Want to access 'The World's Best Business Training'? Go to: https://bizversity.com/YTWC1 What is a Product Line? A product line is a collection of offerings from a company. They may be closely related but could be lower in price or differ in colour, flavour, texture or a variety of other factors. At the end of the day, all these products belong to the same brand but could be marketed under different names. For example... Take the supermarket’s own range of products on sale. They may have various names for the same type of product, like desserts. The product lines could be a Gold range, or a more expensive, exclusive offering and a No Frills range, a cheaper alternative. Either way, the sales from both brand names would contribute to the company’s earnings. The company can do further analysis to determine which product line is doing better and add to or repeal it. What is PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION? What does PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION mean? PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION meaning - PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION definition - PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ A product line extension is the use of an established product brand name for a new item in the same product category. Line Extensions occur when a company introduces additional items in the same product category under the same brand name such as new flavors, forms, colors, added ingredients, package sizes. This is as opposed to brand extension which is a new product in a totally different product category. Line extension occurs when the company lengthens its product line beyond its current range. The company can extend its product line down-market stretch, up-market stretch, or both ways. Product line extensions are a process where companies with an established brand alter the factors of a product or products to satisfy a refined segment in the market. There are two types of product line extensions, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal extensions consist of keeping the price and quality consistent, but changing factors like flavour or colour to differentiate the products. Vertical extensions consist of increasing and decreasing the quality and price to create inferior and luxury goods. These product line extensions are often closely related to existing products in a brands portfolio, but targets specific brand consumers through this approach. Product line extensions help companies identify and tend to the needs of refined target markets. This approach is a way to try and increase company sales, as well as expanding their brands product portfolio within the desired market. This expansion of a company’s product line also increases their competitive impact, and if applied appropriately, their advantage within the intended market. Practically, when brands apply a product extension strategy they can often benefit from the new addition or additions. This is as extending their product line enlarges their product portfolio and as a result provides the consumers with more variety to choose from. This is positive, as consumers tend to enjoy being able to have choice and through expanding a brands product line, the brand is providing this choice. Investing in this approach is commonly pursued by companies due to their desire to create revenue and to advance their competitive status against rival companies. The advantages when undergoing product line extensions is that the new product or products are commonly closely related to existing products, so the company often has the appropriate production process and capacity to produce the new product or products. Issues facing product line extensions can include company’s investments in the new products without the desired return. The product may come at a loss or may not be able to make enough of the return the company was forecasting for. The new addition could also send confusion to the company’s customer base, and in turn negatively affect the loyalty they have for the brand. This can evidently become a long-term risk in terms of brand image, as consumers may have a new view of the brand as cheap, in the case of downward extension, or unrealistic and unreasonable in terms of upward extension. An issue also connected to the extensions, could result in the production process becoming more and more complicated as a result of new products, this could affect the company’s efficiency and quality in the production of the brands product range. An advantage of extending company product lines is the likely rise in sales, demand and market share. Product line extension increases the amount of different products available to consumers, and through adding more products into the market it keeps consumers interested. This can be helpful in avoiding customer base loss.

