Iran Fights Oil Pollution in Persian Gulf

02:07
Shipping is an international industry and it can only operate effectively if the regulations and standards are implemented on an international basis. International Maritime Organizations, IMO, is responsible for implementing these regulations. IMO has declared Persian Gulf the most strategic waterway in the world because of its importance in the global oil transportation. Due to war, oil leakage, extended drilling and oil extraction and also waste disposal, pollution of the water has increased alarmingly. IMO also declared The Persian Gulf with its complicated marine ecosystem consisting of various sorts of marine species as a very significant and sensitive area, and called for littoral states to protect this area. Iran has long been combating this issue by setting up laboratories and providing facilities for constant monitoring of oil pollution all on its own. As a partner of IMO, today Iran's head of Ports and Maritime Organization and IRGC Navy Force's Commander in Chief signed a memorandum of cooperation to boost preventing oil pollution and optimizing search and rescue missions in Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf region. The promotion of sustainable shipping and sustainable maritime development is one of the major priorities of IMO and Iran shares the same concern. Right after signing the deal, Navy officials joined other Navy commanders and sailors along with their families to celebrate their longtime service and appreciate their efforts in making Iran and the whole regions waters a more secure area. Caspian pipeline politics of Europe, Russia and China

11:33
Russia supplies more then 25 percent of Europe's hydrocarbon needs. Ever since the natural gas cutoffs in 2006 and 2009, the European countries have been searched for ways to reduce their dependency on Russian oil and natural gas. In this context, the crisis in Ukraine has sparked a new drive for the search for alternative sources of energy. One project that is of particular interest, but underappreciated in the media, is the Trans-Caspian pipeline. If realized it would significantly change the energy map of Europe in the long term. Baku - Where Oil Flows

01:38
This mini clip shows glimpses of some of the old oil fields that are found in and around Baku, capital city of Azerbaijan. Formerly part of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan is often thought of as one of the 'birthplaces' of the oil industry and its history is linked to the fortunes of petroleum. Some of the oil derricks and installations stand literally in the backyard of residents, creating a surreal atmosphere. Pollution in these parts of the city is a major issue, yet the petroleum industry also provides a major boost to the economy. Copyright of all footage: Hoffer Media

The Iranian Drones That Save Lives

04:29
Your neighborhood quadcopter probably doesn't have the ability to launch Hellfire missiles, but just saying the word "drone" conjures up images of flying, buzzing death. But what about drones' potential for saving lives? We've seen how drones can be a crucial asset to search and rescue operations, but Iran's RTS Lab has taken an entirely new angle. RTS's Pars drone carries a payload of life preservers that can be delivered to a drowning swimmer far faster than a lifeguard. As we saw in testing in the Caspian Sea, the drone can also work at night, using bright lights, biothermal sensors, and a built-in camera to stream video to rescuers on shore. The concept works well, and it's an excellent example of how powerful drones—which are cheaper and easier to use than just about any other aerial delivery vehicle—can actually be. Here in the US, where the FAA remains steadfast in its desire to squelch the nascent commercial drone industry, this Iranian drone built of Chinese parts sets an example of what can be done when we set our eyes to the skies to do good. Read about the legality of drones here: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/commercial-drones-are-completely-legal-a-federal-judge-ruled Follow MOTHERBOARD Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/motherboardtv Twitter: http://twitter.com/motherboard

Iran PressTV documentary ship building industry مستند صنعت کشتی سازی

21:25
3000 kilometers of Iran's border meet the sea and since long before Columbus, Iranians have been riding the waves in war and peace time. But in modern times, Iran's ship building is a relatively new industry. The country is battling to acquire the technology and expertise needed to get a foot in the global ship building market, but for now it's an out of pocket endeavor. As an oil rich nation Iran has been obliged, until quite recently, to rely on outside help when it comes to transporting its oil. And offshore oil projects also demand industrial might that Iran has yet to fully develop. So although the bills are mostly flowing in at this point, and returns for Iran's ship building industry are slight, Tehran is supporting its expenditure, with the future in mind. In the last decade Iran has built and launched three ocean liners, so for this edition of the show we flew 1300 kilometers, from the capital to Iran's port town of Bandar Abbass to stand on the deck of one of these sea monsters. http://www.presstv.com/Program/204140.html more videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez_xPh8tDkY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2fFhzt9bjo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suBI2FF0wvM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVtqc-9AJtk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cQOnL2pWSY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HcPel7OFqo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLlx4DDgwyE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUnGijPDvfI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RlzKr9cG-k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9d9ypIVjT4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P1E8NopPog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SOBEtWpqb4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCauiGTLL8I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eybEPOl3Ga8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUTQE_7MVi8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suBI2FF0wvM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmSAL9qlCok https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1exFCyE06o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrCMUWbhwck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56JPPAmgMhI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id46emmGECw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4RQ64rLHo0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDAiSUpBrzI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IEh_rDNQsk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFvjdH-IiSA

