20 FOOD FACTS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

06:01
FOOD HACKS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BE HEALTHY Now this vidoe is full of eye-opening hacks and experiments. Do you know how much sugar you should eat a day to stay healthy? If you don't know – this video is made for you. You should also watch to see how to make your food safer and improve the quality of your life. Did you knwo that shops buy apples that are covered with wax? This condition helps them to look better and more attractive on shelves. It's not really good to eat this wax. You can remove it by washing apples in lukewarm water. Put some orange soda into a cup and place a white napkin into it. Stir the napkin and watch how it collects all the coloring. The same happens if you pour soda into a water filer. All the coloring remains inside it. Do you really want to drink soda now? There's a good way to check if your butter is natural. Place a piece into a cup of warm water. Natural butter will melt immediately. If it contains some palm oil, it just won't melt. There's a miraculous way to check if your honey is natural – find it in this video and tell us in the comments if your honey at home is natural. Iodine helps to check the quality of products as well. If you add a few drops of iodine into mayonnaise or cottage cheese and stir it, you'll see if it is harmful or not. Watch this video up to the end to see how much sugar you consume eating some ordinary products we're all used to. I promise that you will be really surprised. Hazard, Risk & Safety - Understanding Risk Assessment, Management and Perception

05:31
(subtitles available in English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Chinese and Russian, German, and a French version is available here: https://youtu.be/wRmfvFYDNr8) Hazard, Risk & Safety Danger, risques et sécurité Gevaar, risico's en veiligheid Peligro, riesgo y seguridad Опасность, риск и безопасность Gefahr, Risiko und Sicherheit We all hear these terms on a daily basis. So and so a chemical, physical or a biological agent poses a risk; This or that product is a hazard or behaving a certain way is unsafe. A lot of the time “hazard” and “risk” are freely used to mean the same thing. However they are not. Hazard is the potential to cause harm. Risk on the other hand is the likelihood of harm in defined circumstances. In a nutshell, hazard and risk are not always aligned as the risk depends on the exposure to the hazard ; similarly, risk, safety and perception of risk are not always aligned; this can make political decisions regarding safety levels difficult to make, in these cases it is especially important to base them on facts rather than on subjective perceptions. http://www.greenfacts.org

How to Identify Eco-Friendly Products

01:50
Watch more How to Help Save the Environment videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/217170-How-to-Identify-EcoFriendly-Products You want to help the environment, but how do you identify "green" products outside a health food store? Here's how. Step 1: Start with packaging Look for products with the least amount of packaging, and try to buy ones that indicate that they are packaged with 'biodegradable' or 'recycled' material. Tip Whenever possible, buy in bulk to cut down further on packaging. Step 2: Know your chemicals Have a basic understanding of what chemicals are bad for the environment. Major no-no’s include nonylphenol ethoxylates (or NPEs, which are detrimental to aquatic life), phosphates, petroleum-based cleaners, and chlorine. Tip If you had trouble with the periodic table in high school, it might be easier just to look for the Green Seal. Step 3: Choose organic Anything labeled 'organic' is going to be eco-friendly. It’s probably going to cost more, too, but that’s the trade-off for a cleaner environment. Step 4: Make the efficient choice When it comes to appliances or windows, look for the Energy Star label, which indicates that the product is energy efficient. Step 5: Be PC with PVC Save some trees by looking for flooring and furniture made from a recycled plastic material called cellular PVC lumber. Step 6: Buy recycled paper goods Look for 'recycled' when you buy tissues, paper towels, gift wrap, greeting cards, and computer paper. Tip Better still, use handkerchiefs and washable cleaning cloths, wrap gifts in old newspapers (cartoon pages are great for kids), and send e-cards. Step 7: Look for bamboo Look for bamboo when buying everything from flooring to furniture to paper to clothing. It’s the fastest-growing plant on the planet, with some varieties growing four feet a day. Did You Know? SUVs emit three times more pollution than regular cars.

How To Start Plastic Recycling Business I प्लास्टिक रीसाइक्लिंग का बिज़नेस कैसे करें

07:08
There is a TON OF PLASTIC!! And this is the biggest reason for its recycling. Plastic Recycling is the process of recycling materials into useful products.Largely all the plastics used in the world are non-biodegradable in nature, hence recycling becomes the only solution globally to reduce the waste and curb pollution reluting from it. We can optimize the lifespan of plastics by recycling it into a new product to be used again and again and so on. Nearly all types of plastics can be recycled, however the extent depends upon their chemical component, economic and logistic factors. For the process of recycling, Plastics are basically categorised into bio-degradable and non-biodegradable plastics and then another important aspect is their marking. As an aid to recycling, the BPF recommends marking of all plastics with an appropriate identification code. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) Part-1/3 (Hindi) HD | Safety Training | Team OHSE

