How to Colorize a Black and White Photo in Photoshop

04:29
Take a 'boring' black and white photo, and give it some color in Photoshop! This tutorial covers selection methods, Adjustment Layers, and Layer Masks, all of which will help you in your photo editing. Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials for more on text effects, photo editing, photo retouching, and more! Links below! Tools used in this tutorial: Quick Selection Tool: This selection method works very similar to a brush, allowing you to brush over the areas you wish to turn into a selection. By default, every stroke adds to your selection. If you wish to deselect some areas, hold down your Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac) key and brush. Refine Edge: When you initially create a selection, it's likely to be very sharp around the edges, and likely won't contain hair or fur. Refine Edge will allow you to not only soften out those edges, but you'll be able to use Smart Radius to grab hair and fur which may not have been selected. Layer Masks: If there's an area of your layer that you wish to hide (or bring back), Layer Masks will help you do that. Painting using a black brush will hide portions of the layer, and painting with a white brush will reveal them. Black and white gradients can also be used. Adjustment Layers: By using an Adjustment Layers, you're able to change targeted areas of your photo without damaging the original layer. These can either be applied to the full image, or specific areas using selections or Layer Masks. At any point in the future, you can either make changes to the adjustment, hide it, or delete it completely. How to Remove Wrinkles in Photoshop with the Spot Healing Brush

01:31
Learn how to quickly remove wrinkles in Photoshop using the Spot Healing Brush Tool. Other tools can certainly be used to achieve this result, but in many cases, the Spot Healing Brush is all you'll need. Tools used in this tutorial: Spot Healing Brush: This tool works just like a brush. When you dab or create a brush stroke, Photoshop will analyze the surrounding area, and attempt to replace your blemish with that information. For best results, the Spot Healing Brush should be used for smaller blemishes, such as pimples or thin cracks. Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials. Links below! Quick Photo Composition in Photoshop

03:41
In this video, you'll learn how to quickly turn a plain photo shoot into a fantastic one. This technique uses the Quick Selection Tool, Refine Edge, and Adjustment Layers. Support my content: http://www.patreon.com/howardpinsky Refine Edge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soJdXsFx8V8 Tools used in this tutorial: Quick Selection Tool: This selection method works very similar to a brush, allowing you to brush over the areas you wish to turn into a selection. Adjustment Layers (Curves, Gradient Mask): By using an Adjustment Layers, you're able to change targeted areas of your photo without damaging the original layer. These can either be applied to the full image, or specific areas using selections or Layer Masks. At any point in the future, you can either make changes to the adjustment, hide it, or delete it completely. Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials. Links below! How to Create a Loading Circle Animation in Adobe Photoshop

06:38
In today's tutorial, we're going to be creating a very simple 'loading circle' animation using Photoshop CS6, which you can use on your websites, or before your video projects. This effect is going to take advantage of some of Photoshop CS6's improved animation capabilities, leaving you with a silky smooth result. Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials. Links below! Tools used in this tutorial: Custom Shapes Tool: If you're looking to create a non-standard shape, you may find it within the Customs Shapes Tool. Within the shape picker on the options bar, you can load in all shapes if you don't find what you're looking for. Layer Styles: If you're looking to add effects to your layers, you'll likely want to use Layer Styles. Whether it's an outer glow, a few shadows, or a bevel to give it depth, the possibilities are endless! Timeline: To create the animation, the Timeline was accessed (under the Window menu). My adding keyframes, you're able to set the starting and ending point for each object, and when played back (spacebar), you'll see the animation. How to Create Disney's Frozen Text in Photoshop

05:37
Today's tutorial will teach you how to create a Disney's Frozen text effect, using Layer Styles, and a texture. As the Frozen font used by Disney is probably custom created, I'm not able to reproduce the font, itself. Become a supporter: http://www.patreon.com/howardpinsky Tools used in this tutorial: Adjustment Layers: By using an Adjustment Layers, you're able to change targeted areas of your photo without damaging the original layer. These can either be applied to the full image, or specific areas using selections or Layer Masks. At any point in the future, you can either make changes to the adjustment, hide it, or delete it completely. The Type Tool: Click and type! If you've ever used a word processing application, you already know how it works! Up on the Options Bar, you can change your typeface, font size, style, color, and so on! Layer Styles: If you're looking to add effects to your layers, you'll likely want to use Layer Styles. Whether it's an outer glow, a few shadows, or a bevel to give it depth, the possibilities are endless! Wave Filter: This filter can be used for many reasons, but is often used to rough up the edges of a perfect shape, such as a square or circle. To be able to edit the values later on, make sure to convert your layer into a Smart Object first. Layer Masks: If there's an area of your layer that you wish to hide (or bring back), Layer Masks will help you do that. Painting using a black brush will hide portions of the layer, and painting with a white brush will reveal them. Make sure to check out my other Photoshop tutorials. Links below!
