10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

Thalattoarchon - As of this video, not a whole lot is known about the Thalattoarchon, considering it was only discovered about 4 years ago. Thalassomedon - If the Loch Ness monster was real, then cross your fingers that it isn’t a Thalassomedon. Giant Pacific Octopus - At up to 30 feet long, from head to the tip of its tentacles, and weighing anywhere around 130 to 165 lbs. Nothosaurus - The Nothosaurus were notorious predators during the Triassic era, as they are known to have been blitz hunters, in that they preferred attacking swiftly and by surprise to capture their prey. Giant Squid - Jaekelopterus - The Jaekelopterus is the kind of creature that you can usually find in science fiction stories. Tanystropheus - At 20 feet long and with a weight clocking around at only 0.4 tons, the Tanystropheus doesn’t look like it’s much of a threat compared to the other creatures on this list. Giant Oarfish - Oarfish are a pretty rare sight in the world today, which gave way to the superstition that there’s a disaster coming when they wash ashore. Liopleurodon - The Liopleurodon is the perfect poster boy for nightmares that could be found in the oceans prehistoric or otherwise. Dakosaurus - This monster from the Jurassic period is believed by experts to be similar to modern day crocodiles. Edestus - The Edestus is a prehistoric shark that lived around 300 million years ago, in an era known as the Carboniferus period. Shastasaurus - The Shastasaurus is another one of the Triassic period’s giant marine monsters. This 65-foot long reptile belonged to the Ichthyosaur family and weighed somewhere around 5 tons. Mosasaurus - If you've seen Jurassic world, you'll recognize this creature. Though, back when it was alive, it was a surface dweller, rather than a performing monkey at an extremely dangerous amusement park. Tylosaurus - The Tylosaurus is what you could call a close cousin of the Mosasaurus. young.Whale Shark - Whale sharks, if anything, hold the right to bear the title of “gentle giant.” Sperm Whale - Sperm whales can grow up to lengths of 67 feet and can weigh approximately 45 tons. Basilosaurus - Despite its name suggesting that it’s a reptile, the Basilosaurus is actually an ancestor of the modern day whale. Fin Whale - Fin Whales are known as the second-largest animal in the world, which is just right behind the Blue Whale – another entry in this list – in terms of size. Blue Whale - Blue whales are the largest animals known to man. Standing at around 90 feet long, with a weight reaching up to 200 tons, these aquatic marvels are also becoming rarer and rarer in the world today. Megalodon - Despite being slightly smaller than the blue whale, its maximum size is still heavily debated, and given its ferociousness, you'd probably be frightened into thinking it was bigger than any other creature in this video.

10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!

12:03
Check out these 10 sea monsters attacking a boat! This top 10 list of ocean creatures like whales and great white sharks attacking a ship shows some bizarre stories caught on camera! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Great White Shark If you’ve been on a boat out on the ocean, a Jaws attack has probably crossed your mind. Even if it’s just barely!! Then of course you rationalize that the chances of that happening are practically 0. Practically. That’s what Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman learned in 2017, when a great white shark leapt out of the water, into his boat!! 9. An Eagle Ray Rays seem like beautiful, serene creatures - but they can be extremely dangerous, even if you’re on the relative safety of a large tourist boat. In 2011, Jenny Hausch had rented a 26-foot catamaran for her family to take a trip in Florida. Sounds really nice right? 8. Swordfish In 2017, Alan Pope, a British tourist, was on a boat trip getting ready to go snorkeling in Indonesia when everything went horribly wrong. Without any warning, a swordfish jumped out of the water and into the boat, and impaled his neck with its bill. The end snapped off, and left six inches of the sword still jabbed inside his neck, just millimeters from instantly killing him. 7. Sperm Whales The Gulf of Alaska is a prime fishing location, especially for those trying to catch black cod. In these waters, though, there is a much larger creature that also likes eating the fish- sperm whales. They are the ocean’s largest toothed predators, and while they are quite capable of catching food for themselves, they much prefer taking the easy route. 6. Giant Squid Mostly creatures of legend, giant squids are mentioned in many old mariners tales of dangers at sea. But they are rarely seen, let alone involved in attacking boats. So when a team of French sailors came face to face with one in 2003, they almost didn’t believe it!! 5. Bull Shark You might think that a great white shark would be the most problematic shark species to boats, but there’s another type that can be more aggressive, and more likely to risk an encounter. 4. Jellyfish Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can have the biggest effect, something that became ever so apparent in 2017 when Chinese scientists were investigating why their aircraft carriers were experiencing difficulties. They found that large swarms of Jellyfish were getting caught up in the propulsion systems! This would stop the ships dead in their tracks, or cause the engines to overheat and cause extreme damage. 3. Mako Shark This next story took place just last year, 2017 in Long Island, New York. A fishing charter boat was taking guests to the location where they find the widest variety of fish, when suddenly a Mako shark jumped onto the side of the boat. Unfortunately for the fish, it managed to get itself stuck in the handrail of the boat and, despite thrashing about, it couldn’t free itself. 2. Black Marlin Game fishing is a popular pastime for many enthusiasts, but when you’re chasing after some of the largest and most powerful marine creatures on earth, you have to be ready for the unpredictable. Again last year, things went very wrong indeed for a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. They had caught a black marlin, a species that can weight up to 1500 pounds and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. 1. Killer Whale If you’ve ever watched a nature documentary that’s featured Killer Whales, you’ll be all too familiar how organised and clever they can be. Pods work together to catch prey, and even tilt ice flows to trap seals. When they turn these skills towards human activity, the results can be frightening. UB-85 vs. Sea Monster Coming in at number 5 is probably one of the most well known accounts of a sea monster wreaking havoc on a submarine. In World War I, German submarines prowled the Atlantic just looking for trouble. Little did they know, other subs were the least of their worries. On April 30, 1918, the UB-85 was discovered by a British patrol boat named Coreopsis floating on top of the water. 4. U-28 Schmidt vs. Sea Monster Up next at number four is the battle of the U-28 Schmidt. Though mystery still surrounds the UB-85 attack, it wasn’t the only one to experience a sea monster during World War I. The U-28 Schmidt also had a terrifying ordeal on July 30, 1915. The U-28 Schmidt was prowling around outside Fastnet Rock near Ireland when it came upon a British steamer Iberian. 3. Edward Brian McCleary vs. Sea Monster Sliding in at number three is a battle recounted by Edward Brian McCleary that proves sea monsters don’t just have a thing for the Germans, apparently they love to scare teenagers, too. On March 24th, 1962 five teenage friends named Eric, Warren, Larry, Brad and Edward set out to see the USS Massachusetts that had been sunk by the navy off the coast of Pensacola after it was decommissioned. To them, it seemed like the perfect place to scuba dive. 2. Bambataska Bay Fishermen vs. Sea Monster Number two on our list is the fight of the Bambataska Bay Fisherman. One night in 1889, four villagers of Majanga were out fishing in their long canoe when a fierce serpentine head came blasting up from the water. They estimated it to be around 100 feet long, thick as a barrel with a snake shaped head and large dark green scales. The fisherman began to row to shore as quick as they could but before they could reach land the sea monster snatched the canoe into its jaws and sent the men flying. 1.Armament of Hingham vs. Sea Monster Finally, rounding out our list at number one is the battle featuring the Armament of Hingham off the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts. This attack might be lesser known, but it is definitely just as mysterious. On May 16, 1818 Joseph Woodward aboard the fishing boat Armament of Hingham recounted his frightening interaction with a sea serpent in an article published in the Essex Patriot.

