Ubuntu - Installing Java

07:03
Trying to answer several questions at once here in the description. For installation you have many choices depending on the version of Ubuntu you are using. I will list 4 different methods here: 1. Command Terminal Method: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal) First, remove openjdk if it's installed. To so so type: sudo apt-get purge openjdk* Next type these commands: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:eugenesan/java sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer 2. Command Terminal Method: Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner" sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sudo update-alternatives --config java 3. An easy way to do it graphically is with Ubuntu's "Synaptics" package manager tool. First, click "Update" to refresh and update your repositories. Then search for "Java" and "Java plugin". Install the JRE for the VM, JDK if you plan on developing in Java, and the plugin for JApplet and Applet access through FireFox. Check them and click "OK" to confirm and Synaptics will install them. 4. Another easy way is to go to Sun's website and download the .bin/tar file. First, goto http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. Click the "JRE" or "JDK" buttons (I install them both for development). Choose Linux86 for 32-bit Ubuntu and Linux64 for 64-bit Ubuntu. Download the tar.gz file for your version of Ubuntu. Make it executable with: sudo chmod 777 FileName.tar.gz. Decompress it with: sudo gunzip FileName.tar.gz. De-archive it with: sudo tar -xvf FileName.tar. Run the installation (.bin) file and chmod if necessary. Remember to use the "./", for example: sudo ./install.bin . I also highly recommend downloading and installing NetBeans - a great free compiler that does Java, C++, HTML, PHP and many other things. Download it and install it the same way you would install the JRE and JDK from Oracle.

The Java programming language was developed by a small team of engineers, known as the Green Team, who initiated the language in 1991. The Java language was originally called OAK, and at the time it was designed for handheld devices and set-top boxes. Oak was unsuccessful and in 1995 Sun changed the name to Java and modified the language to take advantage of the burgeoning World Wide Web. Later, in 2009, Oracle Corporation acquired Sun Microsystems and took ownership of two key Sun software assets: Java and Solaris. Today the Java platform is a commonly used foundation for developing and delivering content on the web. According to Oracle, there are more than 9 million Java developers worldwide and more than 3 billion mobile phones run Java. In 2014 one of the most significant changes to the Java language was launched with Java SE 8. Changes included additional functional programming features, parallel processing using streams and improved integration with JavaScript. The 20th anniversary of commercial Java was celebrated in 2015. Java is an Object-Oriented Language Java is defined as an object-oriented language similar to C++, but simplified to eliminate language features that cause common programming errors. The source code files (files with a .java extension) are compiled into a format called bytecode (files with a .class extension), which can then be executed by a Java interpreter. Compiled Java code can run on most computers because Java interpreters and runtime environments, known as Java Virtual Machines (VMs), exist for most operating systems, including UNIX, the Macintosh OS, and Windows. Bytecode can also be converted directly into machine language instructions by a just-in-time compiler (JIT). In 2007, most Java technologies were released under the GNU General Public License. #Java on the Web Java is a general purpose programming language with a number of features that make the language well suited for use on the World Wide Web. Small Java applications are called Java applets and can be downloaded from a Web server and run on your computer by a Java-compatible Web browser. Applications and websites using Java will not work unless Java is installed on your device. When you download Java, the software contains the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) which is needed to run in a Web browser. A component of the JRE, the Java Plug-in software allows Java applets to run inside various browsers Java Tutorial from Basics to Advance, java basics for beginners, advanced java tutorial,Java Programming Tutorial, java tutorials for beginners, java programming tutorial for beginners,Java Tutorial for Beginners, java, java programming, java programming for beginners, java tutorials, java (programming language),java video tutorial, java strings, advanced java tutorial for beginners, learn java programming examples, java programming for beginners tutorial #JavaTutorial #Javaprogramming