Samsung TV Product Line Comparison

04:16
SUBSCRIBE FOR THE LATEST VIDEOS http://bit.ly/DTYouTubeSub We're going to check out choice examples from Samsung's 2017 TV lineup. We'll start with the entry-level model, work out way up to the flagship model--the best TV Samsung makes--and along the way'll, you'll learn what kind of design and picture quality differences you can expect as you move up. Let's start up with what will be the same throughout every Samsung Smart TV you buy, and that's Tizen. Samsung continues to refine its Tizen smart TV operating system to the point where its TVs are more interactive and intuitive than ever before. Central to QLED smart improvements is a new Samsung One remote control, which the company says operates more devices, and supports more smart TV features via voice control. The TVs’ so-called Smart Hub can now be deeply customized using Samsung’s Smart View app, available for iOS and Android devices. Additionally, Samsung has come up with a new music service interface which corrals all supported internet radio stations and streaming music services into one place, with users’ playlists from all available services displayed in one central place. Samsung's most affordable 4K UHD TV, with HDR is the MU6300 and comes with 3 HDMI ports, along with one with HDMI-ARC for easy connection to a soundbar. For the price, this TV has good black levels, decent color, and better picture quality than you'd get with a 1080p TV for sure. If we move up a couple of notches, we get tot he MU7500, which is as a curved model, which isn't as common as you might think nowadays; Samsung is the last manufacturer to make curved TVs. At a glance, you'll notice the picture quality is a little better than the MU6300 and is brighter--which really makes HDR content pop of the screen better. Next on our list is the MU8000, where we're going to see a much flashier design in a trimmer bezel and slimmer profile. It's got a uniform backside and there's a chrome strip at the bottom that plays nicely against its two medal stands. With the MU8000, you'll also get a Samsung One Connect box, which lets you connect all your components to the box, then run a single cable up to your TV. The MU8000 punches well above its price point, where HDR starts to look pretty amazing at this level, with intense brightness, color, and very good looking black levels. If you're not looking to pay the premium price for Samsung's Q-Series, then this is an excellent choice. Finally on our list is one of those Q-Series TVs, the Q9, the crown jewel of of Samsung's new QLED TV lineup, and in our opinion, the best TV Samsung has ever made. It has a completely flat back, and a hidden mounting bay, which allows almost gapless wall mount when you use a special Samsung wall mount hardware. In terms of picture quality, we think the Samsung Q9 is one of the best screens you'll see all year from any manufacturer. What is BRAND EXTENSION? What does BRAND EXTENSION mean? BRAND EXTENSION meaning & explanation

10:02
What is BRAND EXTENSION? What does BRAND EXTENSION mean? BRAND EXTENSION meaning - BRAND EXTENSION definition - BRAND EXTENSION explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Brand extension or brand stretching is a marketing strategy in which a firm marketing a product with a well-developed image uses the same brand name in a different product category. The new product is called a spin-off. Organizations use this strategy to increase and leverage brand equity (definition: the net worth and long-term sustainability just from the renowned name). An example of a brand extension is Jello-gelatin creating Jello pudding pops. It increases awareness of the brand name and increases profitability from offerings in more than one product category. A brand's "extendibility" depends on how strong consumer's associations are to the brand's values and goals. Ralph Lauren's Polo brand successfully extended from clothing to home furnishings such as bedding and towels. Both clothing and bedding are made of linen and fulfill a similar consumer function of comfort and hominess. Arm & Hammer leveraged its brand equity from basic baking soda into the oral care and laundry care categories. By emphasizing its key attributes, the cleaning and deodorizing properties of its core product, Arm & Hammer was able to leverage those attributes into new categories with success. Another example is Virgin Group, which was initially a record label that has extended its brand successfully many times; from transportation (aeroplanes, trains) to games stores and video stores such as Virgin Megastores. In the 1990s, 81 percent of new products used brand extension to introduce new brands and to create sales. Launching a new product is not only time-consuming but also needs a big budget to create brand awareness and to promote a product's benefits. Brand extension is one of the new product development strategies which can reduce financial risk by using the parent brand name to enhance consumers' perception due to the core brand equity. While there can be significant benefits in brand extension strategies, there can also be significant risks, resulting in a diluted or severely damaged brand image. Poor choices for brand extension may dilute and deteriorate the core brand and damage the brand equity. Most of the literature focuses on the consumer evaluation and positive impact on parent brand. In practical cases, the failures of brand extension are at higher rate than the successes. Some studies show that negative impact may dilute brand image and equity. In spite of the positive impact of brand extension, negative association and wrong communication strategy do harm to the parent brand even brand family. Product extensions are versions of the same parent product that serve a segment of the target market and increase the variety of an offering. An example of a product extension is Coke vs. Diet Coke in the same product category of soft drinks. This tactic is undertaken due to the brand loyalty and brand awareness associated with an existing product. Consumers are more likely to buy a new product that has a reputable brand name on it than buy a similar product from a competitor without a reputable brand name. Consumers receive a product from a brand they trust, and the company offering the product can increase its product portfolio and potentially gain a larger share in the market in which it competes. Brand extension research mainly focuses on consumer evaluation of extension and attitude toward the parent brand. In their 1990 model, Aaker and Keller provide a sufficient depth and breadth proposition to examine consumer behaviour and a conceptual framework. The authors use three dimensions to measure the fit of extension. First, the "Complement" refers to consumers taking two product classes (extension and parent brand product) as complementary in satisfying their specific needs.

