5 Tips to dressing with Italian style

03:48
Tracy Gold gives you tips on how to dress with Italian style when visiting Italy.****** For details on Italian Style Makeovers click here https://goo.gl/bcYBWe Subscribe to channel https://goo.gl/wSXFlV Visit website http://tracygoldfashiontips.com/ Follow me on Instagram https://goo.gl/QHy3Qt Details for Italian Style Makeover click here https://goo.gl/bcYBWe About the video: Having spent some time in Italy, I was inspired by their amazing sense of style. They are known for dressing well and doing so with such confidence. Here are my top tips to dressing with Italian style… yourself. 1. The Italians are stylishly understated. The look is simple, but well put together. You can create this look by choosing one statement piece that has the wow factor and then keeping the rest of your outfit fairly simple. For example, wear a decorative jacket and pair it with jeans and boots or wear a bold colour scarf with an otherwise neutral outfit. 2. The Italians place more importance on personal style rather than the latest trends. Don’t get me wrong, they are aware of the latest trends, they are just not slaves to them. Above all, Italians wear what suits them. You can create this look by choosing a few key fashionable pieces that will update your existing wardrobe and reflect your personal style. For example, this red leather biker jacket that I bought in Milan is a trendy piece, but it works so well with my existing wardrobe and personal style. 3. Italian women know how to create a sensual look without showing too much skin. You won’t see many super wearing super short, tight skirts or plunging necklines revealing cleavage. You can create this look yourself by showing skin selectively. Either show a bit of leg and keep the neckline covered or show a bit of neckline and keep your legs covered. 4. The Italians understand that fitted clothing works better for their body shapes, than baggy clothing. Be prepared in invest in key pieces that fit you well and suit your shape, but that doesn’t have to mean paying big money for designer brands. You could find you your perfect fit on high street or in vintage stores. Either way, learn what suits your shape and only buy what really works for you. 5. Wear stylish flats Italian women walk a lot, especially in the big cities. There is no time for hobbling around in stilettos. This means they need to be comfortable, but they never forget style. Wearing flats doesn’t have to mean looking dowdy. It all depends on the style of flat shoes you wear, what you wear with them and that you wear them with confidence. Style tips to steal from the Italian woman. A unique and captivating take on personal style.

06:12
Wearing everything from bold statement pieces to minimalistic silhouettes, Italian women have a unique and captivating take on personal style. The Italian women always look put-together, even when they're just heading to the grocery store. To get the look, you need a chic pair of stilettos, a well tailored dress or a pair of pants, with the just right amount of femininity in the form of a deep V neck, topped with a blazer or a structured jacket, 2:16. Italian women’s wardrobes are based on a set of wardrobe essentials that are made with high quality materials. Anything made with natural fibers such as silk, linen, cotton, merino wool or cashmere is a wardrobe staple. Femininity is also an important aspect of the Italian style. Are you proud of your cleavage? Flaunt it. Great legs? Show them off. The key is to emphasize the parts of your body you're most comfortable with. You can be sexy and feminine with just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. The key is emphasizing your curves, 3:05. Italian women accessorize. It's good to remember the little details. Always commit to your accessories, i.e never leave the house without a scarf, designer sunglasses, chunky bracelets, bib necklaces, drop earrings, a headband 4:45, anything that will set you apart. And finally, the Italian women like having fun and express their personal style. Love the lady's outfit at 4:54. Animal print top with metallic shoes....Sequins, glitter and gemstones are very much a part of any Italian woman’s wardrobe. Whether they’re wearing a sequin skirt, glitter shoes, or a statement necklace, they try to balance them with neutral basics such as a pair of jeans. Enjoy the looks from Rome’s fashionable streets and have a wonderful weekend. How to refresh you fall wardrobe? How to shop and dress like an Italian woman. Revamp your fall wardrobe with Italian brands. Part 1.

06:36
Though most of us are spending the last few weeks of summer through heatwave, fall will be here before you know it. We may still be suffering through heat wave after heat wave, but it’s never too early to consider investing in a few key pieces for the season ahead. Let's get our inspirations from these lovely Italian ladies and remember that there is no need for a new fall wardrobe. All it takes are a few unique pieces to breathe new life into your wardrobe. There is a way of incorporating effortless style into your everyday look with just a few smart buys that will last you long into next season and the one after, too. A new handbag is at the top of the list. It would jazz up everything, from your jeans-and-t-shirt daywear ensemble to your smarter evening looks. A coat is another investment that would spruce up your wardrobe. Throw it on top of a dress in the fall or wear to the office and watch how it pulls together even the most mismatched of outfits, making it perfect for those days when nothing seems quite right. As far as shoes are concerned, there are so many choices. An intoxicating range of shoes that ran the gamut from platform boots to alluring evening ready kitten heels. And finally, you can’t go wrong with another chunky knit for the chilly fall months. It's the easiest way to feel polished, even on your laziest days. How to dress with Italian style part 4 - how to wear fitted clothing with Italian style