27:40
Hazard: Anything (e.g. condition, situation, practice, behavior) that has the potential to cause harm, including injury, disease, death, environmental, property and equipment damage. A hazard can be a thing or a situation. Hazard Identification: This is the process of examining each work area and work task for the purpose of identifying all the hazards which are “inherent in the job”. Work areas include but are not limited to machine workshops, laboratories, office areas, agricultural and horticultural environments, stores and transport, maintenance and grounds, reprographics, and lecture theatres and teaching spaces. Tasks can include (but may not be limited to) using screen-based equipment, audio and visual equipment, industrial equipment, hazardous substances and/or teaching/dealing with people, driving a vehicle, dealing with emergency situations, construction. This process is about finding what could cause harm in work task or area. Risk: The likelihood, or possibility, that harm (injury, illness, death, damage etc) may occur from exposure to a hazard. Risk Assessment: Is defined as the process of assessing the risks associated with each of the hazards identified so the nature of the risk can be understood. This includes the nature of the harm that may result from the hazard, the severity of that harm and the likelihood of this occurring. Please Be SAFE & ALERT. Trainer's Name - Mohd. HPLC chromatography

16:29
HPLC chromatography lecture - This lecture explains about the HPLC chromatography technique in a nutshell by Suman Bhattacharjee. HPLC is performed to separate organic and biological compounds using solid stationary phase. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a form of column chromatography that pumps a sample mixture or analyte in a solvent which is known as the mobile phase at high pressure through a column with chromatographic packing material known as stationary phase. The sample is carried by a moving carrier gas stream of helium or nitrogen. HPLC has the ability to separate, and identify compounds that are present in any sample that can be dissolved in a liquid in trace concentrations as low as parts per trillion. Because of this versatility, HPLC is used in a variety of industrial and scientific applications, such as pharmaceutical, environmental, forensics, and chemicals. Sample retention time will vary depending on the interaction between the stationary phase, the molecules being analyzed, and the solvent, or solvents used. As the sample passes through the column it interacts between the two phases at different rate, primarily due to different polarities in the analytes. Analytes that have the least amount of interaction with the stationary phase or the most amount of interaction with the mobile phase will exit the column faster. This lecture explains the following things about Hplc chromatography - 1. Hplc chromatography principle 2. Hplc chromatography instrumentation 3. Hplc chromatography types High-Performance Liquid Chromatography - Other HPLC Types Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (uHPLC): Where standard HPLC typically uses column particles with sizes from 3 to 5µm and pressures of around 400 bar, uHPLC use specially designed columns with particles down to 1.7µm in size, at pressures in excess of 1000 bar. The main advantage of an uHPLC is speed. These systems are faster, more sensitive, and rely on smaller volumes of organic solvents than standard HPLC, resulting in the ability to run more samples in less time. Poa Annua and Trivialis | PPLM | (804) 530-2540

14:04
Poa annua and poa trivialis, also known as annual bluegrass and rough bluegrass, are two winter weeds that can cause grief for anyone trying to establish a fescue lawn. Poa annua grass requires annual bluegrass control through the establishment of a thick, healthy lawn. Metal in Pool Water, How to Treat and Eliminate Metal