12 BIGGEST Legendary Sea Monsters

11:02
From the Kraken who’s waiting to be released! To the demon like merman with the body of a shark, here are 12 Biggest Legendary Sea Monsters Subscribe to American Eye NOW 6. Moby Dick This is the whale featured in one of the greatest American novels of all time by Herman Melville, Moby Dick or the Whale that bit off the captain, Ahab’s leg at the knee. This giant whale, is described by Ishmael as having a peculiar snow white wrinkled forehead with high pyramidical white hump. The rest of its body was striped with patches of white and gray. It was never mentioned exactly how large it was but this was claimed to be the largest sperm whale in existence. Sperm whales can grow up to 90 feet so we imagine maybe twice that size. A ferocious sperm whale was found off the coast of Chile, in the 1830’s that was rumored to have taken 20 harpoons to take her down. 5. Adaro Imagine mermaids being a little more demon-like and that’s basically what an adaro is. This creature is apart of mythology from the Solomon Islands and are described as a man will gills behind his ears, tail fins for feet, a horn like a shark's dorsal fin with a sword fish growing out of his head like see in this photo. Doesn’t sound too inviting! They’re supposedly very dangerous like you could imagine and they come from the evil side of a person’s spirit. They travel in tropical storms and along rainbows and prey upon unsuspecting fishermen. 4. Ogopogo Also known as the Naitaka, is a cryptid lake monster said to live in lake Okanagan, British Columbia and was spotted by the natives of the land, known as first nations since the 19th century. It’s described as being 40-50 feet long. A cryptozoologists thought that it’s possible that the tribes were misinterpreting common animals such groups of eels, otters, and floating logs. Another sighting occurred in 1926 by about 30 people who all saw the same exact thing, and believed it was a legendary creature. More people are just claiming that their logs again after a mysterious video was made public in 2011. Could all these mysterious sitings really just be logs. Would it be too farfetched to believe a prehistoric creature, undisturbed by man lives in an isolated lake? Ogopogo has become a hit in pop culture especially in the local area. 3. The Megalodon Now we know that megaladon’s do exist but the real question is, are there possibly a few still out there somewhere? Probably not but legends certainly seem to float around quite often that these monsters are still lurking the oceans, somewhere. If you’re not frightened by a giant, 60 foot shark we’re not exactly sure what will. This thing was roaming the seas about 23 to 2.6 million years ago with gaping jaw over large enough that a person could stand inside, like we see here. Each tooth is about the size of your hand and they had 276 of these. They could certainly swallow you whole in one gulp without even taking a bite.. This is considered to be the most powerful vertebrate predator in the history of all time. These guys ate whales for breakfast and sea cows for a snack. Fossils of whales show huge bites ripped out of them. This beast needed a massive amount of food to stay alive and it certainly got just that when it was able to spot a potential prey with also the most powerful bite of any known species. This thing was just as fierce as you could possibly imagine. 2. Aspidochelene This fabled sea creature is actually a giant sea turtle that appears as an island or whale at first glance. When sailors get too close to this creature, it then destroys their ship. There are a few cultures that refer to this creature including the Inuit of Greenland, that would tip over the boats into freezing waters, causing the sailors to die as well as the one in Chile, that just simply devours everything in it’s path. Also interestingly enough, the name of the island in the pacific called tortuga literally translates to turtle because the Spanish because of the shape of the island while coming in on boat.. This cargo ship you see here in this slightly photoshopped photo is in serious trouble and is heading straight for a massive turtle monster in the ocean! While exploring the oceans, it easy to see how the unknown could lead to legends especially to scare new shipmates. 1. Humanoid Mermaids These legendary creatures with the lower half of fish and the upper half of a beautiful woman, are thought to be a part of the lustful imagination of sailors who’ve spent too much time out on the sea. However, coming across one wasn’t such a good sign. They were often thought to be a bad omen and these creatures would distract sailors, forcing them to crash into a cliffside or rock. While it might sound like an interesting tale, there have been sightings of mermaids all around the world and date as far back as 2000 BC during the Babylonian times. Here we see the Babylonian deity known as Oannes, the fish god. As a part

FRIENDLIEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Sea Lions Sea Lions have long been associated with friendly interactions with humans, so much so that they form a large part of Peruvian culture- having been worshipped by the people there and depicted in numerous artworks. They are highly intelligent animals, which means they can learn tricks to entertain crowds, and are quite curious so they will often swim up alongside humans and play with them in the water. They are also used by the US military to assist SCUBA diving teams look for underwater mines and, in some instances, detain divers who have accessed restricted areas until authorities can arrive. Sea lions and dolphins are used as combat marine units and sea lions especially, have excellent eyesight. Sea lions are hardy, smart, and trainable and they have the added advantage that they are amphibious and can easily hand things to their handlers. This all makes Sea Lions sound like gentle creatures, but it’s important to know that sea lions have another side to them. If they aren’t treated well or respectfully, they can become quite aggressive. This can also happen with male Sea Lions because they are very territorial during mating season. If it looks like you’re bothering one then stay away but, if not, they are one of the friendliest sea creatures you’ll ever meet. 9. Beluga Whale Beluga Whales are native to the Arctic and sub-arctic, and are uniquely adapted to the cold waters. They are white in color, don’t have a dorsal fin, and have an enlarged head, which contains an organ called a melon that is used for echolocation. Beluga’s were actually the first type of whale to be kept in captivity, with the first being shown at Barnum’s museum in New York in 1861. To this day they are still the most commonly seen animal in marine parks across North America, Europe and Asia- mainly because they are much smaller than other species of whale and easier to contain. They are also a hit with visitors because of their unusual colour and wide range of facial expressions. They are really curious about the people who visit them, and often perform in shows with trainers who they develop deep bonds with. Since 1992 it has been forbidden to capture Belugas in Canada because of concerns for the population numbers in the wild, so now most of them come from Russia. They are so popular that each one can cost as much as 100,000 dollars. Whale watching tours are a great way to see them in their natural habitat, but it’s important for the boat not to get too close to them because of the way it can interrupt their daily activities. Quite often they enjoy interacting with the boats so much that they get distracted from things like feeding, social interaction with their own species, and breeding. They get so caught up in the moment, they forget what they’re supposed to be doing!! 8. Whale Shark You might not think a shark with a five-foot-wide mouth and more than 3,000 teeth would be the friendliest of creatures, but whale sharks are the most gentle of all shark species. They pose no threat to humans at all, and are usually pretty welcoming to those who want to swim alongside them. Despite their huge mouth, their throats are only the width of a US quarter, and they only eat tiny micro-organisms. Their average speed through the water is about 3 miles per hour, so they are easy to keep up with, and in a lot of tourist areas they are used to the presence of humans in the water, and don’t really seem to be bothered. Cancun is one of the best places to swim with these giants of the ocean, where you’ll really feel small next to a 65-foot-long and 12 ton fish. There really is nothing quite like being surrounded by a few of them, and the experience draws tourists from all over the world. If you visit “Las Afueras” you’ll even have a chance to be amongst a feeding frenzy of hundreds of them, which is a spectacular feat of nature. 7. Manatees Manatees, or sea cows, are also known as gentle giants, and it’s clear to see why. They are fully aquatic and feed mainly on plant life that they sift from the water. They can grow to up to 13-feet-long, weigh about 1,300 pounds, and push their way through the water with their paddle like limbs. 13 BIGGEST Sea Monsters Ever Part 2!