Its very easy just follow the steps: 1::Download the Oracle Java JDK for Linux. Make sure you select the correct compressed binaries for your system architecture 32-bit or 64-bit (which end in tar.gz). For example, if you are on Ubuntu Linux 32-bit operating system download 32-bit Oracle Java binaries. For example, if you are on Ubuntu Linux 64-bit operating system download 64-bit Oracle Java binaries. Optional, Download the Oracle Java JDK Documentation Select jdk-8u20-apidocs.zip Important Information: 64-bit Oracle Java binaries do not work on 32-bit Ubuntu Linux operating systems, you will receive multiple system error messages, if you attempt to install 64-bit Oracle Java on 32-bit Ubuntu Linux. 2::Copy the Oracle Java binaries into the /usr/local/java directory. In most cases, the Oracle Java binaries are downloaded to: /home/"your_user_name"/Downloads. 32-bit Oracle Java on 32-bit Ubuntu Linux installation instructions: Type/Copy/Paste: cd /home/"your_user_name"/Downloads Type/Copy/Paste: sudo cp -r jdk-8u20-linux-i586.tar.gz /usr/local/java/ Type/Copy/Paste: cd /usr/local/java 64-bit Oracle Java on 64-bit Ubuntu Linux installation instructions: Type/Copy/Paste: cd /home/"your_user_name"/Downloads Type/Copy/Paste: sudo cp -r jdk-8u20-linux-x64.tar.gz /usr/local/java/ Type/Copy/Paste: cd /usr/local/java 3::Unpack the compressed Java binaries, in the directory /usr/local/java 32-bit Oracle Java on 32-bit Ubuntu Linux installation instructions: Type/Copy/Paste: sudo tar xvzf jdk-8u20-linux-i586.tar.gz 64-bit Oracle Java on 64-bit Ubuntu Linux installation instructions: Type/Copy/Paste: sudo tar xvzf jdk-8u20-linux-x64.tar.gz 4::Double-check your directories. At this point, you should have two uncompressed binary directories in /usr/local/java for the Java JDK/JRE listed as: Type/Copy/Paste: ls -a jdk1.8.0_20 jre1.8.0_20 5::Edit the system PATH file /etc/profile and add the following system variables to your system path. Use nano, gedit or any other text editor, as root, open up /etc/profile. Type/Copy/Paste: sudo gedit /etc/profile or Type/Copy/Paste: sudo nano /etc/profile 6::Scroll down to the end of the file using your arrow keys and add the following lines below to the end of your /etc/profile file: Type/Copy/Paste: JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java/jdk1.8.0_20 PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin export JAVA_HOME export PATH 7::Save the /etc/profile file and exit. 8::Inform your Ubuntu Linux system where your Oracle Java JDK/JRE is located. CVE-2010-3552 : Sun Java Runtime New Plugin docbase Buffer Overflow

03:59
Blog : http://eromang.zataz.com Twitter : http://twitter.com/eromang Sun Java Runtime New Plugin docbase Buffer Overflow CVE-2010-3552 ZDI-10-206 This module exploits a flaw in the new plugin component of the Sun Java Runtime Environment before v6 Update 22. By specifying specific parameters to the new plugin, an attacker can cause a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code. When the new plugin is invoked with a "launchjnlp" parameter, it will copy the contents of the "docbase" parameter to a stack-buffer using the "sprintf" function. A string of 396 bytes is enough to overflow the 256 byte stack buffer and overwrite some local variables as well as the saved return address. NOTE: The string being copied is first passed through the "WideCharToMultiByte". Due to this, only characters which have a valid localized multibyte representation are allowed. Invalid characters will be replaced with question marks ('?'). This vulnerability was originally discovered independently by both Stephen Fewer and Berend Jan Wever (SkyLined). Although exhaustive testing hasn't been done, all versions since version 6 Update 10 are believed to be affected by this vulnerability. This vulnerability was patched as part of the October 2010 Oracle Patch release. Some Web sites still deliver JRE V6 Update 20 Tested on Windows 7 Integral Edition with JRE V6 Update 20