02:55
Tracy Gold gives you tips on how to wear fittted clothing with Italian style.****** For details on Italian Style Makeovers click here https://goo.gl/bcYBWe Subscribe to channel https://goo.gl/wSXFlV Visit website http://tracygoldfashiontips.com/ Follow me on Instagram https://goo.gl/QHy3Qt Details for Italian Style Makeover click here https://goo.gl/bcYBWe About the video: For Italian women, the fit of the clothing is very important. Not once, did I see a woman wearing baggy, shapeless clothing. In this video, I am going to show you how to achieve a fitted look for your body shape. If you are panicking about just the thought of wearing fitted clothing, don’t worry… there is a BIG difference between fitted clothing and super tight. Italian women seem to understand that wearing fitted clothing better suits their body shapes. A good fit means that the clothing flatters your figure by nipping in the right places and skimming in others. How to achieve this look: Choose your fabrics well: The fabric of an item of clothing can either make it work for you or not. Some fabrics cling and show every line and bump and others support and hold. It’s important to find out which is which. Prints are fabulous for disguising the parts you aren’t crazy about. I know…. you thought the opposite. The key to choosing your print is not necessarily the size of print, but more the fit of the garment. If you wear a printed top in a baggy cut or a size too big, it WILL make you look bigger than you are. BUT if you wear it in a fitted style, in the correct size, it works like magic. GUCCI / ITALIAN FASHION / GIRLS DESIGNER GUIDES

09:50
The story of the House of Gucci. They mastered the art of branding, line extensions, retail experiences, and product licensing strategies. Italian designers have sailed forth from their native shores like the explorers of old to conquer much of the new world with their coveted treasures and shiny retail palazzos. They have infiltrated the dream factories of Hollywood and now their names are as ubiquitous on the red carpets as on the Milan runways. Born from humble beginnings in Florence’s 1921, Gucci’s first incarnation was a small, family-owned saddlery shop. Its focus was on leather goods for the fine horseman: saddles, boots gloves and saddlebags. Founder Guccio Gucci (1881-1953) was inspired by the luxurious luggage of travelling Parisians whilst living abroad and soon turned the business’s attention to fine leather goods with classic styling. Although Gucci organised his workrooms for industrial methods of production, he maintained traditional aspects of fabrication. Initially, Gucci employed skilled workers in basic Florentine leather crafts, attentive to finishing. With expansion, machine stitching was a production method that supported construction. The Young, the Beautiful, the Trendy Italian woman, chic with affordable style.

07:26
We're living in a golden age of comfy and affordable dressing. When you see a new high fashion trend, Zara seems to be the next stop to get the runway style for less. Uniqlo, ZARA, H&M, Mango, Brandy Melville are the places Italians love to go to for low-priced basics like relaxed t-shirts, cardigans, boyfriend jeans, dresses and even accessories. These brands also keep up-to-date by providing trendier options like high-waisted pants, maxi dresses, chunky fall sweaters, tailored blazers and more... while the price point on any given item is rarely above $50. Italian young women are no longer interested in flashy Louis Vuitton handbags or Gucci sunglasses. They are happy buying inexpensive articles of clothing and personalizing their looks with accessories which help them transition their look from context to context, without doing a full outfit change. It can be frustrating to not be able to afford the fashion that they actually want to wear, but sometimes they feel like half of the fun is actually in the shopping itself. When they are wandering through the aisles of chain stores, they still manage to enjoy themselves. It IS possible to have style on a budget and look like a millions buck, 1:59. It simply requires a shift in your mindset. À Suivre How to refresh you fall wardrobe? I was amazed to see that Italian women are actually quite short. In fact… I was tall there… I loved that. I noticed how much you have to walk if you live in an Italian city. There is no time to go hobbling around in stilettos. Well, the Italian women know how to do this with style. How to achieve this look: 1. Choose stylish flats. Wearing flats doesn’t mean you have to look dowdy, quite the contrary. In fact, around the world, flat shoes are outselling high heels. The higher demand for flat shoes, means designers are having to get creative and provide what the modern woman wants. These boots are a great example. I did get in Italy, but look around for shoes or boots that have just a touch of a heel for support, but not too high. Then wear them with confidence! Often we think we need a heel to feel confident. Not anymore. 2. Look out for flatforms. This is the latest trend. Here you can have extra height and comfort. Make sure the shoe has some tilt. This makes them easy to walk in and balance in. Flat flat flatforms can make you feel like you are stomping around on stilts. In this video series, I’m going to share with you what I learnt. In the next few videos I’m going to give you my top 5 tips to dressing with Italian style. 1. The Italians are stylishly understated. It’s not high maintenance with the hair, makeup, nails, clothing and accessories and more of everything. The look is well put together, but simple in a way. How to achieve this look? Choose one main focus and work around that. When creating an outfit, choose one main statement piece and then keep everything simple. In this outfit, the red leather jacket is the statement piece. The pants, top and shoes complement the look without stealing the show. If you are wearing bold clothing, keep your makeup and hair fairly natural, unless you are going out in the evening. If you love accessories, choose one main piece that will complement your outfit. To see some of the places in Italy that inspired me, click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRwuZE3oAhU