09:16
WEBSITE: http://www.swimmingpoollearning.com/ Metal ions in your pool water, Copper, iron or manganese to name a few can cause your water to be discolored and cause staining on your pools surface. Besides draining your pool and refilling it there is a process you can follow to remove the metal ions from the water. WHY THIS FAILS TO WORK: NOT ENOUGH Metal Sequestration agent was added. If your pool is 20,000 and the bottle says the initial dose is one bottle for 10,000 add TWO bottles. YOU ARE using a cheap Metal Out product. Use only products with Phosphonic Acid like Super Stain Out or Jack's Magic SOME STAINS are permanent and can only be taken out with an Acid Wash RUST STAINS from a metal object falling into the pool can only be removed trough an Acid Wash or by using a dry acid spot treatment. SOME STAINS are organic in nature and will not come out without an Acid Wash. SOME STAINS are actually very aggressive algae and only a Tri-Chlor Tablet or Tri-chlor granular will get those off POOL MUST run long enough for the sequestration agent and CuLator to work. FILTER must be clean to insure proper circulation. CULATOR is a product that removes metal from the water and is not a stain remover. Metals cause staining so it is a stain preventer and metal eliminator Other related videos: Ascorbic Acid Treatment for Removing Stains in Your Pool: http://youtu.be/9kgyASHiiAw Removing a Rust Stain in your pool with Vitamin C - Ascorbic Acid Treatment: http://youtu.be/iEprPq7YrdU How to Diagnose and Test Swimming Pool Stains: http://youtu.be/1Q15qb5oLMQ Jack's Magic Stain IDentification Kit: Testing a Metal Stain: http://youtu.be/zHqUe6IQANI How To Test and Adjust Calcium Hardness in a Pool: http://youtu.be/qArcEmqMUKo How to Acid Wash Your Pool: http://youtu.be/OMj7KNKCkS8 The first step it to test your water to see if metal ions are present. Most fill water has been purified to eliminate metal ions but there may be enough trace amounts entering your pool, especially if you are filling it or refilling it after it has been drained. Well water is a common source of metal ions. Metal ions can actually cause your water to change color. Copper- Green tint Iron -- Brown Tint Manganese -- a dark color such as Purple Sometimes you will also notice your hair or nails turning green after swimming. If you find that your pool does have metal ions in it the video walks you through the steps. Here are some points to also be aware of: METAL SEQUESTRANT AGENTS When you use a metal sequestrant agent it will lower your chlorine level as the chlorine bonds to the sequestrant. I would start with a 3.0 ppm level and try to keep it near 1.0 -1.5 during the process. Many people think that the Metal Out agent causes algae and it does in a way by lowering the chlorine level. You also want to keep your pH level low -- around 7.2-7.6 for the sequestration agent to be more effective. If you need to add a little chlorine, add more of the agent also. Note that If the stains reappear you will have to start the process over again from square one.It is not a failure of the sequestration or CuLator but a failure to keep the water chemistry in balance. You must also note that the sequestrant agent will NOT remove the metal ions from the pool. All it will do is keep it from activating and staining the pool. Once the sequestrant agent wears off the metal ions will reactivate and cause staining. That is why you will need to use the CuLator product. CULATOR: This is the only product on the market that actually will remove the metal ions from the water. CuLator takes conventional chelating groups and binds them to a novel, unique, insoluble, non-toxic polymer backbone. This allows for the permanent removal of the metal from the water. he chemistry to produce these insoluble chelating polymers was developed over 23 years. Conventional sequestering agents surround the metal ions and slow down the oxidation and precipitation of the metal oxides onto the pool surface. These agents break down over time. Many of these agents are phosphate-based. CuLator® is the world's only true metal eliminator. Developed for the Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund Program, these polymers are the only compounds that are insoluble in water, rapidly bind metal ions, and are non-toxic. You also want to use CuLator when you start up a new pool or after you drain and acid wash your pool. I ran this 20,000 gallon pool 10 hours a day so that it would have good circulation and allow the CuLator to work effectively. For best results leave it in for a month. The bag did have a slight blue tint to it. I could see it very well but I am not sure if it is as visible in the video. The Danger of Counterfeit Drugs (Second of Two Parts)

04:01
This is the VOA Special English Development Report, from http://voaspecialenglish.com We talked last week about counterfeit medicines and how the problem is especially bad in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The World Health Organization says up to thirty percent of the medicine sold in many developing countries is not real. It also estimates that up to fifty percent of the medicine sold on the Internet is counterfeit. That can put people at risk even in wealthy countries that represent only a small part of the counterfeit drug market. Today we look at what is being done to fight counterfeit drugs. Several companies are developing ways to make counterfeits easier to identify. And there are existing methods, like a machine that can quickly identify chemicals in pills to confirm if the pills are real. Other ideas include things like special tracking codes for drug packages. People could send a text message with the code and get a message back confirming that what they bought is listed in a database. Some drug makers and other companies put three-dimensional images called holograms on their products as a security device. Other anti-counterfeit efforts include the use of radio frequency identification tags. Many companies use these electronic tags to follow products through the supply chain from the manufacturer. The American Food and Drug Administration says RFID tags act like an electronic safety net to make it easier to catch counterfeits. Last July, the Food and Drug Administration advised manufacturers to add what are called physical chemical identifiers to their medicines. These are special chemicals, colorings or tastes that counterfeiters could not easily copy. Bryan Liang is with the Partnership for Safe Medicines, an organization in the United States. He says the Internet is not only a place where people can get tricked into buying counterfeit drugs. It is also a place where counterfeiters can find all the materials they need to make them. He says the most important members of the "counterfeit detection team" are the patients themselves. He says raids on counterfeiters are often the result of information from people who bought fake medicines. Bryan Liang says people who know their drugs and the effects of their drugs are the best security against fakes. And that's the VOA Special English Development Report. You can find last week's report on counterfeit drugs at voaspecialenglish.com. (Adapted from a radio program broadcast 01Mar2010)