11:36
From a real life Moby Dick … to sea creatures as big as islands … here are 13 of the BIGGEST sea monsters ever Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife #9 St Brendan & the Devil Whale We couldn’t find any exact dimensions for this legendary sea creature … except that it be about the size of an island, and was big enough to swallow ships in their entirety. So let’s just say it must have been an enormous beast. It was first chronicled by St. Brendan, an Irish monk who was later canonized. He may be most renowned for his Legendary Journey which is thought to have occurred sometime between the years 512 and 530 (the precise dates are still disputed). But during this voyage, he is said to have landed on an island that actually turned out to be a sea monster named “Jasconius” (or Jasco). Similar stories show up in Irish mythology, as well as in the adventures of Sinbad the Sailor. #8 Yacu-Mama In a bit of a departure, we’ll focus on a monster found in a freshwater habitat. This creature is located in South America where it is said to guard the mouth of the Amazon Basin, in addition to other lagoons. It’s found in the folklore of indigenous peoples there … and is described as an aquatic beast that measures more than 100 feet long. In order to protect themselves, native peoples would blow on a conch horn to make the critter revel itself if it was in the water. According to legend, this is the mother of all aquatic creatures … and would attack any living thing that ventured within its territory. It’s also thought to assume the form of a giant anaconda known as the Minhocao (MEEN-oh-kow) #7 Cadborosaurus (kad-BOR-oh-sore-us) Nicknamed Caddy, this refers to a sea serpent that appears in folk tales from areas of North American Pacific Coast. The name actually originates from British Columbia’s Cadboro Bay, combined with the Greek word ‘saurus’, meaning reptile or lizard. Witnesses claim the beast has a horse-like head, long neck, small front flippers, and a large fan-like tail that allows it to powerfully propel itself in the water. Images similar to this critter’s description appeared in the culture of Alaska’s indigenous peoples, including the Aleut (ahl-EE-oot) … they keep a likeness of Caddy on their canoes to keep the monster away. Over the past 200 years, there have been around 300 claimed sightings of this beast. In many cases, other creatures including sea lions, basking sharks and giant oarfish have been mistaken for Cadborosaurus. The mistaken identities have also included the carcasses of elephant seals and basking sharks that have washed ashore. #6 Scylla and Charybdis (kuh-RIB-dus) These are two separate creatures, but they’re so strongly connected that we’ll feature them in the same segment. Scylla was a monster that lived on one side of a narrow channel of water, across from Charybdis. It’s described as a sea monster with several heads that feasted on sailors who ventured too close to its domain. There is no clear description of the Charybdis, other than it was a massive sea creature capable of generating huge whirlpools that could destroy entire ships. If you tried avoiding one monster, the other one would get you, and vice versa. Because of that, their names have been immortalized in the expression, ‘Trapped between Scylla and Charybdis’ … it refers to a situation where you’re trapped between two dangerous circumstances with no apparent way out. But as Homer described in The Odyssey, Odysseus did eventually manage to escape both creatures, but at the cost of his ship and crew. #5 Moby Dick While the exact dimensions of the titular whale are never divulged in the novel, Herman Melville does mention that Moby Dick is the largest sperm whale ever … and those creatures were said to measure some 90 feet long. That’s according to the novel, though … the largest size for a sperm whale is thought to be close to 70 feet, max. Still a huge beast, although maybe some dramatic license there. But Melville’s inspiration for the white whale was actually based on the accounts of a real life albino sperm whale named Mocha Dick. That marine mammal was found off the coast of Chile in the early 19th century, and gained a reputation for being especially difficult to catch. Also, the events depicted in Moby Dick were inspired by a real-life incident in 1820 when a ship called the Essex was rammed and sunk by a sperm whale. That story was later recounted in a book called “In the Heart of the Sea”, which was made into a movie in 2015.

10 Biggest Sea Creatures Ever Caught

05:42
You won't believe that fishermen actually caught these gigantic sea monsters! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg SyFy recently aired the third film in their so-bad-its-good “Sharknado” series, prompting some to wonder if airborne, tornado-based sharks could actually be real. Okay, so no one is really wondering that. Still, though, the ocean continues to represent a great unknown to us, providing home to countless species, many of which remain a mystery to humanity. The more we learn about what lurks deep below the surface, the more we realize still remains uncovered. With two-thirds of the Earth’s surface covered in water, it stands to reason that a great deal of that space remains unexplored. Of course, just because humankind hasn’t covered every iota of ground along the ocean floor, it doesn’t mean that those areas are uninhabited. All we know for sure is that the truly deepest depths of the world’s oceans continue to offer surprises, even as scientific technology becomes increasingly advanced. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered, with entirely new and alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had even been thought possible have challenged our very notions of what life is and how it has evolved. Amidst the cold darkness of a low-lying ocean area with depths that no sunlight can penetrate lies an alien world of incredibly rare and mysterious species. While many are simple, harmless omnivores, they share the ocean floor with some pretty unsettling forces. These ocean-based creatures – those that we know about, anyway – change everything we think we know about fish. Each one has at least one predominant feature that stands out as being unlike anything seen before. Think you know sharks? Well, how about one with a saw-like nose or a frilly, eel-like body. Think you’ve seen some big fish? How about a 17-metre long swimmer or a 900-pound squid or even a 5,000-pound behemoth sunfish? Lurking within the ocean are a number of deadly, threatening, vicious creatures that are naturally designed and programmed to hunt and stalk their prey. Thankfully, most of these monsters live at pressures that humans could never survive at – not that they would survive long down there, anyway. In recent years, Hollywood has sparked a fascination with zombies, aliens and other forces that exist beyond the realms of our planet and that are not steeped in reality. Despite that, some of the strangest and most terrifying creatures in the universe lie beneath the surface of bodies of water with which we are, at least partially, familiar. As we sit on a beach staring out at the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, we remain blissfully oblivious to all that lurks within. This list seeks to open the door to an entire world of deep sea activity, featuring a cast of creepy and spooky characters that few even know exist. These 10 fish, some of whom may seem to be borne out of your darkest nightmares, are all very real and may give you second thoughts the next time you foray into the ocean. And these are just the ones we know about… Check out these other awesome videos! 10 Shockingly Large Creatures That Actually Exist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9odlL5Ti3dc 10 Things That Will Happen When Humans Go Extinct https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ml_awEqbEE Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

