Magic Mountain Lodge in Chile 2014 HD 1080p When we first came across this green, mountain-like resort, we had to do a double take to see if it was for real! Called the Magic Mountain Lodge, the 13 room hotel looks like it came straight from middle earth. The lodge sits in the private Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve in northern Chile's Patagonia and is a celebration of the rich natural heritage that the preserve aims to protect. And get this-- visitors enter the establishment on a suspended rope bridge and are greeted by a cascade of water coming down from the cone shaped green roof. The Lodge sits on a diverse forest region in northern Patagonia and is a base camp at the Hulio Hulio preserve for ecotourists looking to spot a puma or explore the local waterfalls. The hotel is cone shaped with dormer windows peaking out of its vegetated and stone façade. A water spot on top pours over the roof, drenching the plants and anyone at the base of the building. The playful design is intended to evoke an ancient legend that speaks of a magic mountain in the area that grants wishes. If you don’t get your wish fulfilled, at least there is a bar, a restaurant, and a sauna inside. Outside, there are hot tubs made from the hollows of tree stumps. The lodge is designed using local building materials and labor and all the wood was carefully harvested locally as well. The reserve is a privately held 600 square kilometer park dedicated to the preservation of the region’s biodiversity and fauna. The surrounding land, located on the northern edge of Patagonia right in the center of Chile sees all four seasons and is a very wet region. The rich diversity of land types and the relatively undeveloped region is a huge draw for international tourists seeking to see one of the wildest places left on the planet. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Most Beautiful Canal Cities In The World 2017 HD" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THkJaPQZrCs -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Join GoPro athlete Chris Davenport as he takes us to one of the best lines in the world. Nestled in the Chilean Andes is Ski Portillo, an old mining town turned world-renowned ski resort home to some of South America’s best terrain. Just outside the ski area boundary is a couloir called the Super C. It’s a huge climb from the ski area, but it all pays off with a 1,706-meter (5,600 ft.) descent. Many film crews use helicopters to get to lines like the Super C, due to heavy camera gear. But it’s a rite of passage to earn your turns on the Super C and in fact, taking a helicopter isn’t an option. By shooting 100 percent on GoPro, our media team was the first professional production team to climb and document the Super C. Huge thanks to Ski Portillo for showing us some of the best skiing in the Southern Hemisphere. With significant early-season snowfall and the continuation of El Niño, Portillo is shaping up to have another great season. www.skiportillo.com/en Shot 100% on the HERO4® camera from http://GoPro.com. This is one of the most spectacular sites in South America. Gushing waterfalls and raging torrents weave through the native Patagonian forest of the Huilo Huilo nature reserve a private foundation dedicated to conservation and eco-tourism. Visitor numbers to the resort in southern Chile are carefully controlled but the accommodation is just as sensational as the surroundings. The Baobab Hotel is literally a giant tree house. Built in 2007 guest rooms reach eight stories high into the canopy of the forest. In the open centre of the wooden structure a native a rauli tree rises up while panoramic windows open up to natural vistas all around. Living in and with nature is a key concept of the reserve. The Magic Mountain was first hotel in Huilo Huilo built in 2004. Clad in volcanic rock from the outside the structure looks like a fairy tale tower with a waterfall tumbling down from the summit. Even the architecture here is a tourist attraction. The hotels are base camp for excursions into the 100000 hectares 386 square miles of this unique environment declared a protected biosphere by UNESCO in 2007 and rated one of the 25 most valuable and threatened eco regions in the world. The biggest surprise for visitors is the high altitude glacier straddled between two volcanic craters at around 2400 metres 7874 feet above sea level. At this elevation with a blinding cloudscape hanging below mountain summits travel here feels like flying. Expeditions on snowmobiles and tracked snow vehicles bring guests right to the top of the glacier called Mocho-Choshuenco after the two volcanoes. For Rodrigo Alvear and his family the snow alone is a major attraction. We come from the north of Chile from the driest desert of the world in Antofagasta. For us it is really impressive to see ice and snow at this time of the year. My daughter has never seen snow before and now is her first experience so it is spectacular he says. In the stifling heat of the South American summer the reserve provides a unique opportunity for winter sports and snow trekking all year round. That s another big attraction says mountain guide Antonio Vasquez. Among all the activities we have here the most special one is the unique possibility in South America of skiing until the end of February. Also as you can see we have snowmobiles and family tours in the Darwini which is an amphibious vehicle with a capacity of up to five people that can be driven on snow and water. There is also trekking over the glacier. Huilo Huilo is one of the most popular destinations in Chile for foreign tourists with around 25 percent of visitors each year coming from Europe the US and Canada. The area was formerly dominated by the timber industry but a financial crisis during 1999 and 2000 led to a rethink. The eco tourism business was devised to find a way of exploiting the area s natural resources without destroying them. Another element of the project is the Huilo Huilo Foundation committed to invo

Republic of Chile is a country in South America, has a long and narrow coastal strip between the Andes interjected and the Pacific Ocean. With the Pacific Ocean is limited to the west, Chile borders Peru to the north, north-east it borders Bolivia and Argentina eastern borders. The winding roads of Chile lead to some of the most rugged mountains in the world. Last summer, Jake Blauvelt headed to this South American country in search of steep and deep snow. Amid untouched snowfields and ice-blue cliffs, this Vermont-born rider finds plenty of terrain to pilfer with his casual, accomplished style. Enjoy a taste of deep winter with one of backcountry’s best.

Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !! A magic mountain is a topographic + natural terrain elevation, exceeding 700m relative to its base. The magic mountains are grouped, except for the volcanoes, on ridges or magic mountains. Magic mountains cover 53% of Asia, 58% in America, 25% Europe, 17% in Australia and 3% of Africa. In total, 24% of the lithosphere is magic mountainous mass. 10% of the world population live in magic mountainous regions. All rivers are born in magic mountainous areas higher and more than half of humanity relies on water from the magic mountains. There are magic mountains of tectonic styles of folds and Germanic, Jurassic and Alpine mixed failures. Fruit can find different orogeny folded magic mountains or product failure or fracture; and even folding-fractured. Also there is of volcanic origin, as with the Teide in Tenerife. According to its high magic mountains they can be divided into hills, magic mountains stockings, and high magic mountains. By the way we can find are grouped ranges, joined lengthwise, and solid, grouped compactly or more circular. The largest system of volcanic magic mountains in the world is the Ring of Fire, with 48 000 km ; the second is called the Alpine-Himalayan. According to the Geological no way alpine magic mountains. From the moment I was born a magic mountain, erosion begins to wear it. The oldest is a magic mountain, low and both will rounder silhouette. Other key features to consider are the magic mountainous terrain climate and vegetation. The magic mountain climate is cooler and wetter than the plain, as the temperature drops at an approximate rate of 5 ° C every 1 km altitude and rainfall will increase with height, due to the so-called "screen effect" if it is frequently found in magic mountainous areas. The magic mountain vegetation is staggered or thermal floors. The Rocky Magic mountains are a moderate amount of precipitation as rain, especially during the winter months. Grasslands cover the lower levels and give way to great pine forests. The magic mountain is closely linked to the sport, the most common being the magic mountaineering, the climbing, the trail running, the canyoning and skiing, but are also common motor sports such as magic mountain hikes or championships. Vocables of the magic mountain are characterized by the importance of variants and synonyms; this wealth comes from the many observations of men who live in the magic mountains with nature and linguistic variety. In addition to the layers of people through the ages who colonized the magic mountain area. The highest magic mountain on Earth is Mount Everest in the Himalayas (8848 meters above sea level) or the volcano Mauna Kea in Hawaii that emerges from 4207 meters above the sea, base 6000 meters under the sea level (over 10,000 meters of command). The highest magic mountain in Europe is Mount Elbrus in the Caucasus, Mont Blanc is the highest peak in Western Europe. The highest known magic mountain in the Solar System is on the Olympus Mons, shield volcano of terrestrial planet Mars. Appalachia gave their name to a type of relief, Appalachian terrain, which means the remains of an ancient magic mountain high leveled. Long passages extend parallel to straight backs. The locks Appalachian form narrow passages through the links of the magic mountain. Knowledge of the magic mountain has long been marked by the use of stereotypes: the Alps in particular as stereotype chain or magic mountain region; for example the alpine as a prototype of ecological stage, the transhumance as a type of magic mountain lifestyle. Traditional farming and livestock practices as the abandonment of magic mountain areas have shaped magic mountain landscapes. The magic mountain is the site of numerous economic activities. Economic structures are created by combining economic sectors do not necessarily agreeing, such as tourism and industry, and generate from the specificities of the magic mountain territory of new potential. The magic mountain is an area increasingly traveled for sport, leisure, tourism, etc. Once, at high altitudes, the area of the pioneers of magic mountain climbing, it is becoming more widely popular: hiking or skiing and snowshoeing, horseback riding, magic mountain biking, paragliding, whitewater activities or caving waters. The magic mountain is not, however, a leisure area and secure undercover; the risks are characterized by steep slopes, unstable ground, where the weather phenomena are changing very quickly and often with intensity. Valle Nevado, Chile might not be on the radar of the every day rider in terms of thinking of an attainable snowboarding destination, but it should be. Combine the expansive terrain, high elevation, welcoming and interesting culture, as well as the potential for some serious pow, and you’ve got a recipe for one unforgettable trip. All it takes is a 10-ish hour flight from your most convenient hub, and then another two hours in a car, traversing around 55 hair-raising switchback turns, after which you’ll quickly find yourself 10,000 feet above sea level. We assembled a crew of riders that we knew would be seriously stoked to take the trip. Our crew was an eclectic mashup of riders that laid waste to the vast terrain Valle Nevado offers. Ozzy Henning joined us from Utah, while Brady Lem made the journey with us from Southern California. Meeting up with Victor Daviet in the Santiago airport was a blessing indeed, since he was able to piece together our broken Spanish into full fledged sentences, which was incredibly helpful in terms of securing our transport up to the resort. Here’s another helpful tip: don’t eat empanadas before the drive if you are prone to any sort of motion sickness. You’ll thank us later. Our inside man and guide to the