Beloved: The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia

02:50
The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, commonly known as the Nashville Dominicans, continue to expand into new territory with a message of hope that the springtime of the New Evangelization is indeed in bloom. For almost 150 years, in the heart of the Bible Belt in Tennessee, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia have embraced God's love in the living of their vows and apostolic vocation in the field of education. Now, with a median age of 36, the 235 Dominican Sisters of this congregation bring generations of young people the message of Christ in over 30 schools, throughout the United States and Australia. Like the virgin martyr Cecilia, Nashville Dominicans promise their hearts to Christ. The Lords voice fills their ears and secures their promise to be Christs alone. Nashville Dominicans show the world a love that is different and unique. It is a love that is eternal. Nashville Dominicans are indeed beloved by God, as you will witness in this documentary. You will be taken inside a religious congregation that continues to offer the world and the Church a compelling model of religious life that is beautiful, hopeful, joyful and alive.

In Her Footsteps: The Story of Kateri Tekakwitha (2012) - Official Trailer

01:31
For 350 years, a young Christian Mohawk woman has been interceding for and inspiring natives and non-natives around the world. Written accounts from Jesuit missionaries in the late 17th century emphasize her virtuous life, devotion to chastity, hatred of sin and self, extreme practices of penance as well as hundreds of accounts of miracles after her death at the age of 24. At her beatification on June 22, 1980 in St. Peter's Basilica, Pope John Paul II described her last days as "an ever clearer manifestation of her solid faith, straightforward humility, calm resignation, and radiant joy, even in the midst of terrible sufferings. Her last words, simple and sublime, whispered at the moment of death, sum up, like a noble hymn, a life of purest charity: Jesus, I love you." On October 2012, Kateri Tekakwitha became the first Native woman to be recognized as a Saint. This moving documentary takes us on a journey from northern New York State to Montrèal and Kahnawà:ke; from Washington State to New Mexico, as we follow St. Kateri's incredible journey of deep faith, heroic sacrifice and love of Christ. Featuring many people who have been touched by her -including the little boy who received the miraculous healing that led to her canonization- the film shows that no one is too simple or too young to follow Christ, and that this woman, whose face was scarred and vision was weak, is still a source of Grace and healing for all.

Sisters of Life

05:04
The Sisters of Life is a contemplative / active religious community of women founded in 1991 by John Cardinal O'Connor for the protection and enhancement of the sacredness of every human life. Like all religious communities, we take the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. We also are consecrated under a special, fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. Reverence and gratitude for the unique and unrepeatable gift of each human life made in the image and likeness of God fuels the prayer of each Sister, our first mission in building the Kingdom of God and the "Culture of Life." It also provides the starting point for our interactions with others, especially relationships in community between our 80 Sisters (who come from across the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia and Spain), and in our apostolates. Inspired by the love of Christ our Spouse, the author of Life, we desire to pour out all our gifts of nature and grace in the apostolate, that nothing of the gift of life, and no one to whom it has been given, should be lost. Our missions are carried out with the heart of the Church and with the hope of revealing to those we serve the inherent goodness and beauty of their own lives, so that each person may see and experience the truth that they are an unrepeatable creation of the Master.

St. Gianna Beretta Molla: Mother of a Family and Patron of WMF 2015

12:01
Shortly after her death in 1962, the touching story of Gianna Beretta Molla, married woman, mother of a family and medical doctor, spread quickly throughout the entire world. Through Gianna’s married love she became a sign of Christ’s love for the Church and for humanity. Her action at the end of her life, in saving young Gianna Emanuela, her daughter, was heroic in that she prepared for her final action every day of her life. Her final decision for life was the natural flowering and culmination of an extraordinary life of virtue and holiness, selflessness and quiet joy. On April 24, 1994, Pope John Paul II beatified Gianna Beretta Molla, mother of a family, in St. Peter's Square in Rome. Ten years later, on May 16, 2004, she was proclaimed a saint of the Church. Her husband and children were present at both ceremonies. In this moving video, find out why this contemporary, Italian woman is patron saint of mothers, physicians, unborn children and the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. Here in May 2007, the Bishops of Latin America and the Caribbean, together with Pope Benedict XVI, opened their Fifth General Conference to discuss the future of the Church on the continent. One of the architects of the final document, called the Aparecida Document, was then Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known today as Pope Francis. In this highly important text we see a meeting of the two great minds of Benedict and Francis, and a roadmap for the future of the Church that is now being implemented on the universal level.

Pier Giorgio Frassati, Verso L'Alto

04:44
What was so unique and special about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati? He was born in 1901, at the turn of the last century in Turin, Italy. July 4, 2008 marked the 83rd anniversary of Pier Giorgio Frassati's entry into eternal life. Athletic, full of life, always surrounded by friends, whom he inspired with his life, Pier Giorgio chose not to become a priest or religious, preferring to give witness to the Gospel as a lay person. He never founded a religious order or started a new ecclesial movement. He led no armies, nor was he elected to public office. Death came even before he could complete his university degree (the degree was awarded to him posthumously in 2001). He never had a chance to begin a career; in fact, he hadn't even worked out for sure what his vocation in life would be. He was simply a young man who was in love with his family and friends, in love with the mountains and the sea, but especially in love with God. Through World Youth Days, Pier Giorgio Frassati has become a special patron to millions of young people around the world, and most especially to the movement "Catholic Christian Outreach" in Canada. Let us consider three highlights of this young Blessed's life that combined in a remarkable way political activism, solidarity, work for social justice, piety and devotion, humanity and goodness, holiness and ordinariness, faith and life.
