How to Camp on the Beach | Camping
Watch more How to Camp videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508082-How-to-Camp-on-the-Beach-Camping Beach camping is one of my favorite types of camping. The thing about beach camping is that you're getting, for probably free, a beautiful beach, almost entirely to yourself, that most people are paying hundreds or thousands of dollars to experience, to have a beach all to themselves. I've done beach camping on Fire Island, I've done beach camping on the outer banks, and both times were awesome. Beach camping is definitely more challenging than camping in the woods. The biggest issue is that there's no shade. So there's no trees. There is no way to escape the sun, unless you go in your tent, and the tent is going to be so hot, it's like a sauna in there. So, you want to prepare or figure out a way to avoid the sun without having to stay in your tent all day. What I did was, we brought a tarp and we found some driftwood and we set up a lean-to with the tarp and the driftwood, and we were able to be away from the sun. We got a great breeze and we just lay under the lean-to a good part of our days. The other thing is that sunscreen is not going to cut it. Of course, bring sunscreen, but you're going to want to bring t-shirts and hats and pants and stuff to actually block the sun. Another thing is that tents, when they're in the sand, will probably require longer tent stakes. If it's windy, the ten stake could come up, even if just the sand gets moved around. They're really cheap, you can get them at most camping stores. Just a longer tent stake and it'll keep the tent more securely in place. Something else on some beach trips is raccoons. Raccoons may be at the beach in some places so you may need to bury your food or figure out a way to store it so that the raccoons can't get at it. Another thing about beach camping is that there's not going to be a lot of wood around to build a fire. If you're lucky, you might be in a place where a lot of driftwood washes up. In North Carolina on the outer banks that was the case. We would wake up in the morning and there would be so much driftwood, you would just collect it and have it for fire at night. Also, if you are lucky enough to have firewood or you brought some with you, you're going to probably want to dig out a little bit of a hole in the sand and start your fire in a pit. The other thing I should mention to you about beach camping is that a lot of times, it's not permitted to camp on the dunes, and dunes on beaches are kind of where it's the most secluded. People are often really attracted to it, because it's got some greenery and you can kind of hide your tent in the dunes, but dunes are a sanctuary for so many animals. They're also the place where there are a lot of ticks sometimes, so just make sure you follow the rules of wherever you're camping. If they're protecting the dunes, they're probably protecting them for a really good reason. I mean, for all the little additional heartaches that camping at the beach causes, it couldn't be more worth it. You will have a beach pretty much to yourself. Oftentimes you get to go skinny-dipping. It's great. Beach camping is fantastic.

Terrifying Camping Styles You Should DEFINITELY Stay Away From
Some people love to go camping. But when talking about camping no one thinks of a dangerous hobby. Here we take a look at terrifying camping styles you should definitely stay away from. Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Voiceover by Rodney Tompkins: https://www.youtube.com/c/BigBadada2012 8: Hammocking 150 feet above the Italian Alps Monte Piana is a 2324 meter tall mountain located in northern Italy that is characterized as having two summits. Over one hundred years ago, the area was strongly fought over between Austrian and Italian armies during World War 1, with each side occupying one summit each. Many remnants of the brutal battle can still be seen on both summits. Today, a group of thrill seekers choose to experience Monte Piana in friendship and peace with the most unusual and terrifying camping style. The International Highline Meeting is an annual event where fearless campers set their hammocks hundreds of feet in the air at Monte Piana. The gatherings, which first started in 2012, is one of the world's most unique highline events. A strong set-up capable of carrying the weight of many people on a single line would first 7: Camping under the sea Underwater camping is surely the most impractical camping style anyone could think of, but it deserves a mention here for its uniqueness. Credits for this crazy twist goes to Chris Fietzer and Brian Wurster who went to the middle of the sea off the shores of Guam, and dived down, bringing with them their entire camping gear. With the help of rocks used as weights, they set up lawn chairs, hammocks, a tent, and even a fire pit - which of course was just there for aesthetic purposes. According to the duo, in order to not let the tent float up to the surface, they cut multiple slits into it so that air from the inside would escape. They had their hammock attached 6: Camping in Antarctica The hazards associated with Antarctica are endless. The enormous icy land mass is not only the world's coldest continent, but also the driest, windiest, and has the highest average elevation of all the continents. The notorious land of extremes definitely makes it in the list as one of the ultimate and most terrifying camping destinations. The freezing temperature and total isolation would put off most people from going there, let alone to actually camp there. For starters, visitors are forbidden to bring in outside food. The Antarctic Treaty has made it one of their goals to maintain the continent in its pristine 5: Desert camping in the Sahara When speaking of camping, people normally think of mountains and forests filled with plants and wildlife. But desert camping is an alternative style where the only view for campers is an endless landscape of brown sand with very few life forms. The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert, covering an incredible area of 9,200,000 square kilometers, which is almost the size of the entire United States 4: Rainforest camping in the Amazon You can't call yourself a true camper until you've explored a "real jungle", or in other words, a tropical rainforest. Tropical rainforests have an amazing variety of animals and plants, including some of the rarest ones on the planet. This also means that a set of terrifying challenges await rainforest campers, especially for those who go to the Amazon. The Amazon is the world's largest tropical rainforest 3: High altitude camping at Mt. Everest's base If you are really looking to challenge yourself and take camping to the next level, then try high altitude camping. This type of camping requires the utmost physical fitness, as campers would not only have to endure the exhausting hike upwards, they would also have to survive the frigid temperatures, thin air, and strong winds. The world's most renowned high altitude campsites would be the ones at the base of Mount Everest: the South base Camp in Nepal, and the North Base Camp in Tibet. The camps lie at an incredible 17,000 feet above 2: Hanging off tree tops This style of camping takes tree housing to whole new levels. Waldseilgarten is an adventure resort located in Pfronten, in Bavaria, Germany, which provides visitors with a unique camping experience in the wilderness. Brave campers could choose to climb to the mountain summit and nestle themselves in tents that hang off of tree tops. The branches are the only things supporting the suspended hammock-like tents, and falling off could result in serious injuries. The higher 1: Cliff camping It takes a certain type of crazy to climb up a mountainside, descend down to a small hanging cot, and spend the night dangling on the cliff face. Cliff camping is truly a daring experience for thrill seekers, and has been popular among hardcore climbers for quite some time. Usually climbers would camp on the side of a cliff when met with walls too difficult to climb in one go, but often times they do it just for

