So, What does the Torah say about sex? And what are people doing? This controversial and intense lecture goes deep into the concept of sex and marital relations in jewish law, and in practice. What make a woman beautiful? What is it about women that men are so attracted to? Why is there such lewd lust and intense desire surrounding women? The truth is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in this modern generation, the beholders are pretty confused in their heads. This inspiring class tries to wake us up to reconsider our passions, control our animalistic desires, and focus on the true meaning of life. Does the Bible allow marital relations? How about modern Jewish law? What does the halacha in Shulchan Aruch say for orthodox jews and orthodox judaism? What does God think about sex, and pre-marital sex. The purpose of our lives is to connect to God, our desires should be to Hashem (God), we should be desiring God, and we should be focusing on looking for God in our wives and soulmate, not looking for pleasure from our soulmate. But as long as we are just looking for pleasure, we will never truly love our wives, or connect to her soul, we will stay at a very superficial physical level of connection in our relationship. Personal Holiness, Personal Purity, and Shmirat Habrit (Guarding the covenant) are the first steps in building a real lasting meaningful relationship with your spouse. The inspirational speech also talks about what to look for in a spouse, and what to look for in a shidduch. What makes a good match? What makes a good shidduch? Our hope is that these inspirational videos will bring you closer to Hashem (The Creator) and inspire and motivate you to find your connection to God with joy, faith, and trust (Simcha, Emunah, and Bitachon in Hebrew). The classes are based mostly on the teachings of Rabbi Nachman of Breslev, with a strong emphasis on Hitbodedut (personal prayer, secluded with Hashem) and Emunah (faith). Day 29 November 13, 2017: A mass protest took place in front of the Recruiting Office in Jerusalem, where a religious Jewish girl had been arrested for not serving in the Israeli army. The protesters came to the victim's defense and attempted to prevent the police from transferring her to the military prison. After the police did manage to get her into a police vehicle, the masses of protesters, blocking the streets in the neighborhood on all sides, made it so difficult for the officers to drive that they decided to let her free. After her release, the masses broke into a spontaneous dance.

Two Orthodox sisters living in Brooklyn want to break the stigma associated with dressing modestly. Australian transplants Simi Polonsky and Chaya Chanin are the creators of a fashion label, The Frock NYC, which adheres to the dress code required in the Orthodox Jewish community but does so with a fashionable flair. #Jewish #fashion #clothes #orthodox #style Orthodox and Hasidic women — who are required wear skirts or dresses and must cover their knees, shoulders, neckline and other areas of their bodies deemed “immodest” — can now do so while expressing their personal style. Two Orthodox sisters living in Brooklyn want to break the stigma associated with dressing modestly. Australian transplants Simi Polonsky and Chaya Chanin are the creators of fashion label The Frock NYC, which adheres to the strict dress code required in the Orthodox Jewish community — but does so with a fashionable flair. Orthodox and Hasidic women must cover their knees, shoulders, neckline and other areas of their bodies deemed “immodest.” “To the average person, the stereotype of an Orthodox Jewish woman and many modest-dressing women is that they’re dowdy, unattractive and frumpy,” Polonsky told The Post. As a teen, Polonsky struggled to adhere to the dress code, prompting her to work on creative ways to cover up without crimping her personal style and forming the basis for her eventual fashion line. “It was so uncool to dress modest. I didn’t want to be uncool, so how can we coolify being modest,” the designer told The Post. Shternie Mangami and Zelda Volkov count themselves as big fans of the brand and praise it for making shopping easier. “It was always hard for me to find cute clothing because of our modest restrictions, and I find that that’s what attracts everyone to them — that they’re so fun and hip and exciting,” Volkov told The Post. While The Frock’s designs are considered demure by many standards, critics of the label argue any push towards modernity is controversial and hurts the community. “I can’t believe that this woman in this community or these women are wearing this and promoting this, and what’s gonna happen to our children. If our daughters see this, what’s the next thing?” Chanin said of the reaction she has received from some of her peers. Rabbi Simon Jacobson explained, “It’s a real raw-nerve type of topic. It touches the buttons.” Controversy aside, the label has cultivated a following. The owners, who founded the business in 2010, said they started out small by dressing women in their Jewish community but now have customers all over the globe. The designers see no conflict between their traditional dress code and free expression. “We live in America, the country that is governed by probably the most laws that you can, and we’re known as the land of the free. So to us, having guidelines and boundaries doesn’t take away our freedom,” Polonsky told The Post. Jacobson said even though the fashion label is controversial, he believes it is ultimately positive for the Jewish community. “I love the idea that people are attempting to bridge the two worlds. To show that traditional Judaism is very much with the times, can be very cool, can be very hip, can be very fashionable and beautiful,” Jacobson told The Post. A black woman went on an angry rant at a Jewish man in the middle of a crowded morning subway as shocked commuters looked on. The pair were riding a train in New York City when the Jewish man call her a racist in what appeared to be an argument over seats. The initial disagreement was not caught on camera but it seemed the woman made a comment about Jews when he didn't stand up for someone else. He demanded to know what she meant by 'you guys' while she shouted 'because your family went through the holocaust?' as the video began. 