Want to access 'The World's Best Business Training'? Go to: https://bizversity.com/YTWC1 What is Product Development? Product development is the process of conceptualising, designing, prototyping, refining and marketing a new product or an improved version of an existing product. Product development may be necessary to respond to changes in customer preferences, market conditions or to bring a new idea to life. For example... Misha has had a brilliant idea. She believes she has a safer alternative to the traditional hoverboard Integrated with virtual reality or VR glasses, it will simulate hoverboarding outdoors, eliminating risks associated with its traditional form. To make the product a reality, Misha begins a product development process, where she works with industrial designers, VR consultants and marketing experts to design and produce the hoverboard. She also conducts qualitative market analysis to understand the market demand and concerns. The cycle helps her further refine her idea, solve potential problems before they arise and create a prototype she can test before commercialising it. What is Brand Equity?

01:33
Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events. Our word of the day is “Brand Equity”. Brand equity is a phrase used in the marketing industry which describes the value of having a well-known brand name, based on the idea that the owner of a well-known brand name can generate more money from products with that brand name than from products with a less well-known name. One situation when brand equity is important is when a company wants to expand its product line. If the brand's equity is positive, the company can increase the likelihood that customers will buy its new product by associating the new product with an existing, successful brand. For example, if Campbell's releases a new soup, it would likely keep it under the same brand name, rather than inventing a new brand. The positive associations customers already have with Campbell's would make the new product more enticing than if the soup had an unfamiliar brand name. Companies can create brand equity for their products by making them memorable, easily recognizable and superior in quality and reliability. Mass marketing campaigns can also help to create brand equity. If consumers are willing to pay more for a generic product than for a branded one, however, the brand is said to have negative brand equity. This might happen if a company had a major product recall or caused a widely publicized environmental disaster. By Barry Norman, Investors Trading Academy

What is MULTIBRANDING STRATEGY? What does MULTIBRANDING STRATEGY mean? MULTIBRANDING STRATEGY meaning - MULTIBRANDING STRATEGY definition - MULTIBRANDING STRATEGY explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Multibranding strategy is when a company gives each product a distinct name. Multibranding is best used as an approach when each brand in intended for a different market segment. Multibranding is used in an assortment of ways with selected companies grouping their brands based on price-quality segments. Procter & Gamble (P&G), a multinational consumer goods company that offers over 100 brands, each suited for different consumer needs. For instance, Head & Shoulders that helps consumers relieve dandruff in the form of a shampoo, Oral-B which offers inter-dental products, Vicks which offers cough and cold products, and Downy which offers dryer sheets and fabric softeners. Other examples include Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Kellogg's, and Mars. This approach usually results in higher promotion costs and advertising. This is due to the company being required to generate awareness among consumers and retailers for each new brand name without the benefit of any previous impressions. Multibranding strategy has many advantages. There is no risk that a product failure will affect other products in the line as each brand is unique to each market segment. Although, certain large multiband companies have come across that the cost and difficulty of implementing a multibranding strategy can overshadow the benefits. For example, Unilever, the world's third-largest multination consumer goods company recently streamlined its brands from over 400 brands to centre their attention onto 14 brands with sales of over 1 billion euros. Unilever accomplished this through product deletion and sales to other companies. Other multibrand companies introduce new product brands as a protective measure to respond to competition called fighting brands or fighter brands.

