Lot of Mag Scans & Photos - Vera von Lehndorff - Countess Steinort
was born on May 14, 1939 in "Koenigsberg", Germany,
which later changed to "Kaliningrad", Russia. (i love Russia too)
It is a German model, actress and artist, very famous in the '60s & 70s
when she was one of the leading supermodels of the fashion world,
even the highest paid..
My Grandparents also came from Koenigsberg, owned vast tracts
of land & had a forestry..
(East Prussia = "Best" Germans..Genes, smart, never liked Hitler
or any dictator, we think always ourself & true, trustful, loyal &
with behavior, love peace but for freedom we fight hard &
transform to smart Rebels.. no joke hihi)
Veruschka`s Father executed when she was 5years old,
childhood homeless & in a refugee camp..also 13 different schools..
so not a typical rich-b.i.t.c.h !(the reason i made this)
Veruschka is still on catwalk , with over 70years now !
She had (chronical) fears and like(d) sometimes to
smoke weed to relax ;) and she told: "Whoever is happy,
is a Idiot or a saint."
Here is the Interview from 1970 in german:
(also more, if you search at yt "veruschka")
Her father, Heinrich Graf von Lehndorff-Steinort was part of the military
resistance to Adolf Hitler. When she was five, her father was executed
after the failed plot against the life of Hiltler on July 20, 1944. After his
death, the family was sent to a refugee camp until the end of World War II.
After the war, his family had nowhere to live, moving constantly, and in
adolescence she studied in 13 different schools. Veruschka studied art in
Hamburg and then moved to Florence to study design in tissues when, at
age 20, was discovered by a photographer, presented to Eileen Ford,
owner of Ford Models, and became a professional model.
Blonde, super thin, strong strokes and with no less than 1.90 m tall and 43
wearing his exotic type made great success in fashion during the '60s and
'70s, when he became a leading models of the world, parading for fashion
designers, shooting for the cover of the major business publications such
as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar cover story and being twice LIFE magazine, a
leading magazines of the time updates. One of the models and celebrities
more related to the period of Swinging London, along with Twiggy and
Jean Shrimpton, a London that was exported fashion, culture, arts and
lifestyle to the world, its international popularity increased even more by
appearing for a few minutes as she dedicated the film Blow-Up,
Michelangelo Antonioni, who was a classic portrait of that time hedonist.
She worked with Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali and at its peak earned $
10,000 per day. In 1975, however, departed from the world of fashion,
and the following decades she worked sporadically as an actress in some
films, making a few appearances as a mannequin, as in 1995, aged 56,
when she paraded the autumn / winter collection of designer Thierry
Mugler. Today she lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she organizes art events.