Deep Sea Starfish There are more than 2,000 known species of sea star, ranging from those that you find in rock pools to those that you’d see on a coral reef- but amongst the most bizarre ones that have been found are those that live deep below the waves. 9. Glass Finger This strange species of sea sponge that lives in deep waters are called Glass Fingers. Apart from looking like glass, their name actually comes from the way that their skeletons are formed. 8. Deep Sea Spider If you’re not too fond of spiders around your home, then these next creatures will show you how lucky you are to live on land! Spiders of epic proportions do live among us and grow to huge sizes of the coast of Antarctica. 7. Acorn Worm Acorn worms can live anywhere from the shoreline to over 3000 meters (10,000 ft) deep. They are very unusual creatures. There are actually only less than 100 known species of Acorn worm, and most varieties grow up to 1.5 feet long. 6. Barreleye Fish If you didn’t know any better, you might think this fish was some kind of aquatic robot used to spy on submarines during the cold war! The Pacific barreleye fish is an extraordinary creature that lives deep in the ocean’s waters. 5. Giant Isopod The Giant Isopod is another creepy creature that lives at the bottom of the sea. Related to pillbugs, it’s not actually a bug. It’s a carnivorous crustacean that crawls around the deep sea floor looking for food- from the remains of creatures that have fallen to the depths, or slow moving, living creatures like sea cucumbers and sponges, that it’s able to catch up to. 4. Dragon Fish The deep sea dragonfish, also called the Barbeled Dragonfish, is a family of fish that are found in the deepest parts of the ocean around the world. In all, there are nearly 300 different known species, each of which have their own unique characteristics. 3. Mariana Snailfish The ability for scientists to explore the deepest parts of the ocean has improved significantly in recent decades, which has led to a number of unmanned research missions to the deepest known place on Earth! 2. Sleeper Sharks Sleeper sharks are very rarely seen by ocean researchers. They are known to live in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and grow to up to 23 feet (7 meters) long and weigh up to 1,958 pounds (888 kg). A discovery in 2016 completely changed the way these creatures are understood. 1. Devil Worm All of the other animals on this list live in the ocean, since they provide much more habitable environments than are available underground, and far more research has been done in the water because it’s easier to access. This final one, though is the exception. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Most MYSTERIOUS Sea Monster Carcasses Ever Found!

Check out the most mysterious sea monsters carcasses ever found! From unidentified sea creatures to bizarre ocean animals washed ashore, this top 10 list is shrouded in mystery! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg Watch our "Most Amazing Cities Found UNDERWATER!" video here: https://youtu.be/rUqxhYJqGhU Watch our "STRANGEST Things Found In The Ocean!" video here: https://youtu.be/0eRi-vbA2y4 9. Russian Specimen In 2015, the world was once again amazed as a mysterious creature washed up on a Russian beach. A giant sea creature with a bird-like "beak" and fur on its tail sparked controversy in hours! Russian social media went crazy! It was said to be similar to a dolphin but was twice the size of your average human. On top of that, it had fur. Pretty strange since sea creatures are not commonly seen with fur!! Some claim it resembles a Ganges River dolphin, which are normally found in the freshwater regions of India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. These dolphins have a small hump instead of a dorsal fin, a brown coloring and the tendency to swim on their sides. But, there is one fact that these theorists are ignoring. Ganges dolphins do not have fur! Oh yeah! Plus, they are much smaller than this mysterious Russian creature. Because of this, these individuals counter back with their suggestion that the creature was simply a washed up llama or other mammal. They say perhaps the beak was actually a snout and the body composition was previously mistaken for a sea creature. To this day, no one knows for sure what it is, and chances are…it’s probably too late now! 8. New Zealand Beast New Zealand hasn’t had just one case of a sea monster carcass shrouded in mystery. Back in 2013, a mysterious thing washed ashore causing insane speculation across the country. The Daily Mail reports that “A YouTube video filmed by Elizabeth Ann on Pukehina Beach shows the half-buried head of a carcass with jagged teeth and gaping jaws”. Only its head and what looks like flippers are visible above the sand. This beast could have been up to 30 feet long!! A marine biologist suggested it was a whale. Other theories ranged from a seal to a crocodile to a dinosaur!! Yes, people say it is some ancient creature that no longer exists! What that creature really was has yet to be determined. 7. Bermuda Blob There is no doubt that Bermuda is full of mysteries. One of these is the appearance of not one…but two mysterious blobs that appeared nearly ten years apart. The Bermuda Blob is the name given to two globsters, or unidentified sea creature carcasses, that washed ashore on Bermuda in 1988 and 1997. The first Bermuda Blob was found by Teddy Tucker, a fisherman and treasure hunter, in Mangrove Bay in May 1988. The man said the blob was about "2½ to 3 feet thick . . . very white and fibrous . . . with five 'arms or legs,' rather like a disfigured star." To further prove its existence, samples of the specimen were gathered and analyzed in 1995. It is believed that these specimens were from a poikilothermic sea creature, either a large teleost or an elasmobranch. Yeah, that really clears it up doesn’t it?? This just means it was a large bony fish, shark or ray. Another suggested that the remains belonged to a whale. The same thing happened in 1997 but it wasn’t analyzed until 2004. Evidence from this sample suggested a whale again. But of course, nothing was ever proven, and science itself leaves this case open, as another one of the ocean’s greatest mysteries. 6. Muriwai Monster Some other very strange things have been popping up on New Zealand beaches after the earthquakes in 2016. The large weird-looking object that looked like it was covered in dreadlocks washed up on Muriwai beach in Auckland. Melissa Doubleday discovered it and thought it was a beached whale. She posted pictures to facebook to get some ideas and people suggested everything from a sea monster with dreadlocks to an alien pod time capsule! The real answer is probably way more boring than this. New Zealand Marine Sciences Society believes it is a piece of driftwood covered in gooseneck barnacles. Gooseneck barnacles are crustaceans that attach themselves to driftwood or rocks, but this is a rather extreme case, wouldn’t you say? They normally use biochemical cement and a peduncle to glue themselves onto objects underwater. They then ride water currents to wave their appendages in order to filter out food particles. Fun fact: Gooseneck barnacles are said to be a delicacy in Spain and Portugal. Now, does this amazing creature really look like a thousand appetizers? Or does it look more like a Rastafarian sea monster? That’s what I thought! 5 Giant Creatures Caught on Camera