7 steps to create a new product

02:50
Hi, my name is Jonathan Globerson. I'm a professional industrial designer. I'm also the CEO of GloberDesign, a product development company located in North Miami Beach in Florida. I want to tell you about the simple steps that you need to take in order to launch a new product into the market. The first thing to do is research. Do your research really good: locate your market; look who is your competition; how much are they selling their product for; what are their features; do they have any patents on it. Then you'll also do an additional patent search. That can either be done by yourself, or by a hired professional attorney or any other firm that can help you do that. Next, simply take a pen and paper and start sketching. Even if you're not the best sketcher in the world, it's fine; all you need to do is put your idea onto paper. Next, you need to create a 3D computer model. The way to do that is either hire a 3d computer artist or a 3D CAD draftsman and have them convert your beautiful sketch into a real 3D model. What they do with that? You can do with that various things. The first thing you can do with that is you can create a prototype. A prototype is the first sample of the actual product that you're having in mind. We can do it with various ways. Today we have 3D printers - they actually read a 3D computer model and they convert that into plastic parts that could be used and shown physically. The other thing that you can do with your 3D model is create patent drawings. These patent drawings you can apply for what's called a Provisional Application. That gives you 12 months of patent pending status. That's just enough time for you to start to pitch your investors, talk to buyers, talk to factories, and find out more details on how you can actually make your product come true. With the 3d computer model you also send that out to a factory, have them first sign for you what's called a Non-Disclosure Agreement, meaning anything that... information they receive, they keep it as a secret. With that you'll get real manufacturing pricing and then you can make your own business plan. So, now you know your manufacturing pricing, you can figure out what's going to wholesale for, and what is going to be the retail price. Last, start making some marketing materials. Do a sales sheet, a brochure about your product; maybe even a kickstarter campaign, or maybe just a promotional video, just so you could show people what do you have in mind and try to get more attraction. And those are really the simple steps that you need to take in order to create a new product. For more details just visit our website http://www.globerdesign.com

Framing New Product Meanings with Design Drivers

08:31
The key to success of future-oriented design depends on the designer's ability to use present-day information to come up with concepts concerning future products. In order to create genuinely new products, designers need to overcome the current meanings of products. User centered approach hardly helps to understand radical changes in meaning because traditional user research methods provide information that is in the line with the current socio-cultural context. In the Wave research project, related to leisure time boating, the existing meanings of boating were analyzed based on the consumer and user research. New meanings of boating were generated through looking at long-term socio-cultural phenomena with a broader perspective. By analyzing the possible changes in meanings, several design drivers were created in order to propose and crystallize the selected new meanings of boating. The use of Design driver was based on the assumption that new meanings of boating could be transferred into product concepts via the design drivers.

The Fortis Clutch™ charging handle was designed with simplicity in mind and for those that use the palm method to charge their weapons. Sometimes we have found over sized charging handles get caught on our gear and rigs. We eliminated the opposite side of the charging handle, but kept the latch side robust. We're incorporating a new cam system in place of a roll pin and this increases both strength and durability. If you're looking to upgrade your charging handle, we have a perfect solution for you and it comes in the Clutch™. For those that want a more standard approach, don't forget about our Hammer™ charging handles. Machined from 7075 T6 Billet aluminum The aggressive serrations on the latch support use with either shooting gloves or without Redesigned cam system in place of a standard roll pin Finished in Hardcoat anodizing 1.3 oz - durable, yet extremely light This is the Right handed version - meaning the latch will be on the bolt catch side. License™ Lower Receiver: We intentionally waited to release our lower receiver. When the masses were releasing products that all looked similar, we were busy designing, testing, evaluating and then repeating the process until we got it just right. Truth, liberty, & justice for all isn't just our Pledge of Allegiance, but it's our LICENSE and civic duty to uphold all that's great about our country. The freedom to do so and the license of liberty. Introducing the Fortis License™ Lower Receiver. Made from 7075 T6 billet aluminum.
