Gold Rings For Men Price UPDATE: 03/20/2018
The price of this had dropped significantly since I purchased nearly 2 years ago. I bought it for around $60 back then. It's now selling for $23 on Amazon -- so this does change my mind on this ring regarding its overall worth. I do now recommend it because the price has lowered. It is worth around $25 in my opinion -- it just wasn't worth $60. With that said, here's my original review.
Quick thoughts on Gold Rings For Men: Tungsten Carbide Ring Review, Amazon Rings For Men 8mm Mens With Meteorite Inlay. This is a 14k gold ring that failed to deliver its promise at a $60 price tag range.
I have to tell ya, upon looking through hundreds of gold rings designs, I was VERY excited to get this gold plated ring. I have been waiting a while to find something that really caught my eye. I haven't had my wedding ring for years (lost it!) and always popped in and out of jewelry stores to find something that could replace it, but nothing ever caught my eye and I hate being around pushy sales people who seem to think every gold ring on your finger is "the one!" (Ha!)
Anyway, this 14k gold plated ring caught my eye. When I opened it up, I was expecting to be overwhelmed by the "glamorous" design this ring should have given off for $60. Instead, I was underwhelmed by a shiny gold ring with a piece of tin foil running down the middle. In the photos, the imitation meteorite inlay looks very nice, but in real life, it looks a bit cheesy. Seriously, this gold wedding ring looks like a piece of crumpled tin foil wrapped in yellow gold.
Gold Rings For Men: Tungsten Carbide Ring Review, Amazon Rings For Men 8mm Mens With Meteorite Inlay - Gold Rings Review: It was an unfortunate discovery that while looking at gold rings designs, this gold ring for men didn't deliver the results I was expecting. Perhaps it was because of the price? I mean, for $60, one would expect a gold wedding ring to be much higher quality, even if it's for gold plated. But in my opinion, it's not worth over $25.
Gold Rings For Men: Tungsten Carbide Ring Review, Amazon Rings For Men 8mm Mens With Meteorite Inlay - Gold Rings Review: If you're looking a decent men's wedding band, then you ought to maybe pass this one by in the $60 price range. The gold wedding ring had inspiration which was well thought out, but this gold wedding ring lacked overall execution and is less than to be desired regarding a gold ring for men in the $60 price range.
Gold Rings For Men: Tungsten Carbide Ring Review, Amazon Rings For Men 8mm Mens With Meteorite Inlay - Gold Rings Review: A men's wedding band that did fit well, but upon further inspection, looked more like a costume ring that was polished brightly than a true gold ring for men. That inlay is attractive, but I don't want to have to keep turning it to hide its imperfections!
As I rolled it around on my finger, it fit nicely. It does have a good weight to it (tungsten is a nice solid heavy material), the 14K gold plated finish is nice too -- very shiny. But that meteorite running down the middle is just not worthy of a $60 price tag I paid. As I continued to roll it around my finger, I actually saw a crease of the inner meteorite where it bubbled up slightly, as well as where it likely glued. I thought maybe it wasn't so noticeable -- but it is. I put it on my finger with the crease showing on top and showed my wife the ring on my finger. The first thing she said was "Oh that's pretty... hey, is that metal they used inside or foil? Because I can see the crease."
EPIC FAIL! Watch my video review and you will see the crease.
This gold ring does look expensive from afar, but up close, it looks cheap. Sorry, but that's the truth. It's beautiful in photos, has good weight, and it is shiny -- but that meteorite is not fooling anyone! Seriously, for $60 you can certainly buy so much better. Very disappointed!
