Jean Simeon Chardin: A collection of 174 paintings (HD)

17:50
Jean-Siméon Chardin: A collection of 174 paintings (HD) Description: "A renowned French artist of the 18th Century, Chardin was well known for his still-life works and genre paintings. His refined and realistic style had a lasting influence on some of the greatest artists of the 19th and 20th Centuries, including Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954) and Paul Cézanne (1839 – 1906). His depictions were of simple subjects, but masterful in their execution, as exemplified by his works now in the Uffizi Gallery, Boy Playing Cards and, Girl with Racket and Shuttlecock. His training was under French history painters, Pierre Jacques Cazes and Noël-Nicolas Coypel (1690 – 1734), though he trained mostly from his own studies. According to the Getty Museum Biography on Chardin the painter got his start executing signposts for tradesmen and detailing the works of other artists. He was documented in 1724 as a member of the Academy of Saint Luc in Paris, but was discovered by Nicolas de Largillière (1656 – 1746), a portrait painter. Largillière recommended Chardin’s entry into the Royal Academy of Painting (Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture) in 1728. The works that garnered his acceptance into the Academy were, La Raie (The Ray) and, The Buffet, displaying his realistic representations and established his nickname as the “painter of animals and fruit.” From here Chardin developed his skill of still-life further and grew a love of painting genre works. The painter’s reputation escalated him into gainful patronage, including a pension from King Louis XV (1710 – 1774). His works continually evolved from simple still-life painting into highly detailed representations of everyday life in French society. After 1770, Chardin began to lose his eyesight, but still progressed as an artist with his adoption of pastel painting. The artist once said of painting, “We use colors, but we paint with our feelings,” and for him still-life subjects had a life of their own. As the 19th/20th Century French novelist, Marcel Proust (1871 – 1922) wrote, "We have learned from Chardin that a pear is as living as a woman, that an ordinary piece of pottery is as beautiful as a precious stone." Proust also wrote of the artist, “Everyday life will charm you once you have absorbed Chardin’s painting for a few days like a lesson. Then, having understood the life of his painting, you will have discovered the beauty of life." --- BOOKS about Jean-Siméon Chardin: [1] CHARDIN by Pierre Rosenberg --- https://amzn.to/2K8o9kv [2] DISCOVERIES: CHARDIN: AN INTIMATE ART by Pierre Rosenberg & Helene Prigent --- https://amzn.to/2ONcoAE [3] CHARDIN by Marianne Roland Michel --- https://amzn.to/2qNA2Ug MUSIC: Kevin MacLeod - Mesmerize Mesmerize by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1500005 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] SUPPORT MY WORK AT: https://www.patreon.com/LearnFromMasters LIST OF ARTISTS already posted on LearnFromMasters: https://goo.gl/hri4HE --- Thank you so much for your support! #LearnFromMasters #FrenchPainter #BaroqueMovement #OnlineArtGallery #CollectionOfPaintings #OilPaintings #ArtHistory #JeanSimeonChardin