'You said I was being racist so you tell me what I'm being racist towards. You're Jewish, and I said if a Jewish family got on her, somebody would have got up - that is not a racist thing, that is a factual statement,' she yelled. 'Judaism is not a race, it is a religion.' The Jewish man's responses, which were rarely raised above speaking volume, were usually drowned out by her shouting, but he appeared to tell her to calm down. 'No, I need to come down because I'm schooling your a**. You guys think you're so f**king smart but guess what, I'm going to teach you a lesson on this f**king train today,' she responded. He tried to tell her that they were the same and shouldn't be racist to each other, saying 'I'm a person, you are a person'. She replied: 'No, we're different, understand that. You wanna know why? Because your people treat my people different in our community.' 'No, that's not true,' he said, before she accused Jews of refusing to rent to black people. He responded by saying he didn't own a house. 'You said that I was racist so I'm addressing your people. You said I was racist because I brought up Judaism, right?' she said, launching into a long tirade. 'You wouldn't have called me a racist if I said a Mexican family came on here, right? I'm not hateful, let me school you, did I say Jews are dirty? Did I say they stink?' The Jewish man insisted what she said initially was in fact racist, but she declared several times: 'Judaism is not a race!' The pair exchanged 'yes it is', 'no it isn't' responses before the video ended. Unlike many other religions, Jews are also considered a race and six million of them were murdered by the Nazis on racial, not religious, grounds. Those who consider themselves ethnically Jewish may not practice Judaism, and many people of other races are followers of the religion.

Why all the hate for the Jews? Before we look at why people hate Jews, also known as Antisemitism, we need to define “Jew.” A Jew is someone who identifies with the cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism and who traces their ancestry to the ancient Hebrew people of Israel, all the way back to Abraham. Jewish people are considered an ethnoreligious group. Both an ethnic group and a religion. There are plenty who identify as Jews yet are not religious. Israel’s Law of Return, which is the law that gives Jews the right to visit and be a citizen of Israel, says a Jew is someone with either a Jewish mother or who has converted to Judaism. Anyway, during the time of Jesus in ancient Israel, many were of course Jewish, including Jesus himself. After Jesus died, his followers started a new religion called Christianity. As Christianity spread, and as more and more Roman emperors converted to the religion, Jews became marginalized in society, even though Jews worshipped the same God as Christians did. Roman rulers viewed the refusal of the Jewish community to accept Jesus as the Messiah as a threat. They straight up passed laws that discriminated against Jews. In the year 399, a law saying Jews couldn’t marry Christians, in 439, a law saying Jews couldn’t hold positions in government. In 531, a law saying they couldn’t appear as witnesses against Christians in court. Rumors began to spread that Jews had horns and tails, and that they killed Christian children and used their blood for rituals. In the Middle Ages, many societies forced Jews to live in segregated ghettos and wear special clothing. The Catholic Church did not allow Jews to own land, so Jews couldn’t build up wealth through property. However, the Church also didn’t let Christians loan money for profit. Jews could, so they often turned to money lending to build up wealth. Due to the fact that nearly every moneylender happened to be Jewish, this ended up creating a stereotype that Jews were greedy. I mean, people who loan money and charge interest throughout history have rarely been seen in a positive light, amIright? Christian rulers used Jewish money to build extravagant churches and build up armies. By the 11th century, Christianity dominated Europe, and the main minority religion was Judaism. Jews seemed to be the one group Christians could not convert, seen as outsiders. By this time, the Catholic Church was even teaching that Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus. And then, the Black Death. During the 14th century, the bubonic plague spread quickly across Europe, killing around ⅓ of its entire population. Since this was before science, people had no idea what was causing it. Due to superstition and fear, and without any evidence whatsoever, Christians blamed Jews for causing the plague, accusing them of poisoning wells to spread the disease.