20 Soaps in India Ranked from Worst to Best

05:24
What soap have you been using? Lux, Cinthol, Dove or Pears? Most of the soaps that are available in the market have so many toxic chemicals that a common man is unaware of. From strong detergent ingredients to harmful alcohols to petroleum products to pesticides, soaps have it all. Soaps are something which we use on a daily basis. And when we use a soap which has many harmful chemicals. over a period of time they seep into the bloodstream through the pores in our body and damage us from within. The worst part is that we don’t even know that we are unintentionally harming our body on a daily basis. Let me tell you that it is unfortunate that the soaps which we have been using since childhood have the maximum number of toxic chemicals.I was so shocked during the research of this video that I too had to change the bathing soap I had been using all my life. HARMFUL CHEMICALS FOUND IN SOAPS 1. Propylene Glycol 2. PEG - n, where n is a number. Higher the n, worse the soap is. 3. Tetrasodium EDTA 4. BHT 5. Methylchlorosiothiazolinone 6. Amodimethionene 7. Trideceth - 10 8. Tetrabutyl Ammonium Bromide 9. Cosmetic Colors 10. Fragrances I have thoroughly gone through each and every ingredient in almost all the soaps that are available in in Indian market. I have picked up around 20 most commonly used soaps in Indian homes. I have categorized these soaps in 5 categories on the basis of number of toxic chemicals in them. 01:58 - CATEGORY 1 has 8-10 toxic chemicals. 02:21 - CATEGORY 2 has 5-6 toxic chemicals. 02:38 - CATEGORY 3 has 2-3 toxic chemicals. 02:52 - CATEGORY 4 soaps have not mentioned the complete ingredient information. 03:25 - CATEGORY 5 soaps have almost no harmful ingredients. Chemical Etching: Automated Optical Inspection

00:34
Precision Micro, Europe's leading photo chemical etching company, now offer 100% inspection on all parts as a result of investment in Automated Optical Inspection (AOI). Utilising and modifying technology developed for the electronics manufacturing industry, Precision Micro has developed a bespoke AOI system. The system scans the work piece, acquires millions of data points (pixels) in a fraction of a second, and compares the data to a 'first article, known good sample'. As well as identifying missing components and features, the system will measure critical dimensions and ensure results fall within agreed limits, measured in microns. The system is so sensitive that it can identify minute surface blemishes, scratches and stains. Any defects are highlighted immediately and all data is stored for future analysis. In addition to ensuring the shipped product achieves six sigma quality standards, the results of the AOI are fed back into the company's continuous improvement programme, enabling appropriate remedial action to be taken. As components become ever smaller, the limitations of manual visual inspection become increasingly evident. The AOI system is not only faster, but by evidence, far more repeatable than manual visual inspection could ever be. The AOI system has been developed and installed in response to demands from major customers and is seen as a significant step in meeting the ever more stringent quality requirements of the automotive, healthcare and aerospace industries. http://www.precisionmicro.com/post/84/100-percent-inspection-for-minute-etched-components-

ECHA webinar: Why Opt for Substitution?

01:10:19
Replacing hazardous chemicals with safer alternatives can bring substantial benefits to the company, the environment and the health of workers and consumers – all good reasons to substitute them. An additional driver comes from the chemicals legislation. Companies using substances that have been identified as SVHCs under REACH, have to decide whether to apply for a permission to continue using these toxic substances for a limited period of time or to substitute them with safer alternatives. ECHA and a group of accredited stakeholder organisations have organised a series of webinars aiming to inspire companies to substitute hazardous chemicals and explain how it can be done. All webinars include examples of real life substitution projects. How to identify Wilden pump diaphragms and Wilden pump parts

02:21
Reliable Equipment Sales owner Elise Vaughn shows how to identify the type of Wilden pump diaphragms used in the pump company's air operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps. The expert in Wilden pumps, parts and repairs presents several individual diaphragms manufactured from PTFE, Wilflex, Buna and Neoprene and provides guidance on selecting a diaphragm material based on the liquid to be pumped. For example, use: PTFE (Teflon) for abrasives, chemicals, high temperatures Wilflex (Santoprene) for acids, caustics, and more Buna for oil-based materials Neoprene for water-based materials Some diaphragm materials are interchangeable with others, some are not. Vaughn cautions when you buy Wilden pumps or repair Wilden pumps to pay close attention to the pump diaphram material and understand that it needs to be compatible with the liquid being pumped and with the pump housing material for proper operation, peak performance and long pump life. The pump diaphragms shown up close fit the Wilden original series and/or Wilden advanced series pumps including M4, T4, P4, PX4, P400 and PX400 as well as the Wilden M8, T8, P8, P800 and PX800. Since many pump and process equipment operators are often unable to quickly determine the types of Wilden pump models and the types of Wilden diaframs running in their facilities, Vaughn explains how to determine the diaphragm material in the pump by using the color, shape and other characteristics. Wilden has been manufacturing air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps since 1955 as Wilden Pump & Engineering, LLC in Grand Terrace, CA. Its parent company, PSG Dover, is a $7 billion global manufacturer of pumps and process equipment. Reliable Equipment Sales is a Wilden distributor stocking Wilden pumps and Wilden pump parts and Wilden pump repair kits, many for immediate delivery.
