Felix the Cat carries around a magic bag that serves to get him out of trouble. The Professor is fascinated by this object and attempts to steal it. 🐱Meet the Characters🐱 Felix the Cat The main character and star of the show. He has many adventures with his secret bag of tricks that often helps in dangerous situations. Two different patterns were used for the magic bag, one is the earlier version pattern that is a dot and cross pattern. The latter series bag was a hounds tooth pattern that replaced the dot cross. All the episodes having the houndstooth pattern are missing from the market place. No matter what the situation he almost always ends up laughing. A few of the episodes end with Felix on the losing end without the laughter, or his other signature line:, "Righty-o!" The Professor He is Felix's archenemy or foil and in most appearances is trying to seize the Magic Bag of Felix. He has a very amusing speech impediment and is quite eccentric. He is depicted as a mad scientist, very intelligent, yet very obsessed. He attempts many tricks such as the use of his inventions and many disguises to get Felix's magic bag, but always winds up failing in the end. In some episodes where his nephew Poindexter is involved, the Professor becomes a reluctant ally of Felix, particularly when they battle the Master Cylinder. In some of the episodes, when the professor gives up on his episodic schemes, he intones with the words: "Oh, What's the use!!!!!" Poindexter He is the nerdy young nephew of the Professor. He is depicted as a stereotypical scientist; he is very intelligent and always wears thick coke-bottle glasses, a lab coat, and a mortarboard. A button on the chest of his lab coat acts as a control for whatever device the plot calls for. Despite the Professor being his uncle, he is also one of Felix's best friends. Whenever he talks to Felix, he refers to him as "Mr. Felix". Rock Bottom The Professor's bumbling sidekick (a bulldog who walks and dresses like a human being) who tries to help the Professor steal Felix's Magic Bag. Rock Bottom's full name is Rock Bottom Age. He occasionally works for Master Cylinder. Like the Professor, in some of the episodes, when Rock Bottom's schemes fail, he intones with the words: "Oh, What's the use!!!!!" Master Cylinder An evil, cylindrical robot who first appeared in the 1960 cartoon "Master Cylinder-King of the Moon." He is always trying to kidnap Poindexter so that he can use his intellect to build weapons and equipment. It is revealed that he was once a pupil of the Professor at an academy until an explosion destroyed his original body. Martin the Martian The good Martian who always helps Felix and his friends whenever they are in a space jam. General Clang The evil general in space who also wants the rocket formula in order to destroy the Earth, Vavoom A small, unassuming and friendly Inuit whose only vocalization is a (literally) earth-shattering shout of his own name "VAVOOM!" (but who is powerless if his mouth was taped shut). He first appeared in Felix and Vavoom.

Felix the Cat cartoon, 1920's - Film 17908

02:37
Felix the Cat cartoon. Felix hands a wad of money to his owner who counts it and puts it behind his back. Felix does a little jig. Felix is told he's not going to Hollywood. Man leaves room and Felix scratches his head. He takes the man's cane from umbrella stand and jumps in the vase, curling his tail to look like a walking stick. Felix is adaptable. Man enters and picks up "cane", but Felix "Meow"s in pain. Ma tries to jump on Felix but lands on his head. He is dazed - stars revolve around his head as he sees stars. Felix shakes his fist at the man in anger, sees the man's travelling bag on the floor, throws it away and replaces it. Man picks "bag" up and walks of, Felix waves happily, whilst disguised as the bag. California. Los Angeles Railroad Station. Man aims to pick up his bag, but the "handle" (Felix' tail) moves about a lot. Felix re-emerges and walks off. Man surprised, his hat becomes a question mark. Felix runs towards a "Static Studio" in the Hollywood Studios and walks in cat like. Outside the dressing rooms he stands upright (as is usual). He looks through the keyhole of a door with a star on it - a star's dressing room. We see Theda Bara powdering her face. A close up of the excited Felix - "Oh Boy!" Ben Turpin taps on Felix' shoulder, points at his cross eyes and says "That's how I got like this". Close up of Felix doing the same. Felix rubs his eyes and walks off. A man with a cigar and reading a newspaper is sitting in a director's chair. He indicates another man with a job description on his desk "The Boss". This is Will Hays, film censor. Felix acts for the man - he registers sorrow. Close up of crying Felix. Close up of "Joy" - a laughing felix in close up. Felix detaches his tail to act as a cane and does a Charlie Chaplin impression complete with funny walk. In doing this he bumps into Chaplin himself who accuses Felix of stealing his stuff. [ Quite important this - the two biggest stars of the age are on the screen together ]. Chaplin scares Felix away.