06:07
We hope this video has given you some insights about Indian Painting types. If you would like to know more here is the reference book used: The Spirit of Indian Painting: ------------------------------ Amazon: https://amzn.to/2IRfhOS http://fkrt.it/tJfl32NNNN Download our app : https://www.exambin.com/app Learn online : https://www.exambin.com/learn Indian Paintings The tradition of painting has been carried on in the Indian subcontinent since the ancient times. Standing as a testimony to this fact are the beautiful paintings of Ajanta and Ellora, Buddhist palm leaf manuscripts, Mughal and Kangra schools of miniature Indian paintings, etc. Infact, records have been found that indicate the usage of paintings for decorating the doorways, guest rooms, etc. Some traditional Indian paintings, like those of Ajanta, Bagh and Sittanvasal, depict a love for nature and its forces. Cave Painting Cave paintings of India date back to the prehistoric times. The finest examples of these paintings comprise of the paintings of Ajanta, Ellora, Bagh, Sittanavasal, etc, which reflect an emphasis on naturalism. Ancient cave paintings of India serve as a window to our ancestors, who used to inhabit these caves. Madhubani Painting Madhubani painting originated in a small village, known as Maithili, of the Bihar state of India. Initially, the womenfolk of the village drew the paintings on the walls of their home, as an illustration of their thoughts, hopes and dreams. Miniature Painting Miniatures paintings are beautiful handmade paintings, which are quite colorful but small in size. The highlight of these paintings is the complex and delicate brushwork, which lends them a unique identity. The colors are handmade, from minerals, vegetables, precious stones, indigo, conch shells, pure gold and silver. The most common theme of the Miniature painting of India comprises of the Ragas i.e., the musical codes of Indian classical music. Mughal Painting Mughal painting reflects an exclusive combination of Indian, Persian and Islamic styles. As the name suggests, these paintings evolved as well as developed during the rule of Mughal Emperors in India, between 16th century and 19th century. The Mughal paintings of India revolved around themes, like battles, court scenes, receptions, legendary stories, hunting scenes, wildlife, portraits, etc. The Victoria and Albert Museums of London house a large and impressive collection of Mughal paintings. Mysore Painting Mysore Painting is a form of classical South Indian painting, which evolved in the Mysore city of Karnataka. During that time, Mysore was under the reign of the Wodeyars and it was under their patronage that this school of painting reached its zenith. Quite similar to the Tanjore Paintings, Mysore Paintings of India make use of thinner gold leaves and require much more hard work. The most popular themes of these paintings include Hindu Gods and Goddesses and scenes from Hindu mythology. The grace, beauty and complexity of Indian Mysore Paintings leave the onlookers mesmerized. Pahari Painting Pahari painting is the name given to Rajput paintings, made in the in the Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir states of India. These painting developed as well as flourished during the period of 17th to 19th century. Indian Pahadi paintings have been done mostly in miniature forms. Rajput Painting Rajput painting originated in the royal states of Rajasthan, somewhere around the late 16th and early 17th century. The Mughals ruled almost all the princely states of Rajasthan at that time and because of this; most of the schools of Rajput Painting in India reflect strong Mughal influence. Each of the Rajput kingdoms evolved a distinctive style. However, similarities and common features can still be found in the paintings of different territories. Tanjore Painting Tanjore Painting is one of the most popular forms of classical South Indian painting. It is the native art form of Thanjavur (also known as Tanjore) city of Tamil Nadu. The dense composition, surface richness and vibrant colors of Indian Thanjavur Paintings distinguish them from the other types of paintings. Then, there are additions of semi-precious stones, pearls and glass pieces that further add to their appeal. The relief work gives them a three dimensional effect. Tanjore Painting of India originated during the 16th century, under the reign of the Cholas. Giorgio de Chirico: A collection of 166 paintings (HD)

16:00
Giorgio de Chirico: A collection of 166 paintings (HD) Description: "Giorgio de Chirico was an Italian artist who co-founded the genre of ‘metaphysical painting’ which had a profound influence on the Surrealists. Born in Rome, he developed a keen interest in art in childhood and was also moved by philosophical writings. As a young artist, he was enthused by the European Symbolist artists and their use of dream-like imagery. His earliest signature works combined a Symbolist sensibility with his love of the classical antiquities of ancient cities and his philosophical musings on the true nature of reality. He held many exhibitions of his work around the world and was much praised for his brilliant and intricate interpretations of everyday life which were expressed vividly through his paintings. He introduced the world to the style of metaphysical painting and his enigmatic scenes of empty cities, menacing statues, mysterious shadows and strange combinations of everyday objects inspired the artists of the Surrealist movement in the 1910s. However, the element of mystery in his paintings diminished after 1919, when he eventually began painting in a more realistic and academic style. Although his later works failed to recapture the unsettling originality of his early paintings, he is still recognized and praised for his influence on both, the Surrealists and THE later generation of artists. His contribution to modern art of the 20th-century is invaluable." --- SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com/c/LearnFromMasters?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LearnFromMasters/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+LearnFromMasters Contact: [email protected] --- Thanks for all support!

