Importing products is useful when you need to update a lot of products in your store, like editing stock levels.
Using a CSV file, you save the trouble of having to create the products one by one.

With Jumpseller, you can easily import a large list of new products to your store.
Start by going to the Products section on your admin panel. Click on the Export button on the top right corner and download the CSV or Excel file. If you want to, you can also edit a new blank spreadsheet from scratch, but it’s easier to use an exported file.
Once you open the file, you will see different columns. Be careful not put anything in the permalink column as this is generated automatically, otherwise you will receive this error.
Next, you need to input all the data of the new product you would like to add to the store. Once you have done that, save your file and go back to the Products page.
Now click on Import at the top right corner and select the file you previously saved. After you choose your file, you need to check all the columns from where you need to import data.
After you click “Import” you will see a message saying the import is in progress and, once it’s complete, you will also receive a confirmation email.
You can also use this feature to update products in your store, add variants or to edit stock levels. For this, you will need to repeat the process of exporting the CSV/Excel file.
Let’s add a variant as an example. Open the file and insert the variant after the existing product, according to your specifications.
You will need to add a new row to your file, and this time copy the permalink from the product whose variant you wish to add. Then, all you have to do is add the details of the type of variant you need, for example “size” or “color”.
Afterwards save the file and import it one more time to your store. Once the import is complete you will see the new variant has been added to your product.
That’s it for this video. Hope to see you on the next Jumpseller help series!