"Felix the Cat Cartoon Toolbox" gambits

04:06
Here’s a rather obscure CD-ROM game from 1995 I haven’t shared here yet: “Felix the Cat’s Cartoon Toolbox,” from Big Top. Make goofy little animated shorts with the cast of the 1958-1961 “Felix the Cat” animated series. The voices are actual dialogue clips from the show (by Jack Mercer), and for some reason the game’s sound library uses a ton of familiar Hanna-Barbera sound effects (which the show didn’t use.) The first batch of cartoons are samples included with the program, and then I show a couple I whipped up. If anything about this game seems familiar, it’s because its’ engine was reused a year later for the more well-known “The Simpsons Cartoon Studio.”

Felix the CAT - Two Lip Time - SILENT Cartoon 1927

08:11
Felix The Cat - This cartoon is no ordinary cat, he was the mascot of Charles Lindbergh's flight and was the first image broad-casted by the television network in 1928. Felix the Cat is a funny-animal cartoon character created in the silent film era. The anthropomorphic black cat with his black body, white eyes, and giant grin, coupled with the surrealism of the situations in which his cartoons place him, combine to make Felix one of the most recognized cartoon characters in film history. Felix was the first character from animation to attain a level of popularity sufficient to draw movie audiences. Felix's origins remain disputed. Australian cartoonist/film entrepreneur Pat Sullivan, owner of the Felix character, claimed during his lifetime to be its creator. American animator Otto Messmer, Sullivan's lead animator, has also been credited as such. By the late 1920s, with the arrival of sound cartoons, Felix's success was fading. The new Disney shorts of Mickey Mouse made the silent offerings of Sullivan and Messmer, who were then unwilling to move to sound production, seem outdated. In 1929, Sullivan decided to make the transition and began distributing Felix sound cartoons through Copley Pictures. The sound Felix shorts proved to be a failure and the operation ended in 1932. Felix saw a brief three-cartoon resurrection in 1936 by the Van Beuren Studios. In 2004, Felix was voted among the 100 Greatest Cartoons in a poll conducted by the British television channel Channel 4, ranking at #89. In the same year, Felix was named #36 in Animal Planet's 50 Greatest Movie Animals. In 2002, Felix was voted in TV Guide's 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time, ranking #28.

Felix the Cat cartoon w/really scary ass dramatic creepypasta music

06:17
I was trying to find a good public domain music score for this silent cartoon, so I went to archive.org and found a track called "creepypasta music". I don't know if anyone owns the music track or what, since people can lie and post things on archive.org that aren't really public domain. The other soundtrack for this cartoon is an excruciatingly cheesy organ score by Bosko Video. Digital remastering for this cartoon was done by myself. EDIT: Ok, so Youtube recognized this song and it's called "Grisly Reminder - Midnight Syndicate". It's a cool song! I hope that you liked it too. New digitally remastered cartoons are uploaded frequently. Feline Follies (1919) "1st Felix the Cat cartoon"