What is BAROQUE PAINTING? What does BAROQUE PAINTING mean? BAROQUE PAINTING meaning & explanation

What is BAROQUE PAINTING? What does BAROQUE PAINTING mean? BAROQUE PAINTING meaning - BAROQUE PAINTING definition - BAROQUE PAINTING explanation. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Baroque painting is the painting associated with the Baroque cultural movement. The movement is often identified with Absolutism, the Counter Reformation and Catholic Revival, but the existence of important Baroque art and architecture in non-absolutist and Protestant states throughout Western Europe underscores its widespread popularity. Baroque painting encompasses a great range of styles, as most important and major painting during the period beginning around 1600 and continuing throughout the 17th century, and into the early 18th century is identified today as Baroque painting. In its most typical manifestations, Baroque art is characterized by great drama, rich, deep colour, and intense light and dark shadows, but the classicism of French Baroque painters like Poussin and Dutch genre painters such as Vermeer are also covered by the term, at least in English. As opposed to Renaissance art, which usually showed the moment before an event took place, Baroque artists chose the most dramatic point, the moment when the action was occurring: Michelangelo, working in the High Renaissance, shows his David composed and still before he battles Goliath; Bernini's Baroque David is caught in the act of hurling the stone at the giant. Baroque art was meant to evoke emotion and passion instead of the calm rationality that had been prized during the Renaissance. Among the greatest painters of the Baroque period are Velázquez, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin, and Vermeer. Caravaggio is an heir of the humanist painting of the High Renaissance. His realistic approach to the human figure, painted directly from life and dramatically spotlit against a dark background, shocked his contemporaries and opened a new chapter in the history of painting. Baroque painting often dramatizes scenes using chiaroscuro light effects; this can be seen in works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Le Nain and La Tour. The Flemish painter Anthony van Dyck developed a graceful but imposing portrait style that was very influential, especially in England. The prosperity of 17th century Holland led to an enormous production of art by large numbers of painters who were mostly highly specialized and painted only genre scenes, landscapes, Still-lifes, portraits or History paintings. Technical standards were very high, and Dutch Golden Age painting established a new repertoire of subjects that was very influential until the arrival of Modernism. The Council of Trent (1545–63), in which the Roman Catholic Church answered many questions of internal reform raised by both Protestants and by those who had remained inside the Catholic Church, addressed the representational arts in a short and somewhat oblique passage in its decrees. This was subsequently interpreted and expounded by a number of clerical authors like Molanus, who demanded that paintings and sculptures in church contexts should depict their subjects clearly and powerfully, and with decorum, without the stylistic airs of Mannerism. This return toward a populist conception of the function of ecclesiastical art is seen by many art historians as driving the innovations of Caravaggio and the Carracci brothers, all of whom were working (and competing for commissions) in Rome around 1600, although unlike the Carracci, Caravaggio persistently was criticised for lack of decorum in his work. However, although religious painting, history painting, allegories, and portraits were still considered the most noble subjects, landscape, still life, and genre scenes were also becoming more common in Catholic countries, and were the main genres in Protestant ones.....

Film Noir Painting Narrative

The paintings create a story line that touches on themes associated with the film noir genre. Betrayal, greed, crime, romance, counterbalancing injustice, empowerment and human frailty are some examples. The images invite the viewer to interpret and fill in the many possible missing gaps. The more you watch the sequence of images the more possibilities you will imagine. To view art go to: http://www.indigoart.com.au/ and https://www.saatchiart.com/sergioianniello
Oil Painting Tutorial: A Cloudy Sky

07:07
This video outlines the steps for creating a simple cloudy sky using the "wet-on-wet" oil painting style that was popularized by Bob Ross and The Joy of Painting. I take a completely dry canvas board, mix and apply a thin coat of a "liquid white" medium, add a simple blue background, and then drop in a few clouds. I have never done a tutorial before, and this was recorded in a single take on a particularly uneventful Saturday afternoon. I'm also not taking it very seriously. Be nice. Ford Smith paintings enter a new dimension...