3 Old School Style Tips From An Italian Tailor | The Difference Between Dressing Vs Covering

Covering What’s the difference? First of all, let me put the two words into the right context. The saying “dressing against covering” is inspired by the motto of a retired professional tailor I’ve known for pretty much all my life: my father. (written by guest poster Mario Natella) The act of “dressing” translates the Italian “vestirsi” which I find it an elegant sound to describe the art of adorning your personal image. The word “covering” would translate the Italian “coprirsi”, which is a diplomatic way (almost at the brink of politeness) to indicate bad taste, at the least. Covering is as old as mankind. Even the first specimen of “homo neanderthalensis” had come to the obvious conclusion that tossing some fur on your body could come in handy every now and then Click Here To Read The Rest Of The Article - http://www.realmenrealstyle.com/dressing-vs-covering/

ITALIAN FASHION / GIRLS DESIGNER GUIDES

01:56
Fashion Industry Broadcast and Style Planet TV are proud to bring you their new Netflix Original series ‘The Girl’s Guides to the World of Designer Fashion’. This new 6 part series explores the seductive world of designer fashion. Series 1. The History of Lingerie Series 2. The Legend of the Designer Bag Series 3. The Mystery of the High Heel Series 4. American Fashion Series 5. Italian Fashion Series 6. Paris Fashion In This Series 5 We Look at the World of Italian Designer Fashion INTRO TEXT The global rise of Italian fashion can be traced back to the 1960’s when scores of international Jet-set dress buyers and status seekers flocked to Rome, as much for the couture designs of Valentino and Roberto Carpucci as for the search of La Dolce Vita. The jewelled island of Capri was their playground. Florence was famous for leathergoods and gold, and it didn’t hurt Florentine fortunes that Pucci and Ferragamo were Jet set must haves. In the 1970’s fashion heralded the arrival of ready-to-wear and the demand for practical masculine styled clothing that women could wear to work and Milan rose to power as Italy’s fashion epi-center. From this background rose the Italian fashion dynasties such as Armani, Gucci, Prada, Fendi and many more. Southern Italian Street Style. Edgier and More Rocker Chic than Parisian Chic.

03:34
Italian Street Style is More Rocker Chic than Parisian Chic. Italian women have a slightly aggressive look than French women. Lots of denim, torn jeans, patterned leggings, shorts, baggy harem pants, mini skirts, heavier make up, a harder edge if you like. Whether their style is bohemian, modern classic, rock ’n’ roll, androgynous, or preppy classic, they create edge with unusual outfit juxtapositions. They step outside their comfort zone with confidence and have fun. These photos were taken in Naples about a week ago. In this video, I’m going to tell you how Italian women create an elegant, sexy look without showing too much skin. While in Italy, I didn’t see women showing off much skin. You won’t see women wearing super short, tight skirts or plunging necklines revealing cleavage. Rather they create a sexy look in an elegant sort of way. How to achieve this look: If you are going to show off some skin, be selective. Choose one area to show at a time. For example, if you are going to wear a short dress, keep the neckline modest. If you want to wear a low cut top, balance your look by keeping the bottom part of your body covered. For this outfit, I’m showing off a bit of leg in this short skirt, but then I’ve balanced the look by covering up on top. If you are well blessed on top and your neckline reveals cleavage, simply put a cami underneath it. Pre Fall Rome Street Style. Italian food, fashion, and lifestyle.