How to Install Oracle Java Development Kit(JDK) On Windows 7/8/10

03:26
This tutorial has everything you need to know about installing JDK 8 on Windows. If you’re new to Java, I’ll show you how to setup the Java Development Kit. And if you’re a Java pro? I’ll highlight the needed links that you can use to download the installer. Bottom line: If you want to get up and running with Java, you’ll love this tutorial. JDK Download & Install Java is a computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based and object-oriented. Java applications compile to bytecode (class file) that can then run on a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). James Gosling created Java at Sun Microsystems. It is currently owned by the Oracle Corporation. Consult following posts if you are looking to download and install JDK 1.5, JDK 1.6, JDK 1.7, JDK 1.9 or JDK 1.10. Java can be obtained from the Oracle Java download page. There are a number of different Java packages available, for this tutorial we will be installing Java Standard Edition (SE) on Windows. In order to be able to compile Java code, we need the Java Development Kit (JDK) package that comes with a Java compiler. The JDK package also comes with a Java runtime environment (JRE) that is needed to run compiled Java code. Scroll to the Java SE 8u171/ 8u172 section in the middle of the Oracle Java download pageand click on the Download button right below JDK. Then look for the Java SE Development Kit 8u172 section. Here is the direct link to download the jdk 8u172 installer for Windows 32 or 64 bit. Accept the License Agreement and pick the correct download for your operating system. In this example, we will use the Windows 64 bit version. Sign in using your Oracle account (or create a new one) and the download should start. Once the download is complete, locate the jdk-8u172-windows-x64.exe file and double-click to run the installer. Click Next and on the following screen optionally change the installation location by clicking on the Change... button. In this example the default install location of 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_172\' was kept. From now on we will refer to this directory as: [java_install_dir]. We will not install the public JRE as the JDK Development tools include a private JRE that can run developed code. Select the Public JRE dropdown and click on This feature will not be available. as shown below. Click Next and then Close to finish installing Java. JDK Configuration In order for Java applications to be able to run we need to setup a 'JAVA_HOME' environment variable that will point to the Java installation directory. In addition, if we want to run Java commands from a command prompt we need to setup the 'PATH' environment variable to contain the Java bin directory. When using Windows the above parameters can be configured on the Environment Variables panel. Click on the Windows Startbutton and enter “env” without quotes as shown below. Environment variables can be set at account level or at system level. For this example click on Edit environment variables for your account and following panel should appear. Click on the New button and enter “JAVA_HOME” as variable name and the [java_install_dir] as variable value. In this tutorial the installation directory is 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_172'. Click OK to to save. #INSTALLING#JAVA#JDK

How to install java on Windows 7/8 ( 64bit/32bit)

Direct Link : 1) Java Win 32 bit : http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/8u60-b27/jdk-8u60-windows-i586.exe 2) Java Win 64 bit : http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/8u60-b27/jdk-8u60-windows-x64.exe This is a guide for those who receive " 'Java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. " This video works for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It also is the same for 64bit and 32bit. The download on the Java page applies to both 32Bit and 64Bit. The only difference is when you install it on 64Bit it will install into \Program Files (x86)\Java If you are on Windows XP once you have Right clicked My computer -- Properties you will need to click on the "Advanced" tab to see Environment Variables. If you have the same problem with RSbot, or this error with another Java application this will probably be the fix for it. If you are trying to compile with things suck as RSbot or an RSPS then instead of downloading JRE download JDK from https://java.com/en/download/ And find the install destination from that after installed, and use that as the Variable path. Install JDK 8

02:50
Java Development Kit (JDK), officially named "Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE)", which is freely available from Sun Microsystems (now part of Oracle), is needed for writing Java programs. The mother site for JDK (Java SE) is http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html. "JDK" or "JRE"? JRE (Java Runtime) is needed for running Java programs. JDK (Java Development Kit), which includes JRE plus the development tools (such as compiler and debugger), is need for writing as well as running Java programs. In other words, JRE is a subset of JDK. Since you are supposed to write Java Programs, you should install JDK, which includes JRE. Run the downloaded installer (e.g., "jdk-8u{xx}-windows-x64.exe"), which installs both the JDK and JRE. By default, the JDK will be installed in directory "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_xx", where xx denotes the upgrade number; and JRE in "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_xx". Accept the defaults and follow the screen instructions to install JDK and JRE.

Java Introduction cove Java vs Adv.Java and J2SE, vs J2EE vs J2ME.

