All lright guys, let's talk about dating after a divorce. It's either you're divorced, or she's divorced. You kind of have to realize that there's a lot of emotions at stake, there's kind of an extra set of rules on this one that you have to take into account. One is, you need to make sure that either you or the person you're dating is completely over it. If they're not over it, you're getting into a whole mess of waters that you're not really going to be ready for. It's all about making sure that you're ready to get back out there. If you are, that's awesome. Go out there, go have some fun, find the next number two.
It doesn't have to be a certain set period of time. There's a lot of people that are ready to go out and date before they're even divorced. Some people take years after a divorce to go out and get back out there. You need to take a look at yourself, be a little introspective at times, which is sometimes hard. You want to go out there and have a good time but you also don't want to hurt anybody and you don't want to get hurt. It's about taking it slow; don't jump into anything else and understand that either you or the person you're seeing needs to be ready. But otherwise, go for it.
There's plenty of fish in the sea. You know it in your heart if you're ready or not. You have to actually listen to yourself which is probably the most difficult thing. People like to pretend that they're stronger than they are but divorce and the breakup of a marriage is a very emotional thing whether you're the guy or the girl. As long as you have come to terms with that and you can picture yourself and your ex with someone else, I think you're getting on the right path. The biggest thing you can tell from somebody who's going through a divorce is how they handle it and how they handle talking about their ex and the situation and you can really learn a lot from somebody from listening to the way they talk about that.
Just be careful. You don't want to come off as being the bitter, angry ex-wife or ex-husband. You probably should keep it to yourself unless it's funny, then you should share it.
