Watch more How to Make a Website videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/404197-How-to-Make-a-Website-for-Your-Business If you want to build your brand's public presence, consider making a website for your business. Step 1: Pick a name Select a web address for your site, using a domain registrar to find and purchase one that's available. Make sure your web address is easy to spell so potential users and search engines can find it easily. Step 2: Choose a host Find a web host to manage your domain's traffic and server, which stores your site's data. Investigate if your service offers technical support outside of regular business hours, so you can address potential issues as they arise. Tip Check if your registrar also offers free web-hosting services. Step 3: Build the basics Set up your domain's administrator information so you can control access to your website. Create an e-mail address linked to the site to use for professional communication, and to make it easy for site visitors to reach you. Step 4: Design it Build your site using templates from your web host or an online service, or program it internally for complete control over your design and presentation. Construct your site so it clearly directs users from page to page. Step 5: Express yourself Present your business' mission and contact information clearly on your homepage. Create pages where you can post a catalog of your products or services and a client list to help instill consumer confidence in your visitors. Tip Make any links to relevant, positive information about your company easy to spot. Step 6: Optimize your content Use search engine optimization, metadata, and analytics to find terms and keywords to integrate in your copy and help your site rise to the top of search results. Tailor your keywords to fit your business' goals without taking away from your information's clarity. Step 7: Refresh regularly Update your site's content regularly to ensure visitors know you're invested in your enterprise and dedicated to your business' growth. Did You Know? During the 2009 holiday season, consumers spent $27 billion online.

Simple Steps To Create a Catchy Jingle

03:08
By CAD Music www.cadmusic.com [email protected] +60322881691 CAD Music has been in the business of jingles and audio production for over 10 years. I really don't know what is better to create acknowledgment and brand recognition in advertising than a jingle and a catchy tune. The power of a jingle is its ability to make your brand or slogan memorable. When people can remember you, and associate your brand or product with the emotion stimulated by your jingle, you have one of the most powerful advertising tools available. If people hear your brand name sung enough times it becomes a part of their consciousness and gives your brand name recognition. In this day and age, we are constantly bombarded with information after information, sentence after sentence. We all listen, but does anyone really hear? Our team takes an innovative and fresh approach to create jingles that entertain, inform, motivate and most importantly, sell your product. And you know; If your commercial doesn't get the results you want, it really doesn't matter how much you spend on advertising.

How to Value a Business

01:41
Watch more How to Start a Business videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/316901-How-to-Value-a-Business If you're an entrepreneur looking to buy or sell a business, you need to know the business's real value. Step 1: Research Look online to find recent news in the industry. Compare how well this business is doing to the performance of its peers. Step 2: Compare assets to earnings Compare the assets to the earnings. If the earnings aren't enough to cover that amount, then the business's value is no greater than the value of its tangible assets. Step 3: Compare the business against its peers Compare the business to its peers. If the business is average in its industry, you can value it using a rule-of-thumb or market approach. Tip Market approaches don't always work well for businesses with high intangible assets, such as a strong brand name, patents, or proprietary technology. Step 4: Use a ratio Find the P-to-B ratio by dividing the share price by the book value of the business's equity and then subtract its assets. Step 5: Use the income approach Apply an income approach. Choose your earning level, for example, pretax income. Multiply it by the appropriate conversion factor, such as a capitalization rate or a simple multiplier. Step 6: Add liquid assets Add the company's liquid assets -- its cash and net accounts receivable -- to your result. Step 7: Make your move Buy, sell, or move on. But that's a decision for your business instinct -- and there's no formula for that. Did You Know? More than 80 percent of entrepreneurs have full- or part-time jobs, or are managing an existing business.