04:50
Java is a programming language. It was first developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems, which is now a part of Oracle Corporation. It was released in 1995 as a part of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language has developed much of its syntax from C and C++. Java applications are usually compiled to bytecode (class file) that can run on any Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Java is currently one of the most popular programming languages being used. It has about 10 million users. The primary goals in the creation of the Java language: ============================================= It is simple. It is object-oriented. It is independent of the host platform. It contains language facilities and libraries for networking. It is designed to execute code from remote sources securely. The Java language introduces some new features that did not exist in other languages like C and C++. Initial Release versions 1.0 and 1.1 ============================= Introduced in 1996 for the Solaris, Windows, Mac OS Classic and Linux, Java was initially released as the Java Development Kit 1.0 (JDK 1.0). This included the Java runtime (the virtual machine and the class libraries), and the development tools (e.g., the Java compiler). Later, Sun also provided a runtime-only package, called the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The first name stuck, however, so usually people refer to a particular version of Java by its JDK version (e.g., JDK 1.0). Spider version 1.8.0; Java SE 8 ========================= Java 8 was released on 18 March 2014, and included some features that were planned for Java 7 but later deferred.Work on features was organized in terms of JDK Enhancement Proposals (JEPs).JSR 335, JEP 126: Language-level support for lambda expressions (officially, lambda expressions; unofficially, closures) under Project Lambda which allow the addition of methods to interfaces without breaking existing implementations. There was an ongoing debate in the Java community on whether to add support for lambda expressions. Supporting lambda expressions also allows the performance of functional-style operations on streams of elements, such as MapReduce-inspired transformations on collections. Default methods allow an author of an API to add new methods to an interface without breaking the old code using it. Although it was not their primary intent, default methods also allow multiple inheritance of behavior (but not state). JSR 223, JEP 174: Project Nashorn, a JavaScript runtime which allows developers to embed JavaScript code within applications JSR 308, JEP 104: Annotation on Java Types Unsigned Integer Arithmetic JSR 337, JEP 120: Repeating annotations JSR 310, JEP 150: Date and Time API JEP 178: Statically-linked JNI libraries JEP 153: Launch JavaFX applications (direct launching of JavaFX application JARs) JEP 122: Remove the permanent generation In most people's opinions, Java technology delivers reasonably well on all these goals. The language is not, however, without drawbacks. Java tends to be more high-level than similar languages (such as C++), which means that the Java language lacks features such as hardware-specific data types, low-level pointers to arbitrary memory addresses, or programming methods like operator overloading. Although these features are frequently abused or misused by programmers, they are also powerful tools. However, Java technology includes Java Native Interface (JNI), a way to call native code from Java language code. With JNI, it is still possible to use some of these features. Some programmers also complain about its lack of multiple inheritance, a powerful feature of several object-oriented languages, among others C++. The Java language separates inheritance of type and implementation, allowing inheritance of multiple type definitions through interfaces, but only single inheritance of type implementation via class hierarchies. This allows most of the benefits of multiple inheritance while avoiding many of its dangers. In addition, through the use of concrete classes, abstract classes, as well as interfaces, a Java language programmer has the option of choosing full, partial, or zero implementation for the object type he defines, thus ensuring maximum flexibility in application design. There are some who believe that for certain projects, object orientation makes work harder instead of easier. This particular complaint is not unique to the Java language but applies to other object-oriented languages as well.

Java Tutorial For Beginners 3 Variables1

Java is a computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere" (WORA), meaning that code that runs on one platform does not need to be recompiled to run on another. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode (class file) that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. Java is, as of 2014, one of the most popular programming languages in use, particularly for client-server web applications, with a reported 9 million developers.[10][11] Java was originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which has since merged into Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++, but it has fewer low-level facilities than either of them. The original and reference implementation Java compilers, virtual machines, and class libraries were developed by Sun from 1991 and first released in 1995. As of May 2007, in compliance with the specifications of the Java Community Process, Sun relicensed most of its Java technologies under the GNU General Public License. Others have also developed alternative implementations of these Sun technologies, such as the GNU Compiler for Java (bytecode compiler), GNU Classpath (standard libraries), and IcedTea-Web (browser plugin for applets). James Gosling, Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton initiated the Java language project in June 1991.[12] Java was originally designed for interactive television, but it was too advanced for the digital cable television industry at the time.[13] The language was initially called Oak after an oak tree that stood outside Goslings office; it went by the name Green later, and was later renamed Java, from Java coffee,[14] said to be consumed in large quantities by the languages creators.[citation needed] Gosling aimed to implement a virtual machine and a language that had a familiar C/C++ style of notation.[15] Sun Microsystems released the first public implementation as Java 1.0 in 1995.[1] It promised "Write Once, Run Anywhere" (WORA), providing no-cost run-times on popular platforms. Fairly secure and featuring configurable security, it allowed network- and file-access restrictions. Major web browsers soon incorporated the ability to run Java applets within web pages, and Java quickly became popular. With the advent of Java 2 (released initially as J2SE 1.2 in December 1998 -- 1999), new versions had multiple configurations built for different types of platforms. For example, J2EE targeted enterprise applications and the greatly stripped-down version J2ME for mobile applications (Mobile Java). J2SE designated the Standard Edition. In 2006, for marketing purposes, Sun renamed new J2 versions as Java EE, Java ME, and Java SE, respectively. In 1997, Sun Microsystems approached the ISO/IEC JTC1 standards body and later the Ecma International to formalize Java, but it soon withdrew from the process.[16] Java remains a de facto standard, controlled through the Java Community Process.[17] At one time, Sun made most of its Java implementations available without charge, despite their proprietary software status. Sun generated revenue from Java through the selling of licenses for specialized products such as the Java Enterprise System. Sun distinguishes between its Software Development Kit (SDK) and Runtime Environment (JRE) (a subset of the SDK); the primary distinction involves the JREs lack of the compiler, utility programs, and header files. On November 13, 2006, Sun released much of Java as free and open source software, (FOSS), under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). On May 8, 2007, Sun finished the process, making all of Javas core code available under free software/open-source distribution terms, aside from a small portion of code to which Sun did not hold the copyright.[18] Suns vice-president Rich Green said that Suns ideal role with regards to Java was as an "evangelist."[19] Following Oracle Corporations acquisition of Sun Microsystems in 2009--2010, Oracle has described itself as the "steward of Java technology with a relentless commitment to fostering a community of participation and transparency".[20] This did not hold Oracle, however, from filing a lawsuit against Google shortly after that for using Java inside the Android SDK (see Google section below). Java software runs on everything from laptops to data centers, game consoles to scientific supercomputers. There are 930 million Java Runtime Environment downloads each year and 3 billion mobile phones run Java.[21] On April 2, 2010, James Gosling resigned from Oracle