04:19
[Published on November 9, 1919.] Music by The Louisiana Five "A Good Man is Hard to Find" (1918.) Felix the Cat was animation's first superstar, far eclipsing Farmer Alfalfa, Bobby Bumps, Col. Heeza Liar and other ongoing cartoon characters of earlier years. From the moment Felix first appeared, in Feline Follies (November 9, 1919), he was a hit — even tho he hadn't yet been given his name. In that film and his second, Musical Mews, he was called "Master Tom". It was only in the third, Adventures of Felix (1919) that he received his permanent name — and his long, long career was off. According to the credits, Pat Sullivan, owner of the studio, was the guiding genius behind Felix — but in reality, the cartoons were the work of a young animator named Otto Messmer, who produced the entire four-minute debut all by himself, working at home on a freelance basis. Felix's success was a direct result of Messmer's great ability to create sight gags, and to express a character's personality through his own unique way of moving. Dozens of silent Felix cartoons were made, with increasing sophistication as the 1920s wore on. When the talkies came in, Felix was quickly eclipsed by Disney's Mickey Mouse, who had made an early and successful transition to sound. The last silent Felix cartoon was the appropriately-titled The Last Life (1928). The Sullivan Studio, which never did embrace the new technology, went into decline. When Sullivan died, in 1933, it closed its doors. Messmer left animation to concentrate on comic strips about Felix, which he had started in 1923 (and which lasted until 1966). Felix made a brief return to animation in 1936, when the Van Beuren Studio (Tom & Jerry (no, not that Tom & Jerry)) bought rights to the character. But the charm of the Messmer years was not recaptured, and the series ended after only three cartoons. In 1960, Felix was revived once more, this time on TV, by producer Joe Oriolo. Oriolo, whose credits include Casper the Friendly Ghost and The Mighty Hercules, had worked as Messmer's assistant during the 1950s, and had taken over the Felix newspaper strip from him in 1954. It was this series that introduced Felix's now-famous "bag of tricks" — as well as the dastardly Professor, who coveted it. Voice actor Jack Mercer, whose best-known role was Popeye the Sailor, provided most of the voices in this series. Meanwhile, Messmer's comics — first in the form of a newspaper strip distributed by King Features Syndicate and later, in 1943, as a regularly-published comic book — displayed his visual imagination and solid design sense to great effect, which is why the Messmer-drawn issues are highly prized by modern collectors. The comic book, which was published first by Dell Comics, then Toby Press, and finally Harvey Comics, ended in 1961. Dell started a new series a year later, but it lasted only 12 issues. Gladstone Comics published a thick album in 1991, reprinting Messmer's comic book art; and Fantagraphics did another album in '96, this one reprinting his newspaper comics from the 1920s. From 1991-93, Harvey Comics reprinted some of Messmer's stories in comic book form, but with very poor printing. Later in the '90s, the Oriolo family put out new, non-reprinted ones, with better production values. In recent years, Felix has turned up occasionally in a new cartoon or comic strip — sometimes, unexpectedly enough, as a co-star with Betty Boop. The most recent was a Saturday morning animated series, which ran from 1995-97. Unlike his contemporaries, animation's first break-out star has a lot of life still in him.

Originally FELIX TURNS THE TIDE, here is an Astra TV print paired up with some lovely Winston Sharples cartoon music composed during Van Beuren's Rainbow Parade years. For those of you who have seen Fred Ladd's 1970s colorizations, this is one of the sources, hence "The Inventor" also being the title of the redrawn version of this cartoon.

Mouse thinks up an answer - he'll get his brothers to help. He calls them and three mice appear. The five of them run along. Willie playing his piano. He doesn't seem to be enjoying it and punches the piano stool. He starts as soon as a shouted "Willie" brings him back to reality. Felix tiptoes to the window and calls quietly. He whispers a plan to Willie. Felix looks round the corner to Willie's mother who is still washing. He beckons the mice to jump through the open window. Willie climbs out. Willie and Felix listen to music and smile. They jump into the air happily. They run off. Willie's mother now enjoys the music. The four mice run up and down the piano keys make musical notes appear. Mother believes "that boy is improving". Mother dances along in strange style, perhaps Russian dancing. She wiggles her backside. A nightdress and pair of pyjamas on the washing line dance along too. They jump off the line and dance together. At the poolside, Felix looks around. He sees a woman sitting and reading a book. He tells Willie not to come out from behind the tree behind which he is hiding. He rushes to a bathing suit shop and steal two pairs of bathing trunks from ouside the shop. Felix puts his swimming trunks on and puts his tail through a hole in them. He hands a pair to Willie behind the tree and beckons to him. They run to the pool, Felix runs up the springboard and dives into the lake. The two in the lake. Willie's mother is still happy and decides to reward him with a piece of pie. She looks through the window and is aghast. The mice are still dancing on the piano keys. She is angry. In the lake Felix's tail leaps and joins him. Felix disappears below the surface of the water. Willies espies something out of shot and is surprised.