05:58
This is Rome in September. We are in front of the Trevi Fountain 0:00-0:17. The fountain has been restored a few year ago by Fendi. This was a way for the company to give something back to city of Rome which has been part of its creative heritage. A famous tradition of the Fountain is for people to toss a coin over their shoulder into the Trevi's waters, which, legend has it, ensures a return to the city for visitors. Lifestyle in Rome centers around being passionate about life, to make even the most ordinary the extraordinary. Enjoying an espresso or unwinding from a busy day with the help of homemade pasta or gelato, are carried out with affection and devotion. Eating and drinking at cafés and restaurants in Rome aren't the only sources of entertainment, however. Modern day Rome is full of cultural affairs. As far as shopping goes, you'll find some of the biggest names in Italian fashion here, Fendi, Valentino, Bulgari, as well as boutiques by Prada, Armani, Versace, Ferragamo, Cavalli, Gucci, and many others. In the fall and winter, the Italian dress code entails bundling up with lots of layers. In fact, Italians often start wearing heavier clothing around October, regardless of whether the weather’s actually still quite mild...Until then, enjoy the pre fall Rome street style. Italian vs. American vs. English Men's Dress Shoes & What Distinguishes Them - Gentleman's Gazette

This video was made in collaboration with AceMarks, purveyor of Italian Men's Dress Shoes with a great bang for the buck. #dressshoes #acemarks #mensdressshoes Currently, they have a Kickstarter where you can get a pair of shoes for under $200: http://bit.ly/get-your-acemarks CHECK OUT OUR IN-DEPTH GUIDE TO SHOES, HERE: https://gentl.mn/what-makes-italian-shoes-different SHOP THE VIDEO: 1. Shadow Stripe Ribbed Socks Light Brown and Blue - https://gentl.mn/2FCAzSP 2. Brown Madder Silk Pocket Square - https://gentl.mn/2FEqbtW What makes Italian shoes different from English or American shoes? Hallmarks Of Italian Shoes Italy has a long-standing tradition in craftsmanship and specifically, in leather goods. Because of that, you can find lots of shoemakers still in Italy, as well as many shoe factories. Even in Europe, Italy has probably the highest density of bespoke shoemakers you can find. It's the same with tailors, shirt makers and other crafts especially related to menswear. One thing that always struck me about Italian bespoke shoes is that even a shoemaker in a small town has a very good eye for an elegant last. Not so in Italy; the construction you find in Italian bespoke shoes is usually a hand-sewn Goodyear welt. Sometimes you can also find the Norwegian welt which is called Norvegese in Italian and it's more visible, it is more time consuming and not many other shoemakers are so much in love with that welt as Italians are. Are Ace Marks The Best Italian Shoes Money Can Buy? Absolutely not, however, that's not their focus. They try to sell a shoe that is fairly priced with a very high-quality level and an extremely great value level at a lower price. So let's have a closer look at Italian made factory shoes such as Ace Marks. It's All About The Leather Italians are very good tanners and because of that, most Italian shoes are made of Italian leather. Unlike in other countries, you can find entire towns dedicated to leather tanning and it's just a joy to see that that craft is still so very much alive in Italy today. So when you look at quality Italian Shoes, they will likely have a hand burnished patina with either something darker areas and lighter areas which makes the shoe more lively, easier to combine, and it simply looks much better than a plain colored leather shoe. Shoe Construction Most quality Italian shoes are either Blake-stitched or Blake rapid stitched. Blake rapid is superior to just Blake and very similar to Goodyear in the sense that it's more complex but with Blake sometimes you also have the issue that the thread will transport water from the wet street directly to the inside of your shoe which can be quite uncomfortable. Shoe Quality In terms of costs, they're all very similar to each other including the machine-made Goodyear welt. In terms of quality, many would rate Goodyear welt on top of the bunch however, that's not necessarily true. A Goodyear welted shoe just has different characteristics than let's say a blake rapid shoe. Ultimately what matters more is the design of the last and how it works with your foot. When it comes to heel height Italian shoes have been all over the place. In the 70s, you saw really really tall heels but today, you can mostly find a moderate heel which is perfectly suitable for every kind of man. Overall I would say that Italian shoes are always a little more fashion-forward, they have lasts that are longer, maybe a little rounded, maybe a little more extreme, they're usually very stylish, and always put emphasis on elegance. What About English Factory Made Shoes? In my experience, they're generally a little stiffer which means the uppers are a little stiffer, the soles a little stiffer, and that's because they use the Goodyear welt method, machine welted almost exclusively in every factory I've ever seen. What About American Shoes Such As Allen Edmonds or Aldens? Just like English shoes, they're machine Goodyear welted and their lasts are generally a little more old-fashioned. Some people may call it clunky but overall, it's just a different type of last. Overall, I say American shoes are more similar to English shoes than Italian shoes but obviously, that's a generalization. You can always find exceptions to the rule. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to stay updated? A series of influential Italian designers, writers, artisans and creative directors reveal what 'Made in Italy' means to them and why Italian fashion has such enduring appeal.  In this episode we spoke to Angela Missoni of the eponymous Italian fashion house known for its innovative way with pattern and textiles. In this interview, Missoni considers the origins of the company, its self-sufficient approach to manufacturing, and how she keeps 60 years of Italian design heritage relevant to the modern world. This film was produced as part of a series for 'The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945 - 2014' exhibition which was on display from 5 April – 27 July 2014.
