Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte - How To Get There
Went to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte last October 12, 2014, Sunday, 12:00PM-2:30PM :D :D :D I know that there are a lot of people who would want to visit this newly developed natural attraction but there's not a lot of info on the net on how to get there, only pictures of the place. That is the reason why I made this clip - to help / guide people on how to get to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte! You're welcome, by the way! :D How to Get There - Option 1: Naog sa rotonda / entrance ng Magpayang, then u can ride a habal2x going to the falls. Option 2: Suyod sa Magpayang, diretsoha lang ang dalan, then turn to the rough road on your right, just BEFORE the fork road (as shown in Google Maps on the opening part of my video). If u don't have a car, there are also habal2x's (one way fare is P50.00) waiting to take you to the falls as you turn right :D Then subaya ra ang dayan / just go straight ahead and be prepared for a bumpy ride of about 3 kilometers until you reach Brgy. Marayag's Gym (this is the landmark that tells you you're super close to the entrance). When you reach Marayag's Gym, you then TURN LEFT to where the flags are... Then boom! Before you know it, you're already at the entrance. Option 3 - You can use this route i made on Strava - https://www.strava.com/routes/4162674 How's the road going there? Well, as of now it is still a rough road. Don't bring a car that has a low clearance to the ground as huge rocks from the road will only damage/scratch it's under chassis... Only bring pick-up trucks, motorcycles, SUVs or even a mountain bike (if you dare)! :D Better yet just go ride the habal2x hehehe ^_^ Also there is a part of the road that's narrow (only one lane) so goodluck if two cars going the opposite direction pass by it at the same time! o_O Overall, it's a really nice place! Very refreshing! I highly recommend you ride the bamboo raft (it's FREE) and get close to the waterfalls and have the biggest shower / best back massage of your life hehehe. Super nag enjoy jod ko. What is, tagaw og waterfalls! lol Finally, a powerful waterfalls that's close to Surigao City! :D Kudos for developing this place! I hope the road going to Togonan Falls will be widened and cemented soon. And I hope more of Surigao / Caraga's natural attractions will be developed soon... :D Togonan Falls FYI - The waterfalls is said to be around 70 feet high! Whoa! And is only a 1 hour drive from Surigao City! :) What are you waiting for? GO na people!!! Also, it is said that there are 300 easy steps going down the waterfalls proper. But dle naman na nimo mapansin sa sobra nimo ka-excited makita ang falls ^_^ hehe That's all. Hope this video helped :)

Crossing Bacuag's Hanging Bridge (Tulay) + Zipline, Surigao del Norte, Philippines
Crossing Bacuag's Hanging Bridge (Tulay) + Zipline, Surigao del Norte, Philippines The islet is called Puyo Islet, FYI ^_^ Video Review / Demo taken August 20, 2017, Sunday, 11AM. How to get there / route / asa agihon / strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/1142341792 1. From Surigao City, you can almost hire any van / bus from the terminal to take you to Bacuag. Just ride a bus / van with a route going to Tandag or Hayanggabon & tell the conductor / driver to drop you off only at Bacuag's rotonda. Non-aircon van fare from Surigao City Terminal to Bacuag Rotonda is P60 only. 2. You can also ride your bike to get there for a more adventurous / tipid journey. It's just a 42km bike ride away from Surigao City :) 3. Anyways, after arriving at Bacuag's rotonda, you can walk to Bitaog Elementary School (about .5 to 1km from the rotonda) & from there ask the locals where the Hanging Bridge & Zipline is! Everyone in town knows where it is! Here's the guide: From Bacuag Rotonda at the highway, go down to the town proper & remember to turn left at the first intersection called Naldoza Street & then turn left again at Carlota Street. Go straight ahead & then stop at Bitaog Elementary School, you then turn right to L&V Seaview Lounge. And that's it! ^_^ You can also dine / get a snack from L&V Seaview Lounge after your trip, it is beside the Hanging Bridge starting point. Hanging bridge to & from Puyo Islet + Bacuag Safeline (Zipline) Go na people! Pa picture & Latay na! ^_^ #tagaw This unique hanging bridge to an islet & zipline back to the shore is about 30-45 mimutes away from Surigao City! Yey! :) It is still under construction but you may visit & cross the bridge. Also the caretaker said that by October 2017, hopefully the zipline would be operational already, just in time for their fiesta celebration. Thank you for making this project! Keep making / discovering tourist spots in Surigao City / Surigao del Norte / Caraga! ^_^ Thank you also Surigao TV for the info on this! ^_^ PS: You can also check out my video on Bacuag's Little Baguio Waterfalls for tips / info on how to get there after your trip from the Hanging Bridge. It's just a tricycle away (13km) from the Hanging Bridge for a fare of P50 only per person one way https://youtu.be/7-EAHbiWQdo

