Who is a Product Manager and What do they do? [Career Insights]

07:54
The role of a product manager is crucial but also one of the least understood ones. What does a product manager really do? Is he more of a data analyst? Or someone who deals with the tech aspects of product, leading the team of engineers? Or does the product manager largely concern himself/herself with user experience, design or the overall business strategy? Mind-boggling isn't it? No wonder the role is difficult to understand for most. In this video, Ravijot Chugh, Co-Founder and Product Head at UpGrad, explains in detail the various responsibilities a Product Manager has, and that you need to execute to the best of your ability to be a good PM. If you want to bag one among the thousands of highly coveted openings for Product Managers between now and 2020 (only to grow exponentially even after), you need to start upgrading your existing skills and mastering these key skills. Product Managers are often referred to as mini-CEOs of the product. This is why, at tech companies, startups and large MNCs that are now diversifying, alike, the role of Product Managers is lucrative and one of the most important in the organization. Product Manager - 10 Essential Skills to Master (In 2019)

06:51
Product Management is a fast-growing and niche area to develop a career in. Naturally, there are some essential skills that can get you to be the very best of the lot. While the need for Product Managers is increasing by the day - in startups, tech companies and other large companies alike - the supply in India is currently only limited to a few thousands and compares poorly to countries such as the US. As per the Google and Accel Partners SAAS Report, there are roughly 36,000 Product Managers in India and the number is expected to increase to about 68,000 Product Managers by 2020. So, the need is apparent. But what does one have to do to get there? How to become a Product Manager? A common misconception is that Product Managers need to only master certain hard skills such as business understanding, tech and data. However, this would only mean the job is half done. To be a successful Product Manager you must have some soft skills too. These include communication, negotiation and leading without authority among many others. But don't worry about backgrounds, as Product Managers have been known to have diverse work and educational experience prior to making the transition into Product Management. Ravijot Chugh, Co-Founder and Product Head at UpGrad, explains in this 3rd part of the Careers-In-Shorts Series what these key skills are and how one can ace them to get on the road to being a great Product Manager. Bud Tribble and Steve Jobs describing a Product Manager role in 1986

01:01
In the early days on NeXT Computer, a word processor was needed for NeXT's new computer. Bud Tribble, an founding employee and lead engineer at NeXT and now VP at Apple, was tasked to build a word process but was given no specification of what features were needed. This made it impossible for Bud to give an accurate scope to meet the deadline of the NeXT computer launch. It's awesome to see Bud Tribble and Steve Jobs describe what a Product Manager would do back then.

Asset Management: Industry Overview and Careers in Asset Management

04:45
Asset Management: Industry overview and Careers in Asset Management Asset Management is about managing clients’ investments and providing them with the strategies and expertise that would allow them to achieve their goals and secure their financial future. This video is part of our series dedicated to the different sub-industries in the world of Business & Finance. Our goal is to understand how it functions, what type of services it offers its clients, which are the major players in the field and what it is like to do this for a living. An individual or an institution is likely to approach an asset management firm when their investment income is substantial. In such cases, asset managers are able to offer expertise across a wide spectrum of asset classes (such as stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate, private equity, etc). Moreover, large firms have branches all over the world and are therefore able to offer geographical expertise as well. Given that asset managers closely follow all of these markets, they are able to offer high-quality advice and superior risk-return investments. The large players in the asset management industry are indeed very large. There are several companies whose assets under management exceed $1 trillion. Some of them are pure investment funds (BlackRock, Vanguard, StateStreet, Fidelity), while others are arms of the large banking conglomerates (Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, UBS, BNP). The largest firm in the world in terms of assets under management in 2015 was BlackRock. Product Manager Interview: Ryan Hoover, Founder of Product Hunt and former Product Manager

In fact, product manager salaries start at $69,000 and can go as high as $140,000 in the US and product management jobs will grow at a rate of 12% of the next decade. On paper the job sounds amazing, but it's important to hear directly from experienced product managers. Ryan Hoover started his career off as a product manager at InstantAction and then eventually moved to Play Haven as the Director of Product Management. At Play Haven, Ryan gain the skills he needed to venture off on his own and start his own product and company, Product Hunt (which is now a funded-company). Because most colleges don't provide product management tracks or courses, Ryan learned most of the skills he needed to be a product manager on the job like empathy and intuition -- understanding customers, what they want and what they need. Ryan spent his days a product manager looking at the data and metrics for his products and going to talk to customers in person. Along with the internal data analysis tools, Ryan and the product management team used project management tools (Pivotal and then moved to JIRA), Gmail, Google Docs, and whiteboards on a day to day basis to do their product management job. Ryan also used Omnigraffle for wireframing, but he likes to start with pen and paper to start to just get the barebones design and functionality down before jumping into software like Omnigraffle or Balsamiq. Steve Jobs - Courage

03:34
This is a clip from the D8 Conference, recorded in 2010. Steve Jobs is talking about the courage it takes to remove certain pieces of technology from Apple products. This happened after the iPad was introduced without support for Flash, just as the iPhone, back in 2007. This clip adds some perspective into the debate of Apple's new AirPod and the decision to remove the traditional analog audio connector from the iPhone 7. This kind of decision is not new to Apple. The interview occurred 6 years ago, and Steve Jobs was already using the word "courage" to explain why the company does things the way it does.

