Creative Writing - 4 Easy Steps An Essay Writer Must Know!
Creative Writing -http://www.singlishtoenglish.com/creative-writing/ - How to write with flair There are many different types of writing out there. For the purpose of this video, we will look at creative writing and the simple steps to take in writing a creative essay. What is creative writing? It is a broad statement that covers every form of narrative writing from poetry to feature articles in newspapers to novels - the list is endless. Loosely put, it excludes anything academic and technical. Let's look at how to write a creative essay: First step: Choose your subject. When choosing a subject, pick something you and others may find interesting. It may not have to be a subject that you know well, though that helps! If the subject is something you find interesting, but do not know much about, research it! That will be Step 2: All good writers research the background to their essay/story/novel, etc. If need be, talk to relevant authorities. Ask questions and learn more about the topic. Take some time and mull over your topic. Look at it from different perspectives. Write down all thoughts that occur to you on the subject, relevant or random, it does not matter. You can sift through it later and decide on what you want to use. You never know. You might end up with enough material for more than one essay. Onto the next step, Step 3, where you put down an outline of how, what, when, where and who your essay is all about. This will guide and keep you on the straight and narrow of the story without taking you down a meandering path. Then its time to flesh out these how, what, when, where and who questions as that will build the foundation of the story. Once you have the first 3 steps done, you can proceed to Step 4, writing the story. Using the outline you have set out, start with the introduction. In the introduction, the setting for the creative essay is established. Here is where you establish the place, time and scenery for the main subject of the essay. Next we come to the body of the essay. The plot of the essay is developed in the body. It can be made up of just one paragraph, in the case of a short story, or several paragraphs, when the story is longer. Each paragraph is to showcase one main idea. The movement from one paragraph to another has to be smooth and fluid without choppiness. This is where transitions come in useful. Briefly, transitions are words like 'yet', 'and', 'but' and so on. They allow the essay to flow seamlessly from one idea to another. They are usually used in the middle of a sentence. But, they can be used in the beginning to emphasise a point. I just did that. I used 'but' in the beginning of a sentence when it is usually used in the middle. This lays emphasis on the content of the sentence following the 'but' and shows the continuity of the thought process from the previous sentence. Just be careful not to over use transitions in your essay. Other transitions which we use all the time are words like 'however','also' and 'therefore'. There are many more transition words and I will get into grammar transitions more fully in another video. Finally, (there's a transition for you!) we come to the conclusion of the creative essay. The conclusion is where the whole plot comes together and is tidied up ...or not. That depends on you, the author, on how you want the essay to end. It can be neat and tidy, with a 'happily ever after' like fairy-tale ending or in can be a cliffhanger, where the ending is left shrouded in suspense. The ending or conclusion of your essay is important, so don't rush it or end it abruptly. It must leave a strong enough impact that the story remains in the reader's mind after he finishes reading it. Now that your creative essay is done, check it thoroughly for spelling and grammatical errors. Change whatever does not read or flow right. Think about the effect the essay will have on the reader. Ask someone else to proofread it for you. Very often we miss errors in our own writing that others will pick up. Once your essay is checked, proofread, corrected and checked again, it is done! I get to hang out with all my friends My friends are the friendliest friends Can't think of a better way to spend my time Your brain is flawed and all your friends will die Nevermind! I’m alive in the greatest nation! So proud of- the exploitation of natives This graceful bird means freedom for all Tell that to the slaves and bald eagles aren't bald I can live in the moment, milk every second at any time you could get clinical depression But I'll just be happy, no matter what’s in store it’s quite genetic and we have no cure uhh- at least (CHORUS ) We are young not for long Life is fun It only goes downhill We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it or you'll regret it We are young For now Life is fun for some people We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it Good luck Woo! I got a brand new job today! Doin stuff that'll help the economy I'll save money and buy things at the store Banks can crash and capitalism is flawed And it’s all because of my hard work And the thousand advantages you lucked into at birth I put a lotta effort in my resume! Good thing you don't have a black person’s name I'm proud to be a functioning member of society Finally, I can be the citizen I dream to be part of the community, contribute with my tax What could possibly stop me? The shrinking middle class I’ve at least got a nice stable job Until it’s outsourced to china or replaced by a robot OH GOD- Well then I could relax a bit You'll be empty with nothing to distract from it But man I'm a passionate graduate I can be different and I have a career paths to pick from I could be a rapper or an animator if I'm lucky Neither of those will make you happy, trust me I'm able to choose what I pursue You're a slave to people born richer than you Then screw it, I'll keep going in then I'll party on the weekend and sing Thanks to autotune (CHORUS ) Life is a wonder You’ll never know the answer Nature is a miracle Natural disasters It’s good to be alive You could wake up with cancer But I'm healthy Healthy people still get cancer I love this show It’s the last episode The sun is shining It’s going to explode Every species is beautiful and unique though Children have malaria thanks to mosquitoes I met a cute girl with a ponytail Statistically that relationship is going to fail I have a wonderful family, it’s like no other You're not special and one day you'll bury your mother No matter what I can find a home! We. Will. All. Die. Alone. There’s amazing potential in every human on earth There’s no escaping the heat death of the universe I don't have to live life based on negative parts No matter how bad they are, they're just thoughts Yeah that’s fair wait really? yeah that seems reasonable wait-wait-wait-wait but you were just telling me whatever man, I dunno, live your life how you want, I'm not forcing you to do anything, I'm just saying. Oh...Well in that case... (CHORUS )