Mapaso Wellness Hot Spring Resort of Mainit, Surigao del Norte
Route / Asa agihon - https://www.strava.com/activities/490868898 Feb. 11, 2016 - Went to Togonan Falls then to Mapaso Hot Spring with sidetrip to Sacanto Food Delights @ Tubod ^_^ The road going to Mapaso Hot Spring is now fully concretized / paved unlike Togonan Falls which is still rough road. The entrance fee to the Hot Spring is just P25.00 but there is an option for P1,000 if you want an exclusive pool. Mapaso Wellness Hotspring had just developed / expanded / added more naturally hot pools unlike before where there is only one pool :) Super relaxing ang Hot Spring, as in! Highly recommended! Overall, I had a really great time! And I will definitely come back here. I dream of just cycling this place from Surigao hehe :) Goodluck to me!

Surigao's Lumondo Waterfalls of Brgy. Budlingin, Alegria, Surigao del Norte
March 13, 2016 - It was brown out the whole day (7AM-5PM) in Surigao City, so me & my cousin decided to check out these tourist spots (Lumondo Waterfalls & Tinago Lagoon) in Surigao del Norte :) Route / Asa agihon / How to get there - https://www.strava.com/activities/515782526 FYI: The road going to Lumondo Waterfalls (to my surprise) is already concrete / cemented / paved all the way from the highway to Lumondo Falls Information Center @ Brgy. Budlinging, Alegria ^_^ Just be careful / on the look out for electric posts being installed in the MIDDLE of the road??? Really? WTF contractor? hehe An accident waiting to happen for someone whose not alert! Our overall expense was, guess what, P0.00 zero, yep, that's right! Since the information center is already abandoned, no one was there to collect fees. We used our own car to get there (but you could always hire a habal2x or motorcycle by the highway for those who don't have their own private car) since the road is cemented anyway. We did ask some help from a local to guide us on how to get to the Lumondo Waterfalls Information Center (FYI: by the left side of the info center is where you will find the starting point of the concrete stairs going to the falls, which kind of reminded me of the stairs of Togonan Waterfalls of Mainit hehe) & gave him P100.00 for his kindness hehe :) But to be honest, you don't need a tour guide to go there since the cemented / paved road will already take you all the way to the Lumondo Waterfalls Information Center if you just follow the route map I gave you on strava. You're welcome! Hehe ^_^ We also gave another P100.00 to another local at the falls for guiding us at the top part of the falls & for taking videos / pics of me with the waterfalls in the background lol ^_^ lain ako hehe Anyways, nice! Keep it up! Keep developing roads going to Caraga's natural attractions. Don't corrupt the people's money please hehe. Put it where people could see results. Like the road going to this waterfalls :) As of now there's nobody maintaining the falls. Pls. assign personnel to clean up / maintain the place. Thank you for developing this tourist spot! ^_^

Tinago Lagoon of Taganaan, Surigao del Norte / Lapsay / Island / Holiday Resort 2016 Adventure
March 13, 2016 - It was brown out the whole day (7AM-5PM) in Surigao City, so me & my cousin decided to check out these tourist spots (Lumondo Waterfalls & Tinago Lagoon) in Surigao del Norte :) Route / Asa agihon / How to get there - https://www.strava.com/activities/515782526 FYI: Went to Tinago Lagoon / Island / Little Palawan @ 4PM after our trip from Lumondo Waterfalls of Alegria. Our overall expense was only P550.00 Breakdown is P500 pakyaw - roundtrip na cja na banca boat ride to & from Tinago Lagoon (we ended up asking a local of Taganaan to take us to the lagoon using his motorized banca because the official boat / banca going to the lagoon had already departed that morning) & P25 per head entrance fee. It was ok to not rent a cottage since all four of them were fully booked when we got there. We just kindly asked one of the cottage tenants to pls let us pass through the ladder of their cottage so that we could finally swim at the lagoon to our heart's content hehe & I'm glad they were kind enough to oblige ^_^ the water is indeed very inviting. Go na guys! Visit this place na. So worth it. You could rent a kayak to explore the place too & go platform diving since all cottages are equipped with a diving platform :) I believe there is also a Cave Exploration activity while you're there, since I saw on Instagram that some people had caving pics during their stay @ the Lagoon, just ask the caretaker of the place, for more info, should you want to go spelunking hehe :)