Felix the Cat Cartoon set on a farm, 1923 -- Film 2973

06:10
Felix the Cat cartoon. Farmer argues with cockerell or rooster. He rants and clenches his fists. Finger wagging and pointing. Farmer walks about in the exaggerated style of Felix the Cat. The cockerel follows him. Man stops and tells cockerell to stop following. Man paces about on his own. Cockerell enters the hen house and looks round. It is empty. He spies each roost and nest in turn. Outside the cockerell taps its foot and a question mark appears above his head. A hen appears and looks in a hand mirror and powders its face. Rooster tells hen to go and lay an egg, the response being "I should be so oldfashioned". The cockerell is perplexed - "The chickens nowadays are getting too sophisticated". Music notes appear. Rooster follows them to a fence with a hole in it and looks through the hole. On the other side of the fence, Felix the cat is playing a saxophone and keeping time with his foot whilst a couple of hens dance with one another. Other hens look on. Cockerell tells farmer - he does a very good demonstration of the music and the dancing. The cockerell leads the way to the fence as they run along. the farmer puts his eye to the hole, sees Felix and pulls the cat back through the hole by the tail. The angry farmer flings Felix against the fence, and Felix disappears, only to reappear again quickly. Farmer catches Felix and drop kicks him a long way away. Felix lands on a beehive and has a battle with a swarm of bees, trying to puch them. He is stung on the backside, runs away and rubs his backside on the ground next to a lake. He dips his tail and backside in the lake, and looks relieved and happy, but leaps out again with a turtle or terrapin attached to his tail. He runs around in pain, stops and slings the terrapin away. It hits the farmer on the backside and attaches itself. The man is in pain, and he runs around before throwing the turtle a long way away. It hits a scarecrow in the distance who runs off. On the screen laughter appears "HA! HA!". We see Felix laughing. the farmer looks for revenge. He picks up a rock, hides behind a tree, and throws the stone at a goat which is asleep on the ground. The goat chases Felix who reaches a line of washing. Felix removes a towel from the line and uses it as a cape with the goat as a bull and himself as a matodor in a copy of a bullfighting scene. the goat makes a couple of charges and misses. In a long shot, the goat chases Felix around a haystack. Felix jumps on a fence next to the farmer who is reading a newspaper, and Felix targets the backside of the farmer. the goat head butts the man into a well. the goat is dazed - stars spin around his head. Felix laughs. Near drowning noises - "BLUB BLUB" emerge from the well, before the man climbs out. He is amazed to see Felix again playing his saxophone for the hens to dance to. Three dance in a line and pirouette together. The farmer, now really angry says ""I'll fix you for good and all!" He picks up a shotgun and in a nice perspective shot runs along a double fence lined country lane basically towards the camera. He pursues Felix along the lane. Felix stops and pleads for mercy, but is told to "Dig your own grave, then I'll pop you off". Felox digs. Nice close up of man with gunn "Dig, Doggone you, Dig". Felix is shovelling earth from the hole - his potential grave. Close up of farmer giving a cruel and knowing look at the camera. Big question mark appears from the hole, Felix jumps out and tells man not to shoot. Oil starts to gush from the hole. Large gusher escapes from the hole, but for a short while man and cat are baffled. Then they realise, they've struck oil. Farmer picks Felix up and kisses, hugs and dances a little jig with him. Picture disappears to a small dot. "Six months later and oil's well down on the farm". Felix plays saxophone, farmer now in formal wear plays violin or fiddle and hens dance in front of many oil wells and derricks, and with oil barrels around. Close up still of new tycoon wearing top hat, smoking fat cigar and with his arm round Felix' shoulder. They are the best of friends.

FELIX THE CAT - Neptune in Nonsense 1936 - HD Remastered by Classic Cartoons Memories. Felix begins his day by feeding his pair of birds and his two puppies. When he comes to his pet goldfish Annabelle, he finds her very lonely, as she doesn't have a mate. Felix goes fishing to try to find a companion for her. A powerful swordfish pulls him to the bottom of the sea, where he observes a number of undersea sight gags (an octopus traffic cop, fish who eat each other in sequence, an electric eel). Felix finds a suitable fish and tries to make off with it, but the entire undersea community gives chase and has him arrested as a kidnapper. He is taken before King Neptune (who has a topless mermaid dancing for him!) for trial. The king is angry, but when Felix explains himself, Neptune takes him to a fish orphanage, where he can select a fish that really needs a home. Neptune drops them off back at the shore, and everyone lives happily ever after. Angry face. 'I'm in Russia. Now to solve that X-word puzzle.' 'Plot for the Revolution' Anti communist propaganda - 'Did you get the 7-letter word found chiefly in Russia?' - 'All I found in Russia was trouble' - 'Trouble, that's it!'