An off-duty soldier took on a crowd of ultra-Orthodox Israeli Jews during a recent protest in Jerusalem regarding compulsory military service. Ultra-Orthodox men aren't allowed to touch women other than their wives, so soldier Nomi Golan initially used her body to disperse the crowd, who spat, kicked, and cursed at her. Then, as the crowd grew even more violent, Golan resorted to physical attacks to defend herself. Israel's ultra-Orthodox community has been exempt from compulsory military service for decades, but Israel's Supreme Court recently struck down the law, saying it was discriminatory, leading ultra-Orthodox Jews to protest across the country. Those protests have been ongoing. Around the time of the Gaza Massacre I decided to put together a short video called IT COULD ONLY BE ISRAEL, after the tourist advertising slogan. I downloaded around 30 or 40 files from this site and edited many of them. The previous few months I had added a lot to my main website prior to ending it all (or so I thought then). I realise now of course that however much I have suffered in this life, it is as nothing compared with the suffering of so many of the Palestinian people. After preparing these videos I got sidetracked by other things; I have both researched and published a great deal since then, but with the current situation in Occupied Palestine, this compilation - for which I cannot take any credit - is long overdue. Enjoy.

Read Ceil's whole story at: https://jewsforjesus.org/our-stories/then-i-met-messiah/ Feel like you relate to Ceil's story? Chat with us: https://jewsforjesus.org/live-chat/ I was newly married and I had just gone to my girlfriend’s wedding and had come back. It was late at night and I just went into this room that had a window in. It was a pantry and looked out and here was this huge star in the sky. And all of a sudden, I realized that I believed that the Christmas story was true. The fact that I believed that it was true meant that I really needed to investigate further about who Jesus was. As a child I was like maybe under five or six years old. I would pray to God and I never thought that God loved me. It was never said to me that he loved me or didn’t love me, but I felt I could ask him for anything because he was God. So, I would ask for things and then I stopped praying because it didn’t mean anything to me, that as I stopped praying in a personal way, but I would recite the Hebrew prayers. But there was nothing spiritual in that. It was just an exercise in what I was supposed to do as a Jewish person. My parents expected that I would do everything according to the Jewish laws that they kept and I – as I got older wondered why it was okay for various Jewish people to keep various parts of our rules and regulations and some did and some didn’t. It was very confusing. I began to sort of rebel; I began to eat non-kosher food when I was away from home and things like that and I found out that I was – I didn’t even get a stomachache so I thought, “Well you know, maybe God doesn’t care or maybe there isn’t even a God.” By the time I got to high school, I had joined chorus because I was very much into music at the time I sang the carols. I would always sing them when I was younger without feeling really guilty about it except that I would not sing about Jesus being my Lord or my Savior, because I knew that I was Jewish and I wasn’t supposed to believe in him but I never really felt bad about saying the word “Jesus” or anything just so it didn’t have “Lord” connected with it because then I would feel like I was doing something against my religion. What had started me thinking about Jesus was the fact that I was singing all these Christmas carols and I began to think about the words the – the carol that really became sort of pivotal in my beginning to think a little bit about who he was was when I sang “O Come Emmanuel” during the high school program. I lived in a very Jewish neighborhood but the few people who are not Jewish were either Irish or Italian Catholic. I would see a picture of a crucifix. I always felt very bad for Jesus on the cross and I felt like I was sharing in his shame if I looked at Him. Well, I realized then that I now had my own home and I was free to make my own decisions and I was free to explore what I really felt and what I really believed and we were expecting our first child and I knew that I wanted to impart some kind of spirituality to the child but first, I had to find out what that was for myself. I had started out by just wanting to read about who Jesus was and the only way I could do this I knew was by reading the New Testament which I had never read. I went right to the Gospel of Matthew. I opened it up and it started to give the genealogy and I said, “They’re talking about Jesus being Jewish. All of these forefathers of his, they were all Jews and why don’t our Jewish people believe that?” I prayed that God would show me was I supposed to go back to the Judaism that I had spurned and be very religious, very Orthodox, light the candles and say all the prayers and do all the things that a good Jew I thought was supposed to do, or was there something about Jesus that I needed to know was there another way but I needed to know the truth, so then I asked God to show me the truth and after that was when I think that moment of looking out of the pantry window and seeing that star kind of helped things to formulate more in my mind that I really did believe and I needed to know more.