Just wanted to share with you this scenic view as I was cycling through Surigao City's newly concretized / cemented road linking Punta Bilar, Looc & Mabua Beach during the Holy Week 2015. So very sorry for the shaky video as I was climbing up THAT hill lol, kind of a challenge keeping my handlebar straight while I was slowly pedalling up hehe ^_^ FYI: Filmed using an iPhone 5s mounted on my bike handlebar using Koomus BikeGo 2 Bike Mount Cradle - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MLS8IU8/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_awdm_FbXjvb08ZXG1B :)

Mountainview Waterspring Resort @ Tubod Surigao del Norte
A very calm / relaxing & refreshing place! Route / Asa agihon - https://www.strava.com/activities/448153025 It is just 2.4km away from the highway. When you see a sign from the highway that says turn right to "Marga Elementary School" just follow that road until you reach Brgy. Capayahan at the top. How's the road going there? I'd say 70% paved & 30% rocky/rough road. But I mountain biked all the way there from Surigao City so ^_^

Capalayan Waterfalls of Surigao City
How to get there - it is just a 20 to 30 minutes hike / trek from the road depending on your pace. This is the GPS tracking of my bike trip going there https://www.strava.com/activities/461056232. Luckily, there were people going to the falls that day @ 11AM, so I just went with them & didn't need to go to the Brarangay Hall for a tour guide hehe. I really tried to memorize the path going to the falls, & I could now say that I can get to the falls without a guide hehe. Recommended attire : leggings / pants & rashguard or longsleeved shirt. DON'T wear shorts / sleeveless shirt as there are mosquitoes by the falls. Recommended footwear : rubber shoes / boots / slippers & be prepared to get them muddy & or wet. Enjoy & spread the word! ^_^ P.S. Please don't leave your trash there. Keep the place clean & green. "Take nothing but memories / pictures / videos, leave nothing but footprints." ^_^

Surigao's Mahucdam Lake - 700 Heavenly Steps / Stations of the Cross
To those looking for a challenging Stations of the Cross this coming Holy Week, why don't you try Tubod Nature Park's Mahucdam Lake - 700 Heavenly Steps! It's called "heavenly" because once you reach the topmost part, you'll die of exhaustion & immediately go to heaven! lol joke ra! Basta gana ang view, kadto na kamo! ^_^ You will not regret it! It's the only place that I got to see a bird's eye view of two (2) lakes both at the same time -Mahucdam Lake & Mainit Lake. #char It was a bit of a challenge going to the top but it was all worth it once I saw the priceless / breathtaking / inspiring / calming view of both Mahucdam & Mainit Lake :) Route / asa agihon - https://www.strava.com/activities/912413972 P.S. The 700 Steps Walkway entrance is right across Mahucdam Elementary School :) Also the lake overflowed a bit on the walkway by the time I was there but it is still very accessible. This was due to the heavy rainfall in the previous weeks :) #mahukdam

Mabua - Looc Concrete Mountain Trail of Surigao City
It was a steep climb but the breathtaking view was worth it :) How to get there: Just go to Mabua Pebble Beach of Surigao City and when already there, give yourself a pat on the back because going to the beach was already 95% of the battle (what do you know, that easy) :) All you have to do next is just to ask from the locals where the Mabua - Looc Concrete Mountain Trail is, I'm sure every one from there knows where this famous view / spot / trail is. Hint: The start / landmark of the trail is at the far left side of Mt. Bagarabon Hotel at Mabua Beach. Just ask the employees of that hotel should all the locals you've asked still didn't know where the Mabua-Looc Concrete Mountain Trail is. ^_^ Enjoy the relaxing view! Just one of the things why I love this city :)

20 ft Jump "Diving Cave" Sohoton, Surigao Siargao
September 7, 2015 10:00 AM - Our Diving Cave Adventure Video of Sohoton National Park's "Diving Cave" @ Bucas Grande, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. Diving cave because after you've entered and climbed the cave, there's no where else to go but jump the 20 ft cliff to exit! hehehe :) mga tagaw og talawarns! XD super kakoyba but definitely worth it! Highly recommended sa mga daredevils & adrenaline junkies out there! Mubo ra lantawon sa ubos, pero pag naa na ka sa diving platform, medyo kuyba sab gajod iambak! hahaha :D Route / how to get there - we hired / ride a van from the Surigao City Terminal that has a Hayanggabon, Claver route @ 6AM or 7AM, when we reached Hayanggabon Port (about 1hr van ride), we hired a boat to go to Sohoton National Park. That's it. I think this is a much faster route than riding the boat / lantsa from Surigao Boulevard to Dapa, Siargao because Hayanngabon Port in Claver is so much closer to Sohoton. Google Map it! Hehe :D