Steve Jobs' amazing marketing strategy - MUST WATCH

This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. What does PRODUCTION ENGINEERING mean? PRODUCTION ENGINEERING meaning - PRODUCTION ENGINEERING definition - PRODUCTION ENGINEERING explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Production Engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most-judicious and most-economic way. Production Engineering encompasses the application of castings, machining processing, joining processes, metal cutting & tool design, metrology, machine tools, machining systems, automation, jigs and fixtures, die and mould design, material science, design of automobile parts, and machine designing and manufacturing. Production engineering also overlaps substantially with manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering. In industry, once the design is realized, production engineering concepts regarding work-study, ergonomics, operation research, manufacturing management, materials management, production planning, etc., play important roles in efficient production processes. These deal with integrated design and efficient planning of the entire manufacturing system, which is becoming increasingly complex with the emergence of sophisticated production methods and control systems.

Paid Social Media Jobs Review - Paid social media, facebook, twitter, linkedin jobs

01:42
http://tinyurl.com/htwup7p Paid Social Media Jobs Review Welcome to my Paid Social Media Jobs review. If you are someone looking for ways to make extra income from home, maybe you’re doing some research. Good thing you did. This is a company that supposedly pays people to do little job tasks such as tweet on Twitter and like Facebook pages. Sounds like easy work, right? Well I have to tell you that there is a catch. There always is. Some other tasks that they say they’ll pay you to do is comment on videos and do a little bit of management of accounts of social network accounts of various companies. I guess the whole premise behind Paid Social Media Jobs is that social media has become very important for companies in terms of marketing and needing people to manage and work that department. So, what happens is companies will outsource these little jobs to people just because they are low skill level tasks and they need to create even more overhead if they can hire people who work from home and get paid for each individual task. So, it seemed like a smart idea to launch a website that brings empoloyers that need social account management and people looking to make extra income from home or their spare time. And boom, that’s where this site was born. Now, while first looking at Paid Social Media Jobs, it kind of looked promising and not like a scam. But then I soon realized that it basically is a scam because a lot of the jobs posted were not real and the job descriptions were just unrealistic for the average person such as requiring you to get thousands of hits to a video in a short amount of time. In other words, a lot of these jobs were impossible to do if you didn’t have some kind of auto mass distribution software. It’s definitely not easy to find legitimate online jobs because it costs companies money. One of the things that caught my attention about Paid Social Media Jobs is that you’re going to be billed $47 after a short trial period. I get what this really is. It’s a setup for people who are looking for work, to subscribe to a “database” of companies that offer work. Let me tell you something though. The types of jobs like “tweeting” or “liking” posts are virtually going to pay nothing at all. The whole point of this site is to attract people and have them take the trial and bill them after the 3 days are up. benefits of social media marketing best social media management tools entry level social media jobs facebook jobs facebook jobs austin facebook jobs chicago facebook jobs los angeles facebook jobs menlo park facebook jobs nyc facebook jobs seattle freelance copywriting jobs freelance social media jobs freelance writing jobs freelance writing jobs nyc how to become a social media manager how to make money online How to make money online 2016 how to make money online 2017 how to make money with social media how to use social media for marketing jobs at youtube jobs on linkedin linkedin job seeker linkedin jobs linkedin jobs chicago linkedin jobs nyc linkedin jobs posting Make money from home 2016 Make money online marketing on social media online freelance writing jobs paid media jobs paid social media jobs Paid Social Media Jobs paid social media jobs 2014 paid social media jobs how to paid social media jobs news paid social media jobs review paid social media jobs review paid social media jobs scam paid social media jobs vs paid social meida jobs paid writing jobs paidsocialmediajobs social media social media and marketing social media certification social media consultant social media consultant rates social media consultants social media consulting social media job titles social media jobs social media jobs chicago social media jobs from home social media jobs los angeles social media jobs nyc social media management social media management company social media management services social media management software social media management tools social media manager social media manager job description social media manager jobs social media manager salary social media managers social media marketer social media marketing social media marketing agency social media marketing certification social media marketing company social media marketing consultant social media marketing definition social media marketing denver social media marketing for small business social media marketing job description social media marketing jobs social media marketing los angeles social media marketing manager social media marketing plan social media marketing plan template social media marketing salary social media marketing services social media marketing software social media marketing specialist social media marketing strategies social media marketing strategy social media marketing tips social media marketing tools social media marketing training social media training twitter jobs twitter jobs nyc twitter jobs sf using social media for marketing what is social media marketing writing jobs chicago youtube jobs