03:07
Introducing the Ford Smith IN CONCERT series... sculpted glass paintings by Ford Smith and Eddie Freeland. Ford Smith Fine Art introduces a groundbreaking series of collaborative original paintings that usher in a new art genre that defies traditional categories and is positioned to take the art world by storm. World-renowned artist, Ford Smith, and sculptor/painter phenom, Eddie Freeland, merge their individual talents to take Ford Smith's radiantly distinctive paintings to the 3rd dimension. Watch Eddie as he seems to enter Ford's mind, study every paint stroke, follow his creative path and then consciously--and unconsciously--sculpt thousands of glass pieces with resin then paint atop them to abstract and express Ford's foundation painting to breathtaking effect... it's a new art genre.

Adolphe William Bouguereau Oil Paintings | Fine Art Reproduction

10:02
William-Adolphe Bouguereau (November 30, 1825 August 19, 1905) was a French academic painter. Bouguereau was a staunch traditionalist whose realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of Classical subjects with a heavy emphasis on the female human body. Although he created an idealized world, his almost photo-realistic style was popular with rich art patrons. He was very famous in his time but today his subject matter and technique receive relatively little attention compared to the popularity of the Impressionists. to see more Adolphe William Bouguereau, please visit:http://www.angeloilpainting.com

Ulrich de Balbian (artist, philosopher, research and theoretical scientist, theologian) has been painting for 50 years. he intentionally chooses the genre of painting rather than others such as installations or the New Genres. He has developed the NEW STYLES - see www.newstylesgallery.info/ for more details. He works in the Western tradition of painting and sees his work as maintaining, developing and extending the intersubjective code of this discourse or cultural practice. The human mind deals with smaller paintings as if they are objects to be looked AT , in the way we look at other things such as a table, chair, etc, while larger works are experienced as if the person participates in them and form part of them. As you now know this tendency of the human mind, please experience and participate in these paintings as if you are part of them and not merely an objective and uninvolved onlooker looking for a 'nice' picture that does not have to involve and perhaps even disturb you and modify your thinking about visual art and painting - what it is meant to be and how it is meant to be and appear.

Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps (1803-1860) A collection of paintings 4K Ultra HD Silent Slideshow

20:08
Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps (1803-1860) A collection of paintings 4K Ultra HD Silent Slideshow a French painter noted for his Orientalist works. Decamps' style was characteristically and intensely French. It was marked by vivid dramatic conception, bold and even rough brushstrokes, and startling contrasts of color and of light and shade. His subjects embraced an unusually wide range. He availed himself of his travels in the East in dealing with scenes from Scripture history, which he was probably the first of European painters to represent with their true and natural local background. Of this class were his Joseph sold by his Brethren, Moses taken from the Nile, and his scenes from the life of Samson, nine vigorous sketches in charcoal and white. Perhaps the most impressive of his historical pictures is Defeat of the Cimbri, representing the conflict between a horde of barbarians and a disciplined army. Decamps produced a number of genre pictures, chiefly scenes from French and Turkish domestic life, the most marked feature of which is humour. The same characteristic attaches to many of his numerous animal paintings; Decamps was especially fond of painting monkeys. His well-known painting The Monkey Connoisseurs satirizes the jury of the French Academy of Painting, which had rejected several of his earlier works on account of their divergence from any known standard. His paintings and drawings were first made familiar to the English public through the lithographs of Eugene le Rouit. Animated Musical Painting Clock

03:46
This rare 19th century musical automaton painting clock features animations of a revolving windmill and water wheel, a train moving across a trestle, a horse pulling a cart and people crossing a bridge—while a four-tune music box plays and an eight-day clock strikes the hours on a gong from the clock tower—all against the backdrop of an oil painting of a European village incorporating many three-dimensional elements. The 6" cylinder musical movement displays the original tune sheet. The overall dimensions with frame (not shown in the video) are 28" high by 38" wide.