Bugsay Seafood Restaurant - Surigao City Guide / Walkthrough / Review
Dined on Oct. 23, 2016, Sunday, 6:30PM Their 4-page MENU gallery (pls. view so that you can gauge whether u can afford dining there or not lol) - https://postimg.org/gallery/3gqd9oyq6/ First impressions: - I like their interior - Nice location (overwater) - Yummy food - Friendly staff / waiters Too bad there was no Live Band when we got there. I wonder what time the Live Band starts & whether there is Live Band everyday or just on weekends? How to get there - just get a tricycle (fare P8.00) & ask to drop you off at Petron Sabang. The resto is located just across the gas station / basketball gym. - Business hours: 10AM-10PM What we ordered: - Kinilaw na Isda -Php180.00 - Shrimp in a Pan -Php295.00 - Sizzling Pork Sisig -Php180.00 - 2x Plain Rice Plater (50each) -Php100.00 - Mango Shake - Php65.00 - Banana Shake - Php75.00 Total Bill - Php895.00 :) Contact them for more info - https://www.facebook.com/OverwaterRestaurant/ Side note / 2 negative observations - I could have given it 5 stars except for that one incident where after I finished eating, I went to wash my hands when suddenly a waiter asked if I already asked for the bill / paid for what we ordered. This happened as I was STILL washing my hands. I just think it was rude. Maybe he thought mutakas / we will not pay for it. Haysss. Do they really do that to all their customers? Ask them if they are ready to pay the bill, as a customer is STILL WASHING his/her hand? Or is it because I "looked" poor/modest/ordinary & nanigurado ra ang waiter na dili me mutakas? His exact words were, "Excuse me ma'am, nakuha/ajo na nijo ang bill?" as I was STILL washing my hands! Ugh! He did not directly say, "nagbayad na mo?" But still, amo na ang pasabot / one could easily infer what he meant. I could not think of any other reason why a waiter / staff would ask you for the bill WHILE you're still washing your hands except for that. Hayyyss, I felt really discriminated. Ang dapat adto maghuyat cja na tawagon namo cja pra sa amo bill. But I can't blame him coz I stood up to wash my hands, at the same time, my companion that night also stood up to go to the restroom / cr to relieve herself. So no one was left at the table at that time, so maybe that's what the waiter thought, that just "maybe" mutakas kame. Ugh! Very bad practice! I was really offended! Overall, my night went smooth, I just smiled & pretended not to be affected by it but deep inside I was kind of "napahiya" of what customers who overheard what the waiter said & the timing of where he said it might think. Side note / observation, I don't know if it's just me / my kaartehan but at their kitchen table top, the area where finished / just-cooked orders from customers are placed waiting to be served, I saw someone inside (probably kitchen staff) eating (his dinner) at that same counter. I just thought it was an eyesoar. I hope they will not eat their dinner / food at that same counter top because a customer could easily mistake him to be messing with the customers' order, but not really, he was just eating his food, at that same countertop where just-cooked food / orders are being held. Also to future customers, double check your bill before paying because they also miscalculated my bill, they charged me for 2 Banana shake when I only ordered one. Good thing I took a picture of their itemized order slip, so when I got home & reviewed the bill, I found out about it & went back to the resto AGAIN to ask the cashier if she could double check my bill, & she was courteous enough to admit / correct that she made a mistake & refunded me the amount I wasn't supposed to pay. It's no big deal / I didn't make a big fuss about it because everyone makes mistakes / nobody is perfect. Just a friendly reminder to review thoroughly your bill before paying. So sorry for this long post / review. I just thought it needs to be said to get it out of my system & to help them improve. But over-all the resto is great! :) tnx for the experience!

And non-aircon van fare from Bacuag Highway rotonda to Surigao City terminal is also P60 only. 1. Hehe :) Route / asa agihon - go to Del Carmen town in Siargao & ask locals where the Mangrove Boardwalk is, i think it is just a 20 minute walk from their Pier. Just follow the road / coral road beside their gym. :D good luck! ^_^ FYI: I've read that Siargao has the Largest Mangrove Forest reserves / plantation in the Philippines :)