We like to think of our world as mostly discovered, but there are a lot of things we don’t know about what’s living alongside us. Predator X Predator X is the most powerful marine reptile ever discovered. Over 15 meters long, and weighing about 4 tons, it was twice as big as most Jurassic predators. The giant reptile roamed the seas about 150 million years ago and was officially classified as a new species. Now known as Pliosaurus funkei, it had a massive 2m skull with a bite four times as powerful as a Tyrannosaurus rex. (Although I prefer the name Predator X). Studies of the brain cavity of Predator X has revealed that its brain was actually similar to the much smaller great white shark?. In 2006, scientists found two massive pliosaur skeletons in Norway. The giant creatures, looked slightly different from other pliosaurs discovered in England and France over the last century and a half.  The pliosaur family had short necks and four large, paddle-shaped limbs like a turtle that allowed them to move up to 5m per second. The newly discovered funkei species likely lived closer to 145 million years ago and ate plesiosaurs, related long-necked, small-headed reptiles. The new analysis shows P. funkei had longer front paddles than other pliosaurs, and different teeth. This predator is still bigger than the largest living apex predator, the whale, which tops out at about 9m (30 ft) long. 8. Plesiosaurs Plesiosaurs were a group of marine reptiles, or dinosaurs-that-weren’t-actually-dinosaurs but lived at the same time during the Jurassic Period. It had a tiny head and a long neck, paddle flippers, and a tail. Even though it was smaller than Predator X, Its mouth was full of needle-like teeth pointing inward, a perfect death trap for prey and for ripping flesh. In 1987 a plesiosaur fossil was discovered with the bones of an embryo in its abdomen, proving that the animal gave birth to live young. This creature seems to have somehow given rise to the Loch Ness Monster as the physical description is very similar. Plesiosaurs would swallow stones weighing about 5 pounds (2.2kg) to help them digest their prey. If there was one plesiosaur you needed to watch out for, it was Liopleurodon (lye plur i dun). This carnivorous beast could weigh over 3,500 pounds and reach over 30 feet in length, including jaws that are believed to be 10 feet alone, complete, of course, with a very wide jaw and several rows of razor-sharp teeth. Their bodies consisted of a unique, paddle design for limbs, which has been tested and proven on small swimming robots that the Liopleurodon would not have been super fast they were terrifyingly agile. Most likely they hunted similar to the crocodiles of today, with short and fast burst attacks. So that makes them just perfect for any underwater haunted...aquarium. 7. Giant Sea Scorpion (Jaekelopterus rhenaniae) Since there is no way I can pronounce this we'll just call this one the Giant Sea Scorpion. Larger than a human and about the size of a crocodile (2.5m), the 390-million-year-old sea scorpion was the top predator of its day. This was one of the two largest arthropods to have ever lived, reaching a length of over 8 feet of armored, clawed horror. Most of us freak out at the thought of a tarantula, so it’s easy to imagine screaming like a banshee if you ever swam by one of these. A huge fossilized spiky claw discovered in Germany in 2007 measured 18 inches (46 cm). We've known about super sized insects for years now but it wasn't until this discovery that scientists realized just how big some of these creepy crawlies could get. The next biggest fossil arthropods were massive millipedes that grew more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) long, 6. Basilosaurus The Basilosaurus’ name and appearance make it seem like an ancient reptile, but it’s actually a blood-thirsty ancestor of today’s whales. It's ironic given that its name means “King Lizard,” but that is because when it was discovered by Richard Owen in 1834, it was thought be a reptile. It wasn't until over 10 years later that he discovered it was actually a mammal and tried to rename it the Zeuglodon, meaning Yoke Tooth, but that didn’t catch on.

SCARIEST Ancient Sea MONSTERS That Ever Lived!