It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on YouTube are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

Cumberland Island National Seashore, GA (Backpacking and Camping)
Cumberland Island hike (Jan 2013). Took the ferry over and hiked to Stafford Beach and set up camp. The next day we hiked up to Plum Orchard (Built in 1898 by Lucy Carnegie) and back to Sea Camp. We then took a quick trip down to Dungeness (Thomas Carnegie and his wife Lucy began building on the original Dungeness foundation in 1884. The Carnegie's Dungeness burned in 1959 and today only the ruins remain on the site). We then left on the early ferry the next morning. Shot entirely on a GoPro Hero3 Black in 1080 at 24 FPS.

Destin, Florida: A Vacation From Our RV Vacation on the Gulf of Mexico's Emerald Coast
This is the last stop on the Great American Road Trip travel vlog. We just relax for a couple of days at the Emerald Coast, frolicking in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, eat some fabulous seafood, and then drive all the way to Panama City. Here we wish we were traveling in a van because there are many place we would love to stop for a bite or just enjoy the surf. From the blog: We are reaching the home stretch, the end of our epic road trip. In this last installment, the idea is to take a vacation from our vacation and do something totally different. We are just going to relax in the white sand and warm waters of the Emerald Coast of Florida. This is located in the Florida panhandle, on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. We are splurging in one of the most expensive and coveted RV Parks in the United States, Camp Gulf, in Destin Florida. Our two nights here will be a grand total of $445 for a beachfront site. Is it worth it? You can be the judge of that but I thoroughly enjoyed waking up a stone throw away from the water. Our time here is spent as follows: beach, beer, seafood, repeat. Well there's a little more than that, and we did certain things line eating a freshly made Krispy Kreme, which didn't make it to the video. Why it didn't? Well I had my hands full of Krispy Kreme glaze goodness and didn't want to touch my phone. As we begin our return trip to South Florida, we cruise along, hugging the coast all the way to Panama City. I the video you get treated to a mesmerizing time lapse as we pass by all the Gulf Coast communities. Eventually we get on the interstate and after a long, long drive we make it to the 305, the local pseudonym for Miami. #travelingrobert #rvlife #freeinmyrv