The 18th-largest country in the world in terms of area at 1,648,195 km2 (636,372 sq mi), Iran is an ethnically diverse country and has a population of around 77 million.[12][15] It is a mountainous country of particular geopolitical significance owing to its location in three spheres of Asia. Tehran is the capital, the country's most populous city and the political, cultural, commercial and industrial center of the nation. Iran is a regional power,[16][17] and holds an important position in international energy security and world economy as a result of its large reserves of petroleum and natural gas. Iran has the largest proven natural gas reserves in the world,[18] and the fourth largest proven petroleum reserves.[19] The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: نيروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی ايران‎) include the IRIA (Persian: ارتش جمهوری اسلامی ایران‎) and the IRGC (Persian: سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی‎) and the Law Enforcement Force[3] (Persian: نيروی انتظامی جمهوری اسلامی ایران‎). These forces total about 545,000 active personnel (not including the Law Enforcement Force).[4] All branches of armed forces fall under the command of General Headquarters of Armed Forces (ستاد کل نیروهای مسلح). The Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics is responsible for planning logistics and funding of the armed forces and is not involved with in-the-field military operational command. Iran's military was called the Middle East's most powerful by General John Abizaid, Commander, United States Central Command (U.S. forces' commander in the region). However, General Abizaid said he did not include the Israel Defense Forces as they did not fall into his area of operations.[5] The Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (Persian: سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی ‎ / Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelāb-e Eslāmi, or Sepāh for short), often called Revolutionary Guards, is a branch of Iran's military, founded after the Iranian revolution on 5 May 1979.[4] Whereas the regular military (artesh) defends Iran's borders and maintains internal order, according to the Iranian constitution, the Revolutionary Guard (pasdaran) is intended to protect the country's Islamic system.[5] While the Revolutionary Guards state that their role in protecting the Islamic system is preventing foreign interference as well as coups by the military or "deviant movements", critics of the Iranian Government contend that the organization is entirely analogous to the SS of Nazi Germany and is meant to suppress any internal dissent with any means necessary by a cult of personality surrounding the Supreme Leader, as well as controlling the sensitive parts of the Islamic Republic, such as security for high ranking officials, oversight of Intelligence services, maintaining the long range missile stockpile, and supporting "Islamic movements" around the world.[6][7] The IRGC has roughly 125,000 military personnel including ground, aerospace and naval forces. Its naval forces are now the primary forces tasked with operational control of the Persian Gulf.[8] It also controls the paramilitary Basij militia which has about 90,000 active personnel,[9] and in recent years has developed into a "multibillion-dollar business empire,"[10] and is reportedly the "third-wealthiest organization in Iran" after the National Iranian Oil Company and the Imam Reza Endowment.[11] Since its origin as an ideologically driven militia, the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution has taken an ever more assertive role in virtually every aspect of Iranian society. Its expanded social, political, military, and economic role under

Why not join the channel at: http://www.youtube.com/worlddocs2100 Iran, officially the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a country in Western Asia. It is bordered on the north by Turkmenistan, with Kazakhstan and Russia across the Caspian Sea; on the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan; on the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman; on the west by Iraq; and on the northwest by Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Comprising a land area of 1,648,195 km2 (636,372 sq mi), it is the second-largest nation in the Middle East and the 18th-largest in the world; with over 77 million inhabitants, Iran is the world's 17th most populous nation. It is the only country that has both a Caspian Sea and Indian Ocean coastline. Iran has been of geostrategic importance because of its central location in Eurasia and Western Asia and the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is home to one of the world's oldest civilizations, beginning with the formation of the Proto-Elamite and Elamite kingdom in 3200--2800 BC. The Iranian Medes unified the country into the first of many empires in 625 BC, after which it became the dominant cultural and political power in the region. Iran reached the pinnacle of its power during the Achaemenid Empire (First Persian Empire) founded by Cyrus the Great in 550 BC, which at its greatest extent comprised major portions of the ancient world, stretching from parts of the Balkans (Bulgaria-Pannonia) and Thrace-Macedonia in the west, to the Indus Valley in the east, making it the largest empire the world had yet seen. The empire collapsed in 330 BC following the conquests of Alexander the Great. The area eventually regained influence under the Parthian Empire and rose to prominence once more after the establishment of the Sasanian dynasty (Neo-Persian empire) in 224 AD, under which Iran again became one of the leading powers in the world along with the Byzantine Empire for the next four centuries. Iran and Libya Could Trigger Global Imbalance in Oil Supply