Emotion Glide Kayak Features
My very first kayak! :) I really wanted to have a boat. Ever since we had an NSTP at Manila Zoo and went boating there, I thought "wow it would be really nice to have one" and so when I searched Amazon.com for a kayak, I couldn't be happier. This kayak is so beautiful and yet very affordable ($349 is more or less P15,000 - people would just buy a new phone with that amount when they could've bought this. seriously what's wrong with you ppl? (kidding!)) And so I bought one and thanks to Pobox.ph, I was able to ship this thing to the Philippines! yes!!! Emotion Glide Kayak's useful features: Adjustable Padded Seat Float bag Adjustable Foot Braces Carry handles Bungee cords / Paddle Keeper Drain plug Also because I wanted to stay fit & go to places that I've never been before are other reasons why I bought this kayak. Overall, I'm really very happy with this purchase! Very good investment. This kayak tracks well, very comfortable even after 4 hours of paddling at the beach (from Mabua to Sabang, lol) and is very stable. I really enjoyed myself when I was out in the water with this kayak and I think anyone and everyone would love this even beginners :) Do it!!! Filmed at Mabua Pebble Beach, Surigao City, Philippines - my favorite beach :) Cool related videos from @init003's channel (http://youtube.com/user/init003) Helpful Test paddle Video of the Emotion Glide - http://t.co/tRMY1rz How tough really is the Emotion Glide / Exhibition Video (lol) - http://t.co/1AgCJjC Official website: http://www.emotionkayaks.com/kayaks/glidext/index.html So there have been a few YouTubers asking how much did I pay for the shipping, so I thought I'll just upload my answer and proof of delivery pic on here - http://i47.tinypic.com/2n1b7du.jpg Hope this helps! :)

Butuan 1.3KM Zipline @ Delta Discovery Park 2015
Purok 7, Brgy. Bonbon, Butuan City. From the city proper, you can pakyaw / hire a tricycle to take you to Delta Discovery Park. As of October 2015, the road going all the way there is already paved / cemented unlike before it was still rough road. If you have your own car & you are coming from Surigao City, take the Butuan Diversion Road and turn left when you reach the checkpoint by the Diversion Road that says "to West Highlands", diretsoha lang and dalan until you reach the tarpaulin advertising of Delta Discovery Park! I think it is just a 15-20 minutes drive from the Butuan Diversion Road. Have fun and enjoy! :D https://m.facebook.com/deltadiscovery.park?fref=nf

Sukailang Diwata Highlands, Surigao City
Found another WATERFALLS @ Sukailang Diwata Highlands, Surigao City. I bet you never knew there's a Hidden Paradise like this in Surigao City! lol Well, worry not coz me neither! ^_^ I had just discovered the place even though it was opened years ago pa lol :) Better late than never, as they say! Hahaha ^_^ I've seen pics of people posing with the metal doggy statue & captioned it that they're at Surigao City, but they never really posted WHERE exactly are they in Surigao City & how to get there! Well, this is a video reply for that! lol ^_^ There used to be lots of Falcata trees on this farmland as seen from old photos people posted on Facebook, but as of date of upload /visit, they were in the process of regrowing them after they've cut & sold? the mature ones. How to get there / asa agihon / route map? Check it out on Strava (34 km ride) - https://www.strava.com/activities/787654024 The story behind my discovery / adventure lol - I've been to Brgy. Sukailang before but I didn't know there was a waterfalls on there until I read this blog -- http://filipinohomes.com/blog/what-not-to-miss-when-in-surigao/ -- that says there is one... I was so curious that I embarked on a bike adventure to that place again, but this time, with the sole intent of discovering / asking people from Sukailang on how to get there (all the while plotting my route on Strava) to really see for myself & to help other tourists like me who want to discover the waterfalls on their own (DIY style) :) I took the smooth trail less traveled @ Brgy. Sukailang & ended up discovering Diwata Highlands instead lol... At first, I didn't know that Diwata Highlands had a little waterfalls on their own but after exploring / just following the carefully laid out stepping stones of Diwata Highlands, I ended up finding their little gem of a waterfalls! Yey! Hehehe #tagaw Diwata Highlands, according to the caretaker, is a PRIVATE farmland, but he was kind enough to let me explore / tour the place, thanks kuya! hehe :) The caretaker also said that there is indeed a waterfalls @ Sukailang but the place/walkway to the waterfalls is not maintained & you have to tell / book from the Barangay for someone to tour you there... Boo... I think they should place a tarpaulin or something at the main entrance of the Barangay to advertise the waterfalls & on how to get there... #justasuggestion Anyways, I was so awed at the little waterfalls I discovered @ Diwata Highlands that it already sufficed my chasing waterfalls itch & did not bother anymore (but maybe next time again, lol) to find the waterfalls that this blog was referring to hehe - http://filipinohomes.com/blog/what-not-to-miss-when-in-surigao/ That's all, hope this video helped! :)