Minecraft is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on Minecraft is designed and constructed by members of the community. Minecraft is designed for 8 to 18 year old, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore Minecraft — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet to be dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, Minecraft members can earn speciality badges as well as Minecraft dollars (“Minecraft”). In turn, they can shop the online catalogue to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.
Paradise By The Sea Beach RV Resort in Oceanside CA - Southern California RV Park Recommendation
Paradise By The Sea Beach RV Resort in Oceanside California - Southern California Beach RV Park Recommendation We stayed at Paradise by the Sea RV Resort and this is a quick overview of our thoughts on the place! Overall we had a great time and would recommend this park to someone looking to stay in the San Diego and Oceanside areas in Southern California. The park is located just a short paved, level walk to the beach out the back gate of the park. Downtown Oceanside and the pier is just a mile down the way. We had so much fun on the beach. Oceanside was a nice area and the beaches were great! This place really caters to surfers, and warm rinse-off showers are on-site at the campground. They also rent surfboards, bikes, and kayaks if you don't have them yourselves. This park is a bit more expensive than some surrounding parks but for the proximity to the beach and the amenities we think it is worth it considering any other beach vacation would cost much more. ----------------------------------- Thank you for watching our videos! MUST STAY Station - Warroora Station Beach Camp 1/3 - Ep.65
Warroora Station aka ‘Warra’ one of our favourite campsites of the trip! ‘14 mile’ was our first campsite on the station, as we used this as a base to explore Coral Bay. We came in via the northern entrance which was a little corrugated, but nothing dramatic. Despite all the ‘4WD only’ and ‘lower your tyre pressure’ signs, we thought, it was easy as to drive onto the beach sites. Due to the popular nature of the camp spot, the sand was very compact and it was like driving on tar. 14 Mile Now, for only $100 for the week, we camped at site ‘S’ along the waterfront. The ocean was only metres away from our front door. During our 10 days at 14 mile it was very windy. We used the vehicles and caravan as wind barriers and setup a ‘cocoon’ as such. Fires were allowed, but they had to be contained to a fire pit and you also had to BYO wood, as collecting on the station was banned. It was a very social 10 days, with ourselves, CamperAustralis & the Roving Russos having delish food, sundowners and card games galore all week long. Even some mates from the sunny Coast, dropped in for a few nights on their travels. It definitely made our stay at 14 mile much more enjoyable with great company. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Extract from Warrooras website Warroora Station is a family run station offering eco-friendly wilderness beach camping as well as a variety of accommodation options. Warroora's location is truly breathtaking with miles of secluded beaches and fringed by the World Heritage Ningaloo Reef. 14 Mile offers a spectacular camping experience for all travellers. It is the only wilderness camping area on Warroora Station that is accessible for 2 wheel drive vehicles. Those with 4x4's are able to camp right on the beautiful white sands of the beach, with the calm protected waters inside the Ningaloo Reef only meters from your camp. Launch your boat (very small dinghy) right off the beach outside your door, what more could you ask for in a wilderness camping location! For those with 2 wheel drive, there are many camping areas very close to the ocean on the firm ground offering stunning views of the reef and easy access to the sea. 14 Mile is a "must visit" for anyone wanting to experience the raw natural beauty of the Ningaloo Coastline. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for watching and a BIG thank you to our Patreons for supporting our Episodes. THIS PLACE IS WILD!! Usal Beach, California
I travel down a one-lane mountain road for an hour to arrive at the southernmost end of the Lost Coast of California. This is Usal Beach and it's amazing. But don't try to get here in the winter. The road is steep and can be slick. People slide off the road and get stuck all the time. I suggest you have a 4X4 and don't pull a trailer. Right away I was greeted by all the locals. A young elk stopped by on his way to the playground. A couple of foxes checked out my camper and left the cutest prints in the dust on the spare tire of my camper. There was a sea lion and many many birds. Really amazing place. This is part of Sinkyone State Park. There is a campground here but it's not maintained and you need to pack out all of your trash as there are no services here. Visit to Bandon Oregon Part 1 - Bullards Beach SP
On our annual return snowbird RV trip up the Oregon Coast this spring we stopped at a favorite little coastal town called Bandon "Bandon-by-the-Sea". I'm putting together a blog post about our stay which will include a 3 part video playlist showcasing the Bullards Beach State Park we stayed at, the cool little historical town district and of course the wickedly cool beach it is most famous for. In this first video. I'll show you around the state park we camped in including an old historic lighthouse, the campground, and a hike / dog walk on a trail out to Bullards Beach. Cheap Beach Camping at Playa Santispac (Bahia Concepcion, Mexico) (212)
Are you ready for cheap beachside camping with views to die for? Are you self contained in your big or little rig, whatever it is? Cause that will help. The showers and bathrooms are scary but for 200 pesos or approximately $10 USD, you can't really complain. The clams are plentiful, the beach is literally at your doorstep, and you have the safety of your many neighbors. This cute little campground is run by the municipality and all proceeds go directly back into the community. How about that for a symbiotic relationship? During low tide you can follow the shoreline and hike along the volcanic rock. It is also a great calm beach for kayaking and it is dog friendly. There are many boats that choose to settle here for the winter, bobbing away in the bay. We really enjoyed this campground and would pay more (say $15 USD if they had clean bathrooms and clean showers with good pressure, and warm water). We would not hesitate to stay here again for a couple of nights at the most. Mainly because of the lack of bathrooms and cell connectivity. ________________________________________________________________ ▶ Check out my gear on Kit: https://kit.com/DoriandMenaIf you liked this video and want to support our channel, please subscribe, like, and share! Magnolia Beach Ride Along To The Beach, Free RV Camping
I was concerned about what it would be like to drive a big RV on Magnolia Beach in Magnolia Beach TX. It turns out it was a piece of cake. Ride along as I start the video as we pull into town and end it as we get our spot. It was a great place to rest up for a few days. Make sure and subscribe if you would like to follow along with Terri, George(me) & Gizzy on our adventures as we wander the country living full time in our red, 2002 Newmar Dutch Star, diesel pusher RV. I swear, we have to be the only people in a red class A motorhome. You can also follow our blog at jumingoffthecliff.com or on facebook via facebook.com/jumpingoffthecliff. We started this adventure in the Summer of 2016. While our channel is based on living full time in an RV, our subject matter wanders a little like we do;) Anyway, I hope you will join us as we wander about.
