We know some products are really dangerous for our health, and other products are good for us as they are healthy. It turns out it’s not so simple and some of the most promoted and popular foods can, in fact, harm you. Never eat these 10 dangerous foods for the sake of your own health and the health of your family. Even if you see the juice labels “not from concentrate” or “100% pure”, don't let this fool you. Juice, after being squeezed from different fruits, is kept in huge vacuum-sealed tanks where it can sit for up to a year before being packaged! And by that time, the juice has lost all its flavor, which is why manufacturers have to add artificial flavoring to make it taste fruity again. In most cases, cereals are loaded with refined carbohydrates and sugar. Even if the label assures you that it's fat-free and whole grain, check the list of ingredients. You'll most likely see that the product is full of sugar. Despite common belief, most yogurts don't contain probiotic bacteria since the process of pasteurization kills all these microorganisms. When consumed, trans-fats in ice-cream can cause high cholesterol, stroke, heart disease, and even cancer. Ice cream is also loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and synthetic preservatives. And if it’s pink, purple, or red, it’s most likely been colored with cochineal extract or carmine, additives which can cause bad allergic reactions. Popcorn has some genetically modified ingredients as well as taste-boosting chemicals and additives. This leads to health problems such as heart attacks, digestive issues, allergies, skin rashes, breathing problems, and the depressing list goes on. Even more, popcorn is extremely caloric. These oils, when heated, become nothing more than trans-fats. -One egg contains as much cholesterol as a big greasy burger. -Microwave popcorn’s almost always lined with the same toxic substance you can find in Teflon pans. -If candy doesn’t contain sugar, it contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, and saccharine. These substances are chemically processed and may cause some serious side effects. -Artificial sweeteners in diet soda can easily lead to weight gain as they trigger the production of insulin, which makes your body store fat. It's been a minute since I Shared a What I Eat In A Day video. Since I'm getting ready for all the upcoming Fashion Weeks from New York City to Milan, oh and Paris too, I thought it would be fun to share some new recipes that I prepare for myself when I am in work mode! I've always said eating healthy is a lifestyle that I subscribe too so it is important for me to get as much nutrition and antioxidants out of my meals as possible. This way I feel strong, fit, and balanced, especially during these cold winter months! Has anyone gotten sick this winter yet? I had my first cold right after my holiday. I try to make variations of my meals and I love to change things up everyday. Being creative in the kitchen with all the different foods that are available in season can be fun, but it doesn't always work out. I'll maybe share a video on all the recipes that didn't work out if you guys like. So after my holiday to Thailand I got super inspired to to come back and create my own healthy version of the famous Pad Thai. So if you try it at home I promise it's SUPER YUMMY! I feel like the kitchen is my lab and I love experimenting with different kinds of superfoods which can be amazing boosts for your body. The reason why they are this way, is not because they have good genes or they are just lucky. More often than not, it’s actually because they are putting some effort about it. They follow programs and rituals that differ from the average person. Fortunately, you can become fit and healthy too if you follow the healthy habits and healthy lifestyle changes that follow in this video. No 1: Never shop your food when you are hungry or stressed. it’s not good neither for your wallet nor for your figure to shop excessively because you feel like eating and trying more things that you should. Write down your grocery list with all the essentials and stick to it and shop when you are feeling full instead. No 2: Eat a salad before you eat anything else. Sometimes you need some calories to avoid eating more calories afterwards. Eating a salad first will not only ease your appetite, it can help keep your blood sugar levels under control as well. That means that you will stay feeling full for longer without having to take an extra whopping amount of calories to ease your hunger. No 3: Cook at least half of your meals yourself. When we don’t cook things ourselves, we will resort in often unhealthy and fattening food choices like fast food and processed ready meals which are loaded with trans fats, salt, sugar and preservatives--all the things that are nasty for you. By cooking your own meals instead, you will be able to make smarter and healthier choices. No 4: Get rid of distractions while eating. A Food Quality and Preference study has found that people who listen to music or are exposed to noise, are tempted to eat more than those who don’t. Experts say this happens because distractions like these block the parts of your brain from sending the signal that you are full even when you are so you feel tempted to eat more. Perhaps that explains why we eat ourselves out in restaurants who play music. No 5: Exercise. Exercise is necessary for keeping your body active and keeping your weight under control, even without dieting. Business is no excuse for not getting active. Just a 20 minutes per day are enough to keep your body fit and active. No 6: Follow healthy sleep patterns. The quality of our sleep largely influences our mood, energy and bodily responses once we wake up. Make it a habit to sleep early at the same time each day for 7-8 hours to get the most of your sleep. Finally, don’t forget to keep a track of your progress. That includes your diet, exercise, and healthy life style changes you’ve made to lose weight or gain other health benefits.