Fun Letter Formation Activities - Learn to Write Letters
Are you searching for a fun activity to teach your kids how to write the English alphabet letters? We have an idea here that you could try with your kids and it is all about writing the English alphabet letters with using paint. There is a technique used with writing every single letter and it is about the way the letter should be traced in order to make it easier for the kid to remember how it should be written and at the same time manage to bring all the trials for writing the same letter in the same way. In this video the focus is on writing down the letter 'd', the small and not the capital. The fun activity is all about using some paint and a plastic bag that could be sealed. The child will place some of this paint into the bag and spread it while the bag is sealed to make sure that the paint doesn't go outside. The next step is about learning to write the letter which will happen through using the backside of a pen or even with the finger on that paint. Under the plastic bag that has the paint inside, it is better to place a white paper in order to let the letter shine when the kids write it down. Parents could also prepare the same plastic bag for themselves to show the kids how to write the letter or what they are supposed to do without using their plastic bag and keep clearing out the letter. In order to write down letter 'd' the parent should teach the child that it starts as if writing the letter 'c' and then adding a straight line next to it, so it is doing a round up and then down again. Usually, at the beginning of the educational journey, kids are taught to trace the letters with their magic finger in the air before they go to the part of writing it on a piece of paper or even learning this paint method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=339D5-WijRk). This is one of the fun letter formation activities for kids because they will enjoy using the paint to create their own plastic bag on which they are going to write down letters and words, and at the same time they will also enjoy the idea of writing down the letters with their fingers or rounded back pens to reveal the white paper placed under and bring out the letter written down. There are some rules followed when it comes to teaching the kids how to write down the English alphabet letters and using the magic finger to trace down the letters in the air is one of them. Always teach your child to write down the letters in a specific way with linking the letters to real shapes in order to manage handling it all and bring down the same letters all the time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVL9oskIn10). Using Lego to write down the letters is also one of the different methods and activities that the kids could learn through (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmmNwX1bPH4) and play doh is also another activity or game that kids could depend on to learn letters and how to write them down correctly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7GsJrDdCVU). Try to get a little bit more creative when you are bringing up some new ways and activities to teach the kid through. Paint is sometimes used in its ordinary ways which is writing a letter down with a brush, but there is also this creative technique related to the method we have brought in this video which is about filling a plastic bag with the paint and writing on it with the finger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3Vja3_Rvjs). Along with learning the English alphabet letters comes the process of teaching kids more about phonetics and the sounds that the different letters produce when they come within words (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UGSFKYDRyc). This is important because when kids are taught the letters, they spell them with their names and not with the way they should sound among other letters, so always teach your child more about the sound of the letter when you are teaching them how to write them down correctly. This is one of the fun letter formation activities that are used to teach kids how to write down the letters correctly. Paint is one of the things kids love to use and play with, so why not make use of it when it comes to learning. Fun writing warm-up game for kids - "Yes, And..." (Simon Mole Poet)
Download a free workshop plan that uses my videos alongside other games and activities here: http://www.simonmole.com/free-poetry-resources/ "yes, and..." is a fun warm up game to play with any age, ideally near the beginning of a lesson. The game works well with all ability levels, but is particularly helpful for getting less confident or reluctant writers started. The activity will help children say yes to their own ideas, and support them to keep their critical inner voice quiet - but also remind them that the very same voice will be useful later on when editing. I recommend watching the video with a whole class, and then getting them to play the game independently in groups of 3 or 4 - but I have also had success just leaving smaller groups of kids to work through it independently, giving each group a screen of their own. If you’ve got any feedback or questions about the channel, or are interested in booking me for a school performance or workshop then the best way to get in touch is via email: [email protected] But I’m also on social media if that’s easier: https://www.facebook.com/simonmolepoet/ @si_mole
Writing Fun | Ep. 176 : Evil with H.G. Tudor