01:59
Energy analysts warn that the return of Libyan and Iranian oil could disrupt the global oil market. MLV & Co. Senior Energy and Natural Resource Analyst Michael Peterson tells TheStreet's Joe Deaux that this is one of the first years in many that analysts aren't expecting for a robust upward movement in oil prices. Peterson says Iran and Libya could have an impact on the U.S. WTI trade later this year, but he adds that the first quarter of 2014 may be unaffected. Iran Navy stage a large-scale naval exercise “Velayat 93” off the Coast of Makran, in the Sea of Oma

01:49
Iran’s Navy commander on Saturday announced that the Navy has successfully test-fired a new type of state-of-the-art torpedo in the country's southern waters. “The weapon will improve our maritime combat power and will be highly effective,” Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said in a press conference in Tehran on Saturday. The commander also said that two anti-submarine helicopters, an anti-surface helicopter and a hovercraft have also been added to the Navy’s fleet. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari also named the complete overhaul of five missile-launching frigates of Fath-class warships, and equipping them with surface-to-surface missiles, unveiling two other missile-launching frigates, and a new 3D radar system called “Asr” as the latest achievements of the Iranian Navy. Elsewhere in his remarks, the commander said that the homegrown Fateh and Damavan destroyers will be unveiled soon. He also said that Navy will stage a large-scale naval exercise, codenamed “Velayat 93” off the Coast of Makran, in the Sea of Oman in December. Back in February, Rear Admiral Sayyari had announced that his forces are working on three upgraded versions of Jamaran-class warships, known as Jamaran-3, 4 and 5. The indigenous destroyer is now in service, being employed for various naval missions. The Iranian Navy’s 32nd fleet of warships, which departed for the Gulf of Aden in November to protect the country's cargo ships and oil tankers in the international waters, includes a Jamaran destroyer as well. http://www.tasnimnews.com/English/Home/Single/565111

Iran Today - Oil prices and Iran’s budget (P.1)

13:09
Iran has the world’s fourth largest proven oil reserves and currently exports around one million barrels of oil a day. Having 10% of the world’s proven oil reserves and 15% of its gas reserves, Iran is considered an energy superpower. However, with oil prices dropping by 40% during the past five months and with the deadline for reaching an agreement on Iran’s nuclear energy program extended to June 2015, making plans for Iran’s future has become difficult. In this edition of Iran Today, we discuss the draft budget bill proposed by the government for Iran’s next fiscal year. Iran Today - Iran plans to avoid potential water crisis (28/8/2014)

26:50
As Iran experiences a steep decrease in precipitation and water supply, many experts and government officials think of ways to counter a potential water crisis. Describing the situation as a “water shortage of epic proportions,” experts are saying that this is the result of a decades-long trend for which little has been done to be reversed. Changes in the global climate have, of course, been contributing to the situation, but generally speaking, except for belts of high humidity along the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, Iran has an arid to semiarid climate. This unbalanced distribution of precipitation required strict water management policies.

Iran Today - Boosting international trade in Iran (P.1)(13/8/2014)

12:18
Part 1:http://youtu.be/uIRXhduPk30 Part 2:http://youtu.be/AW4ikld3Dck Iran has succeeded in increasing its non-oil exports in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year, compared to the same time last year. If Iran’s economic master-plans succeed in the near future, it will no longer be dependent on oil revenue because of a significant increase in its non-oil exports. Based on its 5-year development plans, Iran should be exporting 89 billion dollar worth of non-oil goods at the end of its 5th development plan in 2015. The country seeks to make the goal a reality by exploiting its potential trade links with other countries. President Hassan Rouhani’s administration has also been implementing several economic and political measures to boost the country’s non-oil exports since he took office. Consequently, the statistics show a hopeful future for the country’s foreign trade.