The Business of Computer Repair

01:25:03
Info Level: Beginner Presenter: Eli the Computer Guy Date Created: May 19, 2010 Length of Class: 84 Minutes Tracks Computer Repair Prerequisites Interest in starting a Computer Repair Business Purpose of Class This class teaches students the basic concepts for starting a Computer Repair business, but also warns that this type of business is unlikely to be viable in the future. Topics Covered What is the Computer Repair Business Where to operate a Computer Repair Business from How the Computer Repair Business makes profit How to Bill Clients Selling Computer and Parts Limiting Liability Common Mistakes Class Notes Introduction The Computer Repair Business includes: Hardware Repair , Configurations, Viruses Mix this business with Networking Business and Data Recovery How to do it? Storefront? -- Seems more "legitimate" but costs can far outweigh benefits At their house? -- Going to the clients house is a good option that saves overhead cost, and really isn't as bad as people imagine it can be At your house? -- People are willing to bring computers to your house. Efficiency Computer Repair is a commodity business Setup your workbench to be as efficient as possible (4 Monitors, Keyboards, Mice) Sysprep, Slipstream and Disk Imaging increase the speed of installing new operating systems. Billing They always pay something Flat Rates work best Up sell Parts -- Reselling parts easily adds $25-$200 profit to a work order Selling Computers? Building custom computers is generally more trouble than it's worth now. Easier to "consult" on buying a Dell Create Partnerships You can't do everything. Approach local tech companies about swapping work. Limit Your Liability Use contracts You are not responsible for data Time limit for pickup Payment due at time of delivery Common Mistakes Create checklists so you have fail out points (Avoid the "Rabbit Hole to Hell") Communication with the client makes everyone's life better Under Promise, Over Deliver Parts Always buy name brand parts from reliable vendors. It's not worth time, money, or frustration dealing with no name manufacturers or vendors. If a part fails the client will blame you, not the manufacturer Final Thoughts... The Computer Repair Business is dying New Computers can be bought for $200 at Best Buy Windows 7 is much more stable/ secure then XP and needs fewer repairs. There still is, and always will be work, but... There are other aspects of Information Technology that will pay much better and be more relevant and interesting. This is a good place to get your feet wet as a new IT Consultant. What you learn fixing $200 computers is directly relevant to what you need to know fixing $20,000 systems, but there is a lot less liability WHEN something goes wrong. Start a Computer Repair Business with the idea of learning the skills required to become a valuable technology consultant. There is a lot or work available, but clients are not willing to pay enough for "real" technicians to deal with them. By coming in cheap you can easily get this work, and then move on to offering other solutions once you feel comfortable running a small technology business.

Small Business Marketing Plan - Choosing The Right Doma ...

04:12
http://SmallBusinessAdvertising.ca In this video you will learn about choosing the right domain name. You will learn what is a domain name What is the difference between a good domain name and a bad domain name What you should avoid, that most business owners do wrong, when choosing a domain name and how to avoid it. And the importance of having a keyword rich domain name as part of your small business marketing strategy. What is a domain name? Its the part after the http://www. and it ends in the .com .net .ca or other extentions For example Google.com or twitter.com A good domain name is SEO friendly (keyword rich) A Keyword rich domain name is key to any successful business marketing strategy online because it is the foundational step in ranking highly and getting found by your customers. What you should avoid (the bad domain names): -choosing a "cool' domain name for your business -using your company name, unless your business name is keyword rich. Lets use the example my company name Fast Track Marketing Success however my domain name is SmallBusinessAdvertising.ca for my business because of the number of searches for this keyword. This one step allowed me to rank on the first page of Google for the "small business advertising" keyword in a matter of few weeks with a few posts for a brand new website. But I do own the domain name for my company name and you should too. At the time of this video I have less links then some of the more high authoroty wites however I have a 100% keyword density domane name which boosted me to rank higher than websites like entrepreneur.com and about.com with a lot less content. When choosing your domain name try to get an "exact match" domain name for best results eg. DogTraning.com If you cannot get an "exact match" then your next option is to go for a "phrase match" eg. MyDogTraining.com or DogTrainingBlog.com Idealy you want either an exact match or a phrase match domain name, but if you are unable to get those you may consider a "broad match" domain name. For example TrainingYourDog.com Having your keywords in your domain name will help you in your marketing efforts for your small online or local business. This is the first step in search engine optimization. Unless you have an extremly high marketing budget you should stick to these boring but seo friendly and keyword rich domain names. Just by following the simple tips in this video will allow you to rank faster in search engines like google, saves you a lot of effort, time and money when you are trying to achieve high search engine rankings for your local business or online business. You can find the best domain name from doing your market research. If you have not yet done any market and keyword research check out my video tutorial for "Doing your market research".

Golden Quality Ice Cream Company Plymouth, Pa.mpg

08:46
A video and still images of the old Golden Quality Ice Cream Company in Plymouth, Pa. Simon Goldstein founded the company in the early 1900's. His son Eugene later took over the family business and operated it for 61 years. At one time the Golden Quality Ice Cream Company was the largest independent ice cream manufacturer in the United States. Their brand name, Golden Quality Empress Deluxe Ice Cream was in every freezer. On those hot summer days, here in Plymouth, there was nothing like having an ice cream cone at the ice cream parlor. Golden Quality closed its doors in the early 1980's. A few years later, the ice cream parlor was re-opened under the familiar Village Ice Cream Parlor name. The ice cream parlor remained open for several years. After its closing, several different businesses operated in the old ice cream parlor. The building history goes way back before the Ice Cream Company. In 1864, the 1st National Bank was organized at that location. Later the building became the Stegmaier Brewery Depot Plymouth Branch. Stegmaier Beer was delivered by rail and then distributed to the many local taverns in and around Plymouth. The ice cream parlor with its 7 room apartment, along with the entire historic property are currently for sale.

Passionate Entrepreneurs: How to Build a Startup Company from the Heart About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