10:41
Check out the most scary ancient sea monsters that ever lived! From the leviathan to the megalodon, this top 10 list of largest prehistoric sea creatures that roamed the oceans is terrifying! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "STRANGEST Artifacts Ever Discovered!" video here: https://youtu.be/gG0XGt3jFZA Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Liopleurodon Just imagine what it’s like to swim alongside a creature that’s many times your size!! Pretty intimidating but still nothing like these guys. The Liopleurodon was one of the largest sea monsters that ever lived. At about 80 feet long, it was the alpha predator in the shallow waters during the late Jurassic period, where it hunted crocodiles and giant fish. 9. Kerygmachela Kierkegaardi The K Kierkegaardi is a strange creature that lived about 540 million years ago, and recent discoveries of their fossils have led to a completely new understanding of how animals’ brains have developed!! 8. Dakosaurus Dakosaurus lived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras about 145 million years ago. The species is often referred to as ‘Godzilla’ because of the deep shape of its skull, but it was more like a large crocodile that lived in the saltwater of the oceans. Growing up to 16 feet long, it had paddle shaped flippers to help propel itself through the water, as well as a fluke at the end of its tail to provide extra power. 7. Ichthyosaur Ichthyosaurs lived during the Triassic period until around 90 million years ago, when they mysteriously became extinct- about 25 million years before the event that wiped out the dinosaurs. Meaning ‘fish lizards’, Ichthyosaurs are actually thought to have evolved from a land reptile that moved back into the water, but it’s not yet clear what its precise ancestry is. 6. The Tully Monster If you were asked to design the strangest animal you could, then I bet you wouldn’t come up with something as weird as this odd looking creature, called the Tully Monster. Fossil findings suggest that it lived in the shallow waters of the Eastern United States about 300 million years ago, with remains having been found in the Mazon Creek fossil beds in Illinois. 5. Kronosaurus The Kronosaurus was a short necked pliosaur that lived during the Cretaceous era, just over 100 million years ago. They grew to around 32 feet long, 9 feet of which was its huge head- big enough that it could fit an entire human inside it! Remains have been found in Australia and Colombia, where it would have been the alpha predator of its time. 4. Anomalocaridids If you’re squeamish about creepy crawlies, then this next ancient sea monster is probably going to be your least favourite of all. Anomalocaridids were shrimp-like creatures that, for millions of years, were the largest predators in the oceans. They had soft jointed bodies, and spiny limbs to allow them to catch small prey like worms. 3. Tylosaurus The Tylosaurus- a name which means “knob lizard”, was one of the largest mosasaurs to ever live. They swam in the oceans during the Cretaceous era, about 70 million years ago, and grew to up to 50 feet long. They were different to earlier species of mosasaur that propelled themselves through the water with flippers and, instead, had giant tails that would do all of the work. 2. Luskhan Itilensis The Luskhan Itilensis is a new species of Pliosaur that was only recently identified in 2017 from fossils found 15 years earlier in the Volga river in Russia. Rather than being dinosaurs, they were actually distant relatives of turtles- with 4 large flippers, big heads, powerful jaws, and very sharp teeth. 1. Leedsichthys Growing up to 55 feet long, the Leedsichthys is thought to be the largest fish that has ever lived. (So this answer was actually pretty tricky!!) It’s difficult to know much about it, though, because only fragments of this giant creature have ever been found. At one point is was believed to be twice the size, but even the recent reduction in estimates based on new finds makes it bigger than today’s whale sharks, and by far the biggest bony fish that’s ever been discovered. BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "CREEPY Fish From The Deep Sea!" video here: https://youtu.be/IjbRmTvO1_g Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg 10.) Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . LARGEST Prehistoric Sea Monsters !

08:49
From gigantic marine reptiles; to a whale that challenged Megalodon Here are 14 of the largest prehistoric sea monsters Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife Liopleurodon Identified as pliosaurs, these carnivorous marine reptiles lived during the Middle to Late Jurassic. In its time, it would have been an apex predators in the waters that covered present day Europe. Growing more than 20 feet long, the animal’s skull accounted for about one-fifth of that length. Researchers think that might account for the beast being able to use its nostrils to detect the source of certain smells in its environment. That would have been a useful trait, since the critter seemed capable of propelling itself at high speeds in the water -- suggesting that it could have been an ambush predator. Tylosaurus This species of Mosasaur was closely related to present day day snakes and monitor lizards. The large marine lizards could reach lengths of close to 50 feet, and was distinguished by its long, cylindrical snout. Experts speculate that it may have been used for purposes of self-defense and/or combat to stun prey. Its long, eel-like body was built for speed and agility. The animal could cruise at a steady rate … then shoot forward in a quick burst of speed to overtake prey. It generally favored a wide range of prey, from marine reptiles to sharks to flightless birds. They were dominant predators in the waters of North America during the Late Cretaceous, around 75 million years ago. Mosasaurus (moss-uh-sore-us) Here’s a critter whose name has become a lot more familiar in recent years. The huge carnivorous marine lizard lived during the Late Cretaceous, around 66 million years ago. Growing nearly 60 feet long, the beasts could weigh an estimated 30,000 pounds! Their massive, conical teeth clamped into prey that ranged from sharks to dinosaurs of the time. Their fossils have been found across much of the globe … with experts saying they could exist in saltwater or freshwater habitats. Did you know these creatures are thought to be related to present-day lizards like the Komodo dragon? Megalodon (thumb) Our number one scary critter is just ahead … First, here’s an Honorable Mention. And we have a name that is no doubt synonymous with ‘prehistoric deep sea predator’. Megalodon has to be included on this kind of list. But the humongous ancient fish gets a fair amount of publicity from Epic Wildlife, so we don’t want to overexpose the beast. Still, it must be mentioned that Megalodon was about as long as a school bus, with lengths estimated to exceed some 60 feet. We’re not sure if the beast in the picture is meant to be Megalodon, of if it’s meant to represent a kayaker’s worst nightmare. While the animal had jaws more than 6.5 feet across, it couldn’t necessarily swallow one of those vessels whole. But it could have devoured a human in one bite. And researchers say they had one of the most powerful bite forces of all time. In their time, they were thought to have hunted down whales. They resembled a much larger version of today’s great white shark, and were wide ranging creatures … their fossils have been found around the world. Livyatan Melvilli Recall that we just mentioned how Megalodon hunted whales when it swam the oceans. This is one of the whales it could have encountered millions of years ago. And it would have provided a big challenge for that big shark. Livyatan Melvilli was named for Leviathan, the sea monster in the Bible … and for Herman Melville, the author of Moby Dick. The marine mammals were similar in size to today's sperm whales, measuring close to 60 feet long. Maybe more impressive was the size of their teeth … at 14 inches long, they’re among the largest teeth of any animal yet discovered. Along with Megalodon, it was an apex predator that roamed the same waters and hunted the same prey as its rival -- which included other whales. Which one would win a battle of these prehistoric super predators?