A 14-year-old girl was walking home from school when a suspect allegedly put his arm around her, tried to lure her, and held her arm so she couldn't run away. On Tuesday at 4:39 p.m., the teen was walking home from school when the suspect approached her on East 7th Street, according to the NYPD. The suspect allegedly put his arm around her and tried to lure her, police said. When the victim tried to run away, the suspect held onto her arm. She managed to escape his grasp and the suspect fled the scene. The victim was not injured. Residents in the area were surprised to hear about this attempted abduction, especially considering how busy it typically is with school aged children and parents at the time of the incident. Personal surveillance cameras in the Gravesend neighborhood in Brooklyn are a common sight as they've helped deter criminal activity before and now police are hoping it helps nab the alleged kidnapper. "I hope they find this person and we really have to careful to not leave our teenage daughters alone and make sure we keep tabs on them," said one woman, who asked not to be identified. The NYPD is looking for a white man, around 20 years old, who is 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown eyes, short black hair, medium complexion and was last seen wearing a white collared shirt, black jacket, black pants and black shoes. 30 years ago 2 remarkable mass movements transported this community to the modern State of Israel and now the festival has once again become recognised, much like the Ethiopian Jews themselves, as an authentic part of the wider Jewish tradition. This year as Sigd approaches we explore how this community came to arrive in the state of Israel. It is an incredible story of espionage, heroism and unyielding faith that led to tens of thousands of people leaving their homes and risking their lives. We join both those who were instrumental in the operations themselves and members of the Ethiopian Jewish community to explore how these so-called miraculous events happened and what they mean today. The anguished mother of an Orthodox Jewish girl who's accused her former counselor of repeated molestation spoke exclusively to PIX 11, as the case got set to go to the jury. "I cry. I want to kill myself," Rachel K. told PIX 11, "how can I be so blind?" The youngest of Rachel K's seven children testified before a Brooklyn jury last week that counselor Nechemya Weberman, a father of ten, started undressing her and asking for oral sex in his home office in Williamsburg, beginning when she was just 12 years old. She claimed the abuse went on for three years and escalated to include a form of sexual intercourse. The principal at the girl's school in Williamsburg had received word that she wasn't dressing modestly enough, complaining about the thick tights Satmar Hasidic girls are required to wear. Her parents chose Weberman, the principal's cousin, to work with the pre-teen, so she wouldn't be expelled ftom Bais Rachel School, part of the United Talmudical Academy. The girl's family said it paid Weberman $150 an hour, but Rachel K. balked when Weberman took the 12 year old on an all-day trip upstate. When the mom expressed concern, she told PIX Weberman threatened to stop working with the child. "So then I said okay, I'll write him an apology letter." The defense and prosecution teams presented closing arguments Thursday, in a case that blew the lid open on dealings in the insular, Satmar Hasidic community. The defense said the accuser, now 18, had motives to lie. Sandra Richman, who handled summations for the defense, said the girl fell in love with an older teen and blamed Weberman and her father for the boy's later arrest on statutory rape charges. There was also a business dispute involving Weberman and the girl's sister. Richman pointed out the prosecution didn't even put the NYPD detective who handled the initial case on the witness stand and didn't offer proof that Weberman made the girl watch pornographic movies. "There's no forensic examination of any computer," Richman said. "There's no looking for blood, semen or saliva. And hey, we've all seen CSI (referring to the TV show). DNA lasts forever." Richman noted the girl had always been a vocal student who never hesitated to speak her mind. "This is a girl who never had a problem complaining about anything she didn't like....this is not someone that's going to let someone touch her and not say anything." One of the accuser's aunts, Goldy Gold, said she, too, was molested by a religious figure in the community, when she was only 11 years old, but that she kept going back to see the man "because he was nice." She explained that Satmar girls are never told anything about sex, until a week before their arranged marriages. Gold said of her niece's testimony, "What happened to me never came out. She's liberating me from my trauma." The prosecution presented closing arguments Thursday afternoon, reminding the jury about a frmake counselor who testified the girl was suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Prosecutors noted that Weberman had three locks on the door of his home office and that other, troubled girls even lived in the office. "The defendant is anything but a pious man," the District Attorney's office said. "He gained her trust and he abused the relationship, kissing her, undressing her ... and when she asked him to stop, he said I'm not doing anything wrong." The accuser is now 17. Her mother Rachel said Thursday that by coming forward, "It's like she broke a world record." The jury gets the case Friday morning and will consider 88 criminal counts against Weberman that stretch over a three year period.