I am H G Tudor. I am a narcissistic sociopath (some state psychopath – this remains a matter of debate by the profession concerning the current application of sociopath or psychopath). By my terminology I am a Greater Elite Narcissist. You will learn here what that means along with all about the other types of narcissists and empaths too. I convey this is an effective manner based on my perspective. I know what I am and I know the best way to communicate this to you. I am a very effective communicator. I write extensively about what this means and what I am. I have practised this dark art for many years, I have honed and crafted my abilities. I am aware of what I am and I am engaged in understanding why I am this way and why I act as I do. I am sharing these ongoing revelations. I know my kind in considerable detail. I have several family members who are narcissists and have engaged with numerous in my life. I know the way my kind think, why we act as we do, say what we say and so much more. I understand why we target our victims and how we go about it. I comprehend why our victims think and act as they do. I have had many, watched many and listened to many. This allows me to build a formidable body of knowledge about not only my kind, but the people we engage with. I am currently engaged in treatment which has been forced upon me. As part of this treatment and because I enjoy writing, I have been encouraged to share my knowledge. This is to engender a greater awareness of what I am on my part and also to allow the world an unrivalled view of the mind and actions of a narcissistic sociopath. I do this because I like to write. I like to interact with people. I want to be the number one source for the reality of how my kind think and behave. I also find the weaponising of empaths and having them go into battle with my kind entirely in accordance with my worldview. I do not do this for fuel. I do gain some fuel from the comments but since those who comment are tertiary sources (see the book Fuel for more) it is not significant. I gain far more fuel in my interactions in my private life. I am direct. I do not speak in scientific terms. I welcome enquiring minds and those who want answers. I will give them to you. You will not gain understanding like this from anywhere else. I encourage you to read my articles and extensive collection of books which can be found on Amazon. I encourage you to contribute, ask questions and offer your own views. I read everything that is submitted to me and answer all questions, thus if your post does not appear straight away, please understand that it is in moderation and is either receiving or awaiting my attention. The number of comments and hits are testament to the need for my knowledge and the huge usefulness many people have found from it. You will too. How To Make Teaching Students To Write More Fun - Fortuigence
Teaching Students To Write http://www.fortuigence.com If your child does not enjoy writing, here are three tips to help... 1. Give the child that dislikes writing as much choice in the topics they write about as possible. If they enjoy a particular topic, get excited by it or if they want to learn more about a topic, they will be more willing to write about it. 2. When it comes time to start writing, give them the opportunity to free-write. Free-writing is where they get to write without worrying about grammar, spelling or punctuation. They should just write their thoughts as they come. 3. When it comes time to edit the writing, peer editing works great. Students do very well when they trade papers with other students or siblings. Writing unit tests for personal projects? - FunFunFunction #29
💖 Support the show by becoming a Patreon https://www.patreon.com/funfunfunction Write your goddamn tests, always. I'm actually more disciplined with unit tests for personal projects, because I generally care a lot about them, and since I'm writing them from scratch I have the luxury that I can structure them for testability. I write tests because code without tests is buggy, bad code. If I'm not writing tests, I'm doing a bad job. Over the years, I've become more and more convinced that unit tests holds the same value as version control - it's just stupid not to do. Unit tests starts playing off very fast into a project. If you're writing a teeny tiny script with only one execution path, that will only live for a week, then unit tests are overkill, but beyond that, you'll save time. If you intend to spend a few weeks on something, tests will pay off (if you're a somewhat experienced unit tester) You just have no idea how many things that can break until you start writing tests for your code. It's remarkable. I'm currently looking at a relatively small piece of code that does scroll management that I've written at Spotify. It's slightly above 250 lines of code, and it has 137 tests, and I'm pretty lazy with adding tests - only the bare minimum here, no triangulation or anything. If you're only doing manual testing, you're probably regression testing 3-4 cases every time you do a change. A ridiculously disciplined person might do 10. The fact is, if you're writing code without a test suite checking it, you're going to break a lot of things that worked at first along the way. Unit testing sometimes feels frustrating because it makes you slower when writing new code, but it will still make you much more productive overall. The reason is that after the initial few weeks of development, the vast majority of the time you spend in a project is going to be spent making changes in existing code, and that can be done easily 10 times faster when you have an automated test suite helping you.

Creative Writing Prompt: Invent a School for Ninjas
Imagine you just got invited to an elite school for ninjas! Here's a short illustrated video that allows your students to answer this question. Enjoy what you're seeing? Please subscribe to the channel: http://bit.ly/spencervideos Here's my latest video writing idea. Here's the transcript: You go to check the mail one day when an envelope pops out and folds itself into a ninja. It bounces around before landing on your shoulder, revealing an invitation to an elite school for ninjas. Imagine that school. What do the students wear? Is there a special uniform? Are the clothes be dark or light? What subjects does it have? What skills will you learn? And what will your teachers be like? What types of school supplies will you use? What special ninja gadgets will you get to try out? What is the building be like? Is it big or small? Is it located in the mountains? By an ocean? In the middle of a city? Or maybe underground? What cool ninja features does it offer? What activities does the school offer? What kinds of ninja sports will you play? What are the rules at this school? How is it different from your own school? Tell this story in the form of a diary entry . . . take that back. Ninjas keep journals, not diaries. Okay, tell this story in the form of a journal entry as a kid who just arrived to a ninja school.