SUBSCRIBE for the latest videos: https://goo.gl/7xzjzR Don't forget to CHECK OUT our latest upload: https://goo.gl/LUB8Xw 15. Lion’s Mane Jelly We start off with number 15...this scraggly looking creature looks like a floating hippie from the 1960s...can you say, Woodstock? This a Lion’s Mane Jellyfish. The diameter of the bell...that’s the top part can span to around 7 feet and tentacles close to 200 feet long. Can this be the largest sea creature ever discovered? 14. The Japanese spider crab Next, is a creepy spider-ish looking character call the Japanese spider crab. Sporting long spindly legs that can extend as far as 13 feet and weigh close to 50 pounds, this creature does like to eat other sea flesh...Maybe this sea creature is be the largest creature ever discovered? 13. Colossal Squid Coming in at number 13 is the Colossal Squid. This is the largest invertebrate in the world weighing around 11-hundred pounds and close to 50 feet in length. That’s longer than a school bus. The largest squid on the planet. 12. Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola) This next creature looks like just a floating fish head without a body. The Mola Mola, otherwise known as the ocean sunfish, is the largest bony fish in the ocean. There are other larger fish such as sharks, but they’re made up of cartilage not bones. As a result, these guys are darn heavy, the biggest fish known to man. 11.Portuguese Man O War The Portuguese Man O War is often mistaken for a jellyfish, but it’s a very different creature. It’s really incorrect to refer to it as a singular fish because it’s actually a coming together of a group of organisms that depend on each other for their existence. The Portuguese part of the name is derived by the sail looking form it takes as it floats on the surface, looking like a Portuguese warship from the 18th century. The biggest jellyfish. 10. Cretoxyrhina The next big boy of the sea actually is not around anymore...this is Cretoxyrhina...a-k-a the Ginzu Shark. Its common name is a reference to the well known Ginzu knives that can slice and dice just about anything. Living around 82 to 100 million years ago, this predator’s incredibly razor-sharp teeth would hack away on prey much larger than itself into more bite-size pieces to eat and digest. The largest prehistoric shark. 9. Great White Shark This next guy is one you’re probably familiar with. Made famous by the Peter Benchley novel “Jaws” and the Steven Spielberg movie that followed, the Great White Shark is one of the most active predatory creatures in the sea. The largest shark in existence. 8. Shastasaurus The largest marine reptile ever found is the Shastasaurus...meaning Mt. Shasta Lizard. Dating to the late Triassic period some 210 million years ago, this beak-looking creature has been found to be as large as nearly 70 feet in length. The largest sea monster ever recorded. 7. Tylosaurus Number seven...Tylosaurus. This guy sported a long cylindrical snout that is thought to have been used as a kind of sledgehammer to stun prospective prey into a stupor for attack and consumption. 6. Whale Shark Back to the creatures still living on the planet, the Whale Shark is the largest fish in the ocean. Despite being called a shark this is a gentle giant of a creature. 5. Mosasaurus Technically not a dinosaur, but another of the prehistoric aquatic lizards is the Mosasaurus...meaning Meuse River Lizard, where the first fossil was found. This one is the biggest sea monster that ever existed. 4. Pliosaurus Funkei (aka Predator X) In 2009 scientists were beside themselves with excitement about what was called Predator X. This was a Goliath of a reptile that had an immense head with the bite four times more powerful than T-Rex. In 2015, and is the biggest and largest ever. 3. Fin Whale Returning to the still-living creatures, Number 3... there is no short-selling the size of the Fin Whale. It is the second largest animal on earth. At an average length of close to 90 feet long and weighing more than 77 tons, this whale is truly enormous. Biggest whale in the world. 2. Megalodon Then there is Megalodon...meaning “big tooth.” This prehistoric shark is the stuff that legends are made of. But the fossils and remains dug up over the years tell us this was not just a legend. This sea creature was real. Scientists say this vicious predator The megalodon is the largest shark in history. 1. Blue Whale It is the largest creature, land or sea known to ever live on the face of the earth. The adult Blues will grow to about 100 feet long and weigh around 200 tons. They do love their seafood...eating some 8 tons of shrimp-like krill a day.