As always, check out andreagrinberg.com for tons of scarf wrapping ideas and lots more! FYI - I've removed the previous video from everywhere except youtube because I want to improve it. It's staying up here so people can still access it and give me some pointers. Here's what I think needs work: - I need to figure out who I am speaking to. The video seemed to be directed those who wonder about why Jewish married women cover their hair, AND those who have been covering their hair for a while. Both messages are important, but need to be addressed separately. - It needs to be thought out and completed in more than a couple of hours. It is such an important subject and I just have so much more that I want to convey. - I need to get more comfortable speaking to a camera. I have no idea how to do this. Any pointers? Those that know me well could probably see the tension in my face and that I wasn't able to connect. Maybe I should stick to writing for now... If you have any suggestions please let me know! - I have realized that there needs to be a balance between getting information out quickly (because it needs to be heard!) and conveying it effectively. I think I felt too much urgency in getting this one out. So I am going to leave it up on youtube for anyone that wants to check it out, but please keep in mind that it's just a fraction of what I want to do. I'm going to take it off the site, etc. until I can give the subject what it deserves. Shabbat Shalom! Love, Andrea

"If it is our fate to be the last flicker of the Jewish candle in Kolkata, then so be it." Everyone agrees that Kolkata is one of India's most beautiful cities. But not many know that a majority of the landmarks in the city were built not by the British, but by members of the Jewish community. Once a community several thousands strong, they are now down to just over 20 members. Immediately after the second world war, countries like Austalia and Canada opened their doors to immigrants from around the world. With the formation of the state of Israel, thousands of Jews left the country to go back to their homeland. Many gave up great jobs in India, just to live in tents in Israel. Despite their diminished numbers, the Jews of Kolkata still own three Synagogues, three schools and a cemetary in Narkedanga. Members of the community are now reaching out to Jewish communities in Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States, to see if they would help to manage Jewish affairs in the city. Members of the community are resigned to the fact that they may be the last generation of Jews in Kolkata. The way they see it, it's the city's loss. 101 Traces looks at the last of anything: ethnic communities, folk craftsmen, disappearing trades, forgotten people. It sketches portraits of these unique individuals, locked in a battle they cannot win: a battle against the future. Together, they represent the dying whispers of ancient heritage and traditional individuality. As India moves towards homogenized global pop culture, 101 Traces honors the people, the objects, and the skills that connect us to our ancient identity. hasidic jewish girl getting baptized Last week, the ActoLik reported that four ultra-Orthodox girls, graduates of Satmar's best educational institutions, voluntarily converted to Christianity at official ceremonies in churches in the New York area. This was reported by journalist Menachem Rahat in the religious newspaper "Mood of the Wind". These are girls from Torah schools, who studied at Satmar institutions in Boro Park, Williamsburg and Monsey, from childhood to adulthood. The first to lead the wave of apocalyptic conversions is a young woman, of a well-known rabbinic family, the Paneth family. A few months ago, she married in the community with a Satmar Hasidic disciple, at a ceremony in which all the usual limitations of Hasidism were practiced. After a short while, says Rahat, the couple divorced. The woman did not return to her parents' house and actually disappeared. This was discovered in a video uploaded to the website of one of the churches in the area, and it turned out that the girl was converted voluntarily. The woman who had baptized did so in front of the cameras without trying to hide her identity and her name. She was interviewed at length and said that she was raised in the extreme sect of Satmar, to a privileged rabbinic family, but concluded that "all this satmarism is bluff, vanity and evil." She decided to leave Judaism and take the extreme step of conversion. The religious newspaper says that at first Satmar tried to hide the shocking incident, but after the video was uploaded to the Internet, it was admitted there that the woman had indeed baptized and said that the educators and rabbis of the community must gather and examine how they reached this situation. In addition to these two, Rahat writes, we are now talking in Satmar in New York about the baptizing of two other young girls who are graduates of Satmar's education system subscribe for new video updates

Video belongs to Farhan Khan (Farhank501), I gain access to this video a few hours before Farhan's Youtube account was deleted. Norman Finkelstein in a debate with a Zionist Israeli girl. Norman Gary Finkelstein (born December 8, 1953) is an American political scientist, activist, professor and author. His primary fields of research are the Israeli--Palestinian conflict and the politics of the Holocaust, an interest motivated by the experiences of his parents who were Jewish Holocaust survivors. He is a graduate of Binghamton University and received his Ph.D in Political Science from Princeton University. He has held faculty positions at Brooklyn College, Rutgers University, Hunter College, New York University, and, most recently, DePaul University, where he was an assistant professor from 2001 to 2007. In 2007, after a highly publicized row between Finkelstein and a notable opponent of his, Alan Dershowitz, Finkelstein's tenure bid at DePaul was denied. Finkelstein was placed on administrative leave for the 2007--2008 academic year, and on September 5, 2007, he announced his resignation after coming to a settlement with the university on generally undisclosed terms. An official statement from DePaul strongly defended the decision to deny Finkelstein tenure, stated that outside influence played no role in the decision, and praised Finkelstein "as a prolific scholar and outstanding teacher".
