (real estate)... … as well as the branding framework I turn to over and over again to create brands that spark loyalty, affinity (and sales). It all comes down to these 3 steps: 1. Values: If you have kids, what beliefs would you leave them? 2. Ideal Customer: Who would you love to serve AND that has money? 3. Irresistible Offer: Education value, guarantee, no brainer. Ignore these steps and you’ll just blend in with the rest of your competitors... just another “me too” product/service that does X. I believe you can do better. I KNOW you can do better! Follow these 3 steps and share with me in the comments what you came up with! Have an incredible day! With gratitude, – Dan Don't forget to share this entrepreneurial advice with your friends, so they can learn too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYlaowox_fw ===================== ABOUT DAN MARTELL ===================== “You can only keep what you give away.” That’s the mantra that’s shaped Dan Martell from a struggling 20-something business owner in the Canadian Maritimes (which is waaay out east) to a successful startup founder who’s raised more than $3 million in venture funding and exited not one... not two... but three tech businesses: Clarity.fm, Spheric and Flowtown. You can only keep what you give away. That philosophy has led Dan to invest in 33+ early stage startups such as Udemy, Intercom, Unbounce and Foodspotting. It’s also helped him shape the future of Hootsuite as an advisor to the social media tour de force. An activator, a tech geek, an adrenaline junkie and, yes, a romantic (ask his wife Renee), Dan has recently turned his attention to teaching startups a fundamental, little-discussed lesson that directly impacts their growth: how to scale. You’ll find not only incredible insights in every moment of every talk Dan gives - but also highly actionable takeaways that will propel your business forward. Because Dan gives freely of all that he knows. After all, you can only keep what you give away. The Importance of Brand Values
Download my FREE eBook at http://brittanypickrem.com/5-must-have-elements/ My name is Brittany Pickrem and I help my customers to amplify their visual brand. On today’s episode of Brand Tip Tuesday, I’m going to talk about the importance of your Brand’s Values. What are brand values? I like to think of your brand values as the moral compass or the soul of your business. Values are a mostly silent, subtle element of an overall brand but that doesn’t make them any less important or powerful as any other piece of your brand. They also majorly impact your customer’s experience with you. Strong brand Values are especially important to have in place when you are going through difficult or challenging scenarios in your business Its the hard times that define what you are made of and it's your brand values that define what your brand stands for or stands against A great, high profile, recent example of values directly impacting a well-known brand is Uber. Recently Uber went through a second major brand overhaul in less than three years. If you think about it, Uber’s rebrand stemmed from a problem of poor brand values Over the last year, Uber has faced many sexual harassment and discrimination cases to underpaying its drivers in New York City. One of the biggest objectives of Uber’s rebrand was to better reflect the company’s new and improved brand values of better serving people around the world – through accessibility, safety and ease of use Values are a crucial part for a brand to be able to effectively scale. They affect everything from the outside look and feel of a visual brand to the inside operations and culture of a company How can you start to think about putting some solid brand values in place for your business? 1. What external and internal values do you stand for and believe in as it pertains to your product/service, your customer service and your team? 2. Write at least three values that you’ll never bend or break. 3. What makes your values unique from your competitors? Needless to say, its really important to have some solid brand values in place, just ask Uber.

What does BRAND AMBASSADOR mean? BRAND AMBASSADOR meaning - BRAND AMBASSADOR definition - BRAND AMBASSADOR explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. A Brand Ambassador (sometimes also called a Corporate Ambassador) is a person who is hired by an organization or company to represent a brand in a positive light and by doing so help to increase brand awareness and sales. The brand ambassador is meant to embody the corporate identity in appearance, demeanor, values and ethics. The key element of brand ambassadors is their ability to use promotional strategies that will strengthen the customer-product-service relationship and influence a large audience to buy and consume more. Predominantly, a brand ambassador is known as a positive spokesperson, an opinion leader or a community influencer, appointed as an internal or external agent to boost product or service sales and create brand awareness. Today, brand ambassador as a term has expanded beyond celebrity branding to self-branding or personal brand management. Professional figures such as good-will and non-profit ambassadors, promotional models, testimonials and brand advocates have formed as an extension of the same concept, taking into account the requirements of every company. The term brand ambassador loosely refers to a commodity which covers all types of event staff, varying between trade show hosts, in store promotional members and street teams. According to Brain, the job of a brand ambassador was undertaken typically by a celebrity or someone of a well-known presence, who was often paid considerably for their time and effort. Nowadays however, a brand ambassador can be anyone who has knowledge or can identify certain needs a brand is seeking. The fashion industry however, solely rely on celebrity clientele in order to remain brand ambassadors. Furthermore, brand ambassadors are considered to be the key salesperson for a product or service on offer. They must remain well informed when it comes to the brand they are representing, due to their nature of being the go-to person when questions arise from consumers. The brand ambassador's job is to drive results through communication tools either publicly, such as social media, or privately including emails, messaging and further one-to-one channels.

Post your comments and questions for him below, and he might do an episode answering your question freestyle. -------------------- QUOTE: -------------------- "Part of adding value is helping people reconnect with some emotional side of their lives. A lot of what we experience today in this world is so cheap and so commoditized and so technically driven, that it’s our job, if we want to add a lot of value, to bring back humanity, to bring back in the emotion, to bring back in the color, the flare, the joy, the vibrancy, the real hues of human emotion that are often missing from everything. If you bring that back in to everything that you’re contributing, you’ll go to a level of adding value that most people will never understand and people won’t just follow you because you’re the person who asks the best questions. People won’t just follow you because you’re the person who knows the most people. People will follow you because you’re an inspirer and a leader. Because they can see within you that you have true energy, true engagement, true human emotion with everything you’re contributing, and because of that they know that you’re somebody they want to follow. Core Business Values: Brand Building Course 6
What are your core values? What do we even mean by core values? Core values are the guiding principles and beliefs that dictate your behaviour. So, as an individual, they help you to discern right from wrong. They provide a solid, unchanging guide, and a benchmark against which you base your decisions and measure your actions. For businesses, they inform the ethics and standards that set procedures and create attitudes towards customer service, fairness, and how that's balanced against profits. So your core values will affect the emotional response your customer has to you. So, if you want to control that response, you first need to understand your core values. In order to do that, you first have to get clear on what emotions you want your customers to feel about you. Do you want them to feel safe, or challenged? Do you want them to see you as someone who is fun, energetic, entertaining, or authoritative, experienced, and reliable? Do you want them to feel they can come to you with questions? Do you want them to feel like they know you on a personal level? Ask yourself, what are your core values? Sum up how you want people to see you in 3 words. For me, these would probably be knowledgeable, approachable, helpful. =================== Writing Wednesday: Want to be a published author but have no idea how to write a book, or started and got stuck? Trini Amador on Values as a Basis for Business Building and Brand Building
In Economics For Entrepreneurs (Mises.org/EntrePod), we will attempt to bring you some usable tools that represent a way to apply economic principles to your business to help you to greater success. Economists talk about individuals embracing values as a guidepost to the right behavior and the right choices. An example of such a value might be Family Security. An individual who holds this value in high esteem will make certain choices about their career, for example, perhaps emphasizing stability over frequent change. Another individual who prefers an exciting life might make the choice of more change, excited by the possibilities it brings. How can entrepreneurs diagnose and understand these idiosyncratic choices and take cognizance and advantage of them in business? This week we talk with Trini Amador, who is an entrepreneur who advises some of the biggest corporations in the world on these mysteries, and has built a highly successful values-based brand of his own.