This video contains all information about java jdk, jre & jvm. what is JDK ? The Java Development Kit (JDK) is an implementation of either one of the Java Platform, Standard Edition, Java Platform, Enterprise Edition, or Java Platform, Micro Edition platforms[1] released by Oracle Corporation in the form of a binary product aimed at Java developers on Solaris, Linux, macOS or Windows. The JDK includes a private JVM and a few other resources to finish the development of a Java Application.[2] Since the introduction of the Java platform, it has been by far the most widely used Software Development Kit (SDK).[citation needed] On 17 November 2006, Sun announced that they would release it under the GNU General Public License (GPL), thus making it free software. This happened in large part on 8 May 2007, when Sun contributed the source code to the OpenJDK. what is JRE ? The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is a set of software tools for development of Java applications. It combines the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), platform core classes and supporting libraries. JRE is part of the Java Development Kit (JDK), but can be downloaded separately. JRE was originally developed by Sun Microsystems Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation. what is JVM ? A Java virtual machine (JVM) is a virtual machine that enables a computer to run Java programs as well as programs written in other languages and compiled to Java bytecode. The JVM is detailed by a specification that formally describes what is required of a JVM implementation. Having a specification ensures interoperability of Java programs across different implementations so that program authors using the Java Development Kit (JDK) need not worry about idiosyncrasies of the underlying hardware platform.

Java FULL TUTORIAL PART 4

01:36:52
What is Java technology and why do I need it? Java is a programming language and computing platform first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. There are lots of applications and websites that will not work unless you have Java installed, and more are created every day. Java is fast, secure, and reliable. From laptops to datacenters, game consoles to scientific supercomputers, cell phones to the Internet, Java is everywhere! Is Java free to download? Yes, Java is free to download. Get the latest version at java.com. If you are building an embedded or consumer device and would like to include Java, please contact Oracle for more information on including Java in your device. Why should I upgrade to the latest Java version? The latest Java version contains important enhancements to improve performance, stability and security of the Java applications that run on your machine. Installing this free update will ensure that your Java applications continue to run safely and efficiently. MORE TECHNICAL INFORMATION What will I get when I download Java software? The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is what you get when you download Java software. The JRE consists of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), Java platform core classes, and supporting Java platform libraries. The JRE is the runtime portion of Java software, which is all you need to run it in your Web browser. What is Java Plug-in software? The Java Plug-in software is a component of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The JRE allows applets written in the Java programming language to run inside various browsers. The Java Plug-in software is not a standalone program and cannot be installed separately. I have heard the terms Java Virtual Machine and JVM. Is this Java software? The Java Virtual Machine is only one aspect of Java software that is involved in web interaction. The Java Virtual Machine is built right into your Java software download, and helps run Java applications. THE VIDEOS CRESTED BY ME IS ONLY FOR EDUCATIONAL URPOSE AM NOT RISPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTION .

Project Panama’s Foreign API

43:07
Maurizio Cimadamore, Oracle Project Panama is about getting the Java runtime closer to the hardware system (or metal) so it can perform more efficiently and developers can be more productive. A key component of Project Panama is the Foreign API, a foreign function interface that aims to provide a superior alternative to JNI. Developers can bind Java interfaces to native methods and write platform-specific Java code to those interfaces with no need for Java native methods and writing platform-specific code in C or C++. This session explains the Panama Foreign API and presents examples. Developers will come away with a good understanding of the API and will have the knowledge to experiment with early-access builds.