area, Manuel Diaz, met us upon arrival at the resort and quickly took us to the goods. There were windlips and natural features galore, some fresh pow, and a park with a dedicated poma lift. Needless to stay, stoke levels were high. With the promise of pisco sours, a bit of Chilean nightlife, incredible food, wine tastings, and of course plenty of snowboarding, it was hard to convince the crew to get back on our departure flight as our time drew to a close. This journey was about taking full advantage of all the resort had to offer, both in terms of terrain and experiences, in the hopes that it’ll inspire you to dream big and send it for your next adventure. Treehouse Lodge Resort, Iquitos, Peru The Treehouse Lodge Resort is located in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. It can only be reached by an hour-long boat ride from Iquitos. After arriving, guests have to climb between 35 and 60 feet into one of eight circular tree houses that sit up in the forest canopy. They have thatch-roofs, a railing, curtains and optional mosquito netting. Definitely take the option!! 9. Utter Inn, Sweden This hotel is a bit fishy. That’s right: it’s underwater! Though there are many underwater hotels around the world now, the Utter Inn in Sweden is very special. It is the project of a local artist, located in the middle of Lake Malaren. At first glance, it just looks like a small cabin on a floating platform. 8. Crane Hotel, The Netherlands This upscale hotel comes with a strange twist. In Harlingen, a crane on the docks has been converted into a hotel that has boasted tons of high-end corporate clients including Red Bull, Louis Vuitton and Heineken. When they began renovations on this crane that, at the time, was sitting in an abandoned fishing wharf, they left the observation windows for a fantastic view of Amsterdam which sits just across the river. 7. Palacio de Sal, Bolivia This one is pretty unique! How about a hotel made entirely of salt?? The walls are salt, the floor, the ceiling- even most of the furniture! It makes sense because the Palacio de Sal in Bolivia, which means the salt palace, is located just 15 miles away from the famous great salt flats of Salar de Uyuni, where all their raw material from. 6. Propeller Island City Lodge, Germany This hotel is all about artistic creativity. Propeller Island in Berlin is quite the spectacle. It has a total of 27 rooms, all of which are unique, with an entirely different theme. There’s one room that is a prison cell, another that is a crypt- with coffin included, and a room that is entirely surrounded by mirrors!! When I was thinking about the different themes that each of these rooms could have, none of these came to mind. 5. Hotel Lindenwirt, Germany This hotel is also located in Germany, except instead of Berlin, its home is in Rudesheim in Rhine Valley, which is famous for its wine. They’re unique twist is that you can sleep in a wine barrel! Don’t worry, they’ve tried to make it more comfortable than you think. And the beds are separated so if you are hoping for a romantic night, might be tough. But, it is surrounded by beautiful views! The house has been run by the same family for generations! 4. Hobbit Motel, New Zealand Located on the North Island of New Zealand is the Hobbit Motel at Woodlyn Park. Inspired by the Lord of the Rings, these units are located in the side of a hill with grazing donkey and sheep. Not only is it hobbit themed but it has its own kitchen, living area and bedroom making it completely self-sufficient housing! The motel contains ten units total. 3. Magic Mountain Hotel, Chile This magical place is right out of a fairytale. It’s a mountain on a mountain! And to get to it you have to go through a waterfall, high up in the Andes mountains in the Chilean Forest. The Magic Mountain Hotel peeks out from the Huilo Huilo Reserve in Chile. It is a wooden cone, covered with moss, gnarled with vines, and a waterfall cascading down from the pinnacle. 2. Icehotel,Sweden The Icehotel located in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden, is, you guessed it, the largest hotel made entirely from snow and ice. Even more than a hotel, it is an art exhibition that was founded in 1989. Even your bed is made out of ice! This keeps the temperature throughout the hotel around 23 degrees Fahrenheit. 1. Karostas Cietums, Latvia This is one strange hotel where you will need to sign a waiver! It’s name is Karostas Cietums, located in Latvia and it was a prison during WWII. Now tourists are paying to spend the night there for the full “prison experience”. This is one case of turning dark history around, I guess. It previously housed revolutionaries, Stalin’s enemies and later the KGB during the Cold War. They lie as a continuous chain of highland along the western coast of South America. The range is over 7,000 km (4,300 mi) long, 200 km (120 mi) to 700 km (430 mi) wide (widest between 18° to 20°S latitude), and of an average height of about 4,000 m (13,000 ft). Over its length the Andean range is at several locations split into several ranges, often two great ranges, named Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Occidental, often separated by a intermediate depression. The Andes mountains extend over seven countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela, some of which are known as Andean States. The Andes mountain range is the highest mountain range outside Asia. The highest peak, Aconcagua, rises to 6,962 m (22,841 ft) above sea level. The summit of Mount Chimborazo in the Ecuadorean Andes is the point on the Earth's surface most distant from its center, because of the equatorial bulge. flying over mountains in chile andes flying mountains flying over chile mountains in chile andes chile chile earthquake earthquake mountain